Over the last few years I purchased several items from smiths furniture. I recently purchased a…read moresofa and love seat from them. When it was being delivered, the delivery men did some damage to my home, and they also put the sofa together incorrectly. My hardwood floor was scratched and dented and they loosened my banister by pushing the sofa against it. I called to make a complaint. I was not asking them for anything. I just wanted to speak with someone about it. They sent someone out to take pictures. Then this morning I received a call from a man who was exceptionally rude. He spoke down to me and acted as if I was an imbecile He treated me so poorly that they have lost a customer. He said that when they delivered the set there was nothing else in that room and insinuated that someone else did the damage. I tried to tell him there still isn't anything else in that room. He just spoke over me. Anytime I tried to interject he spoke over me. He pretty much called me a liar and said they would not be able to do anything to help me. However I never once asked for anything. All I asked was to put in a complaint in the hopes that the next time they would send so who would be more careful. Now there will not be a next time. I will be going elsewhere. I have never been treated so poorly by a store that was trying to get my business.

After 4 returns due to pieces literally falling off my bikes I called asking for a refund on the service and the owner Chris hung up on me. He claims 25 years of experience. But here one can find handcrafted items with a St. John's theme, such as slate coasters, sun catches, wine stoppers and even switchplate covers. The St. John's townhouses are worked into many of these items. They also carry calendars and books about Newfoundland. There is also a selection of former independent Newfoundland postage stamps for stamp collectors. The shop is about one block up and two over from the cruise terminal.
