The hall is glamorous with high ceilings and large windows. There is a bar area too. You can set the room up as you please. All the events I have been to here have food stations lining both sides of the hall. The staff here are wonderful and courteous. Service with a smile and very helpful should you have any questions. I have the most basic package which offers me communal space at one of the many tables throughout the building, fast wifi and power outlets, and the Venture X community which means networking as well as lunch and learns or happy hours. The kitchens offer free coffee and tea plus they have snacks for sale and you can store your own lunch in the fridge. The also have free snacks on certain days like a bagel bar, pizza day, and other stuff like that. For being a member, you also get discounts at local businesses as well. I find that I'm more productive at Venture X than when I'm at home which is a good excuse to even spend half the day there instead of being in my home office or on the couch all day.

I've been to baseball games across the country. I've been lucky enough to be in luxury suites at every type of sporting event as well. So my first visit to this luxury suite at the Riverdogs stadium and I was sold. It's fantastic! After picking up our tickets at will call you head to the stairs or the elevator and go to floor 3. Douglas meet us at the entrance to check our tickets, give us wrist bands and explain about the free beer and food. The room is from home plate all the way down past the first base line so it's huge. The bathroom was nice and super clean (I thought of our dear friend Mike M when I saw how nice it was). For free beer they had on draft Bud, Michelob Ultra, an Amber, Fat Tire and an IPA. Both the Fat Tire and the IPA ran out before the end of the game so I switched to Bud! And the food. Soooo much! Burgers, dogs, bbq and brisket with all the sides and fixings you could ask for. From the suite you don't have to stay inside you can go out and join the crowd in a whole section of seats as well. I could keep going on about how great of a time I had, but I think you have caught my drift by now. I hope to get spoiled again and get to go back!

Couples are able to pick two different areas for the ceremony and reception all on the same property (this works great for all budgets.) Lowndes is located right downtown Charleston by Hampton Park so you don't have to deal with the narrow streets and high traffic. There is parking on the premises and plenty on the street. Lowndes also has connections with a ton of vendors (photographers, draping, florists, caterers, etc) that they can recommend. Highly recommend for how lovely everything is and how great and knowledgeable the staff is. Weddings here are always seamless. And of courses there are rooms for the bridal party to get ready and stay.

The wine and cheese evening hour was so much fun as a lot of the guests were in the parlor just getting to know each other. The cheese plate was the perfect amount and very nice touch. The room was very clean. The bathroom was nice and updated and the bed and pillows were comfortable. Let me say however, the Inn still needs a ton of work and the work that has been done is sub par at best. Maybe I have high expectations as I have owned a century home & have stayed in several 100/150 year old homes that cost less per night yet were much better restored. This one gives you the feeling that it still is a major work in progress. We were in room 11. It is behind the reception desk. Upon closing and locking up the reception area in the evenings, the only way to access our room was by going outside to the back of the house and up the narrow staircase. That seemed a little odd but it was okay. I found it strange that the Keurig and water and such was in the basement area as well. I felt it should have probably been in the dining area or even hallway. The floor in our room was completely unfinished which was a concern as socks would get snagged on it. The breakfasts were okay but they never change the menu and it's not cooked on site but rather prepackaged and heated in the microwave or oven. BUT...The topper was the cold. We literally froze in our room the last night. So cold that when I stepped on the tile floor in the bathroom the bottoms of my feet hurt. There is a system in our room that I had set to heat & 74 yet it never warmed up. We checked out a day early as the portable heater in our room that was in there as well blew the breaker. The sweet young lady offered to check the breakers but at this point I think we were done trying. Again... we LOVED the staff and interaction with the other guests. I wish the owner the best as I know it can't be an easy or inexpensive property to own.
