Not sure I understand the mediocre reviews for this little antique store in the old market. We stumbled upon it while walking around one afternoon and it was honestly super fun to explore! It had a bunch of unique odds and ends and blended the affordable with the expensive. Basically it was what I expected from an antique store, but had some unique finds that you don't see everywhere which I enjoyed. Was it cheap? no, but honestly most antique stores aren't cheap these days. We didn't find anything to take home with us but had a really fun time browsing and I'd recommend for anyone interested in antiquing that finds themselves in this part of Omaha. read more

Me and my boyfriend decided to go to downtown and we thought to swing by the antique annex... well a great thing we did. First off customer service was great. The gentleman who helped us was so nice. He gave both me and my boyfriend two shirts for only ten dollars! What a steal! But honestly such a great place they had a bunch of nice old stuff. A lot might actually be a lot if you do your research on it. But most definitely would recommend checking this place out! read more

Service was a pleasant older man who was so very nice...helped me with several items in cabinets I wanted to try on and look at..plugged in some lights for me to make sure they worked...so many unique items and antiques ...priced moderately and very worth it for sure....a couple items we want to go home and see where we could put them before buying them! The store itself was fine. Not a huge selection but it's not a big store so that didn't surprise me. What did surprise me was the employee's/owner's (I don't know which but it was a younger male) attitude towards a toddler fussing. He kept giving the parent dirty looks like their toddler was bothersome and they were unwelcome. It made me so uncomfortable that I left. I understand everyone has a bad day, but a staff member being bothered by a child acting like a child did not make a good first shopping experience for me. I actually did see something I liked, and it was priced a little bit high, but I was going to buy it until I witnessed that. read more

Stopped in to be met by a very rude male attendant. Did not greet us just made a comment about my water bottle. I need to constantly drink water due to a recent transplant. I'm 40 not 4. My mother is disabled and he didn't want to let us out though the door that leads to ramp as we were leaving until we told him she can't walk down stairs. Do not plan on going here unless you have at least $1000 on hand and don't care about customer service. read more

If you take the time and browse, you'll find many items of interest at annex. The problem is the price tag! After watching hours of HGTV, I was inspired to find some vintage decor and clean it up/re-purpose it for the house. I found an old fancy dial telephone and a star shaped light fixture that caught my eye, but once I looked at the price tags, I was turned off. For the cost to make it working and beautiful again, I might as well buy something brand new to decorate with. When I shop at a place like this, I am hoping for a deal since it's vintage and used stuff. They also have a sizeable collection of records, which we shuffled through. Many are priced at $5, which is a steal! Recommend for those who like older music and listen to records. Overall, a neat shop in the Old Market selling antiques and used items. There are a good handful of antique shops in this corner of the Old Market, and I think it adds character and flair to our town. read more

The service was impeccable. Three generations of women were shopping, and we all found items that appealed to us. Not only that, but the gentleman running the store had a wealth of information about plants, and he helped us find the items we were looking for. Can't wait to visit this store again!! read more

Rude store worker, didn't greet guests. The gentleman starred at us the entire time with no words exchanged. When we asked to open a case he mumbled under his breath saying something. When My wife asked to look at a McKee bottoms up cup he said I thought you were looking at a clock and made a snarky comment. We looked over the cup and was told us "The vendor knows what he has." Additionally when we wanted to purchase and double check to make sure it's not cracked or had flea bites, the person's snarky remarks "He doesn't sell anything with chips" When we purchased the cup we were not offered a bag , box , or anything to carry our purchase and when we asked for one we got flashed by the cashier because he can't pull up his pants or wear a belt. read more

This place has some really neat finds. Everything is 20% to 30% over-priced and the staff are very unfriendly.

I am having a hard time writing this one, but after traveling to Omaha annually for years, I have made a point to stop in this shop. I am a dealer too and really appreciate the quality of items they have for sale. Sure, the prices are really steep, but it is always fun to look at and splurge for a little something for myself. This last time in I had to ask myself if I will ever be back. After not being greeted, and for sure having made eye contact, I felt like I was unwanted and a bother. Whatever. I am a big girl LOL. I ended up finding a great little pairing that would be easy to travel back home with as well as a few other items. I waited for several minutes at the register with no sales clerk. Finally I rang the little bell next to the register to alert the shopkeeper that I was there, and imagine my surprise when a snippy comment came from across the store demanding that I "stop playing with that" or something to that effect. I was steaming at this point and would've 100% left had it not been for the painting being a surprise for my husband. A few more minutes passed and I finally tracked them down up in the front behind a barrier that was not for the public. They were just sitting there chit chatting with what I assume to be friends. The "friends" were actually the ones that finally looked over to me and mentioned that I might need help. It is a shame. There are SO many great pieces in this shop and over the years I have wondered why I keep seeing the same pieces sitting there and not moving onto someone's home. I am starting to realize that it may be from customers being turned off and driven away. read more

Small store with prices on the higher end, but still a great place to look through. I was looking for old post cards from the 1930s and came away with way more then I had hoped! They had boxes to look through with various cities on the front, most had been filled out and sent. If your in the Old Market browsing make sure you stop in! The little record store in the back has got some great stuff, and even carries some new things as well! It's so cool how many places in Omaha have records for sale! i recently had the opportunity to visit this wonderful shop and found it to have an excellent selection of antiques but more importantly a WONDERFU, very helpful staff member. I was searching for antique "poodle" items. My parking meter was almost expired and they made change for me so I could "feed the meter". We had a wonderful talk, during which he gave me a poodle item as a gift. A very memorable visit and a very personable experience. I will visit again the next time I'm in Omaha. read more

I'd have 2 agree with others that there is a lot of overpriced vintage stuff and very few "antiques". There were 2 guys working and yet the entire time we shopped it was as if we were invisible. Not only did we get no greeted or assistance but had to listen to them talk of dislike for Christmas holiday because it's too "Jesus centered while Halloween at least has satan." I'm not one to care about anyone's choice of religious views but come on....your running a business and have customers in the store, is this really the best choice of conversation? read more

Rude staff and ridiculous prices. I was in Omaha this past October for a cousins wedding. While enjoying the many things the city had to offer, my family and I decided that we would kill some time looking at antiques. With a name like "Antique Annex" you can see how our interest was piqued. They had a fine enough selection of items, nothing remarkable, but not great offensive gaps in selection either. Definitely a few interesting things. That's when I came across 2 pieces of film equipment. Specifically, 2 Mole Richardson side lights. The cords were wound incorrectly, but I wouldn't expect them to be wound properly anywhere else but a film set. Anyways, there was nothing special about them, but I liked the shape and intensity of the light they threw. I asked for information on the lights, but that was a fruitless endeavor. I asked the price and was given some ungodly overestimate of their value (I work in the lighting department on various films in LA). As is part of negotiation, I asked if she (can't remember her name) could make me a better offer. In an obvious ploy, she tells me she isn't sure and has to call some person to see. She does and get's back to me with %10 off. With an item more antiquated than antique (think buying a 90's gateway computer instead of the new Mac), I was a little shocked by the offer. I countered with 30% hoping to push things further and was immediately told no, without consulting the earlier mystery phone person. I asked if she could do any better than %10 off, which, instead of a simple no, evidently warranted a condescending explanation about what "Antiques" were. Like i said, they're more out of date than antique, and are high wattage, large lights that would make a terrible decoration (if that's the angle that was being played). There was no information on them and I wasn't able to check out what bulb they would have taken. They were also huge... so transport would have been tough... But anyways, the fact I was talked down to, the fact that the prices are ridiculous and not flexible and that you don't actually get to deal with the person who is selling the items, are why I rate this pitiful excuse for an Antique store at 1 star. read more

This is a little vintage furniture store that is across a hallway from the Flying Worm. I know you can get into the store by going through the back of the Flying Worm. You may also be able to enter the hallway, and then the store, directly through a door on Jackson, but I'm not sure. I was expecting to find just a few pieces of furniture, like you typically do when you are at an area with furniture in a vintage clothing store, but this place isn't just an afterthought to vintage clothing. There is a full, large room with a variety of vintage furniture and household items. We didn't find anything here that fit our style, but we enjoyed looking around. It's more "vintage" and less "antique." It's also not packed to the gills, so you don't have as many items to look through as at some other stores, but on the other hand, it means you don't have to pick through a ton of junk to see if there might be something good underneath. I appreciated that. It's also a bit cleaner than some of these stores tend to be, which was a bonus. read more

The older man working in the record store was the rudest person I've met in this town. I was so excited to go shopping for records. He was following us around, hovering over us watching us go through the records, as if this was against the rules and he thought we were going to steal the records. Then he got real close to me, cornered me by the back area and demanded I move away from that area bc it was off limits but wouldn't make room for me to leave. He said there should be a rope there but there wasn't and I was barely a few inches over the imaginary threshold he was pointing too. He demanded I get out, again as if I had done something wrong. Apparently I was supposed to squeeze past him to leave that area bc he was making it impossible to move. I've never felt so insulted and threatened before in a place of business. Especially in a record store. He was being a bully and a jerk. He singled me out for no reason and immediately treated me like I was a criminal or something. I will never go back to this place and I suggest you do the same unless you want to be treated like this. read more
