Excellent seafood and great service. I always get the halibut and it is exceptional every time.

Was really looking forward to eating here again. Was 5+ years ago before. It was quite busy & Staff was polite and food came quickly. But food was just OK & disappointing. Way too much batter on the shrimp (left the hard part on in the batter) & scallops (which were small). Another thing to be aware of is the auto tipping. Excellent seafood. Tried the Cod Tongues, Single Cod with fries and gravy. The cod tongue was very much like a calamari in texture and taste. Very tasty! The cod and fries were excellent as well. Adding gravy was a plus. They have added a store which has a large selection of West Coast specialties. I highly recommend the drive out to Ft. Saskatchwan to try this homey restaurant. read more

Came here on Sunday for a late lunch after hiking at Elk Island. It's a small place with not too many tables. We were able to get a table for our family. My son got the Grilled Cheese with fries. They looked great. My daughter had the burger and fries and she gobbled it up. My wife had the clam chowder and mussels. Both very good. I had the one piece haddock and chips and I added mushy pieces. Fish had the right crisp. Around the edges the fish was a little dry though. Mushy peas were great. I hadn't had that since I last visited UK a few years ago. I really liked the fries. They looked home made. Service was mostly good. Seated right away. Ordered quickly. Food came in good time. Only thing was they got busier at the end of our meal and it took awhile to flag down a waitress to get the bill. Overall really good and will be back. read more

Made the trek out to Fort Saskatchewan to pick up a few items from FB marketplace and eat here. It didn't live up to the hype from my wife and in laws but I still enjoyed trying a new restaurant. Unfortunately they were sold out of halibut which is the best option for fish and chips but the haddock is a good second choice, cod is too oily and the worst choice in my opinion. I wonder if they just decided not to carry halibut anymore but they just keep saying they're sold out. The four of us ordered three appetizers: deep fried pickles, clam chowder, and mussels and one entree of fish and chips with four pieces of haddock. We also got gravy to go with the fries and one slice of blueberry cheesecake to go. Who doesn't like a deep fried pickle? The wedges could be a bit thinner but they probably get it from a supplier this way. The mussels came with our main course instead of as an appetizer but that didn't change the fact that they were perfectly cooked and the broth had lots of flavour. The clam chowder was not the classic New England or New York style because it wasn't cream or tomato based. Instead it was a thickened broth with all the similar ingredients: potato, onion, carrot, celery, bell pepper, bacon, and lots of clams. I'm not a big fan of clam chowder but the rest of our table kept mentioning how they enjoyed it. The haddock was battered a little more than I prefer and the batter wasn't light and crispy. I suspect that they buy the haddock battered and frozen and they just deep fry to order. There were enough chips on the one order for all four of us but I'm pretty sure they aren't hand cut and double fried which is disappointing. The service was friendly and attentive and the ambiance makes you feel like you're in Atlantic Canada. If you have time, check out the little store that offers east coast products. read more

Atlantic Kitchen is a nice alternative to Joey's Seafood. More homey and a backhome East Coast feel you won't find in other YEG fish shops. The atmosphere is clean and bright. Orders are always are requested and the food is consistent. But be prepared to wait, it's not a quick in & out kind of diner. I'm originally from the West Coast so admittedly I'm picky about my seafood spots. Unfortunately, my experiences here have been okay but nothing here has made me excited or made me reminisce of the Seafood back home. I'd recommend fish & chips here for sure but wouldn't order the clam strips and calamari rings again. Go else where! We were in town and saw this place. We got excited about some good eats. We went in and the first waitress said she didn't have room for us. 3 adults, 3 kids. Shortly after another lady said they could make it work. Excellent.. so we thought. We sat for 1/2 an hour before we asked if we could have menus and/or water. The tables beside us who came in after were already eating. We ordered our food, 3 soups, 3 kid meals and 2 dinners. We waited 25 mins for the soup. While we're eating I ask if the kids can be served too. A total of 1.5 hours for us to be served and pay. Everyone around us who came in after had been served immediately and were cleared out at least 30 mins before us. I know what you're thinking, maybe our kids were bad or loud or messy, but they weren't. Hands down worst service any of us has ever experienced. AVOID! read more

The Atlantic Kitchen is one of the best Fish and Chip shops in the Edmonton area. Not only do they serve excellent fish and fries cut right their, but if you are from Newfoundland, you will find a little piece of back home. Jigs Dinner, Mushy Peas, to name just a couple of dinner items you will find there, plus they have an East Coast gift shop in the same building. Served with a smile and if they're aren't too busy, they have time for a word of back home. You will never be disappointed, you will not go away hungry! A true neighborhood treat! read more

I went to Atlantic Kitchen in Fort Saskatchewan today. As a lover of seafood I can't believe I never knew about this incredible place. I LOVE scallops, these were the best, Sylvia recommended exactly what I was talking about. I have had many scallops in my life, these were so good, the whole meal was. I might have to move to Ft. Saskatchewan, thank God we are only 20 minutes away! Great service, nice restaurant, lovely waitress. read more

They changed ownership here a while ago. The new owners have updated the restaurant itself, with new paint...floors etc but the same old wonderful hospitality and good food remains. They now serve traditional jigs dinner for those Newfies who are looking for a taste of home (oh and pineapple crush, birch beer and white cream soda....soon to be nacho cheezies). Still can't update it to 5 stars as I'm still a bit upset that it's imitation crab they use for crab bites. read more

It was a treat to go here! The staff are friendly and the food is good. And obviously they have some awesome food that you can't get anywhere else. I had liver and onions with chips (homemade btw!) and veggies. The veggies kind of disappointed as they were just cooked from frozen, but ah well the rest was great. My husband had the fried clams which he has been dying for for a couple of months now. They were delicious! My Papa had veal cutlets and really enjoyed them. He's a picky eater so I'm glad he was impressed with his meal. My meal and my papa's was $16 each and my hubs clams w chips was around $10 I think. They have tons of biscuits, chocolates, and pop you can only get on the east coast which made me really happy for my hubs who is from Cape Breton Island and always homesick. We will definitely be back to try more off the menu. So grateful for this little spot read more

I stopped at The Atlantic Kitchen just after 1:00 on Wednesday August 9th. The place was packed, but within a few minutes, a table was open. Everyone else was having fish and chips, which looked and smelled great, or the Newfoundland Jiggs Dinner (more on that later), or hot sandwiches. I became a rebel and ordered breakfast for lunch. Bacon and eggs, home fries, and toast. I always order my eggs over-medium. These were slightly over-cooked, just a bit. The bacon was perfectly crispy. Toast was nicely browned. Home fries were actually really good. Most places I leave half my home fries on the plate, but at The Atlantic Kitchen, I ate all of them! I had also reserved a Newfoundland Jiggs Dinner for takeout, to warm up for supper later. Even warmed up, it was all good! Turkey, salt meat, peas pudding, stuffing, turnip, potatoes, cabbage (great with the salt meat), carrots, big side of gravy, and cranberry sauce. It may seem a bit pricey, at $19.95, but ONE plate fed both my wife and I, and both of us were full afterwards. Every ounce was good! Though my wife doesn't like peas pudding, so she says it was all good except that. :) Next time, fish and chips! Oh, I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, because the wait staff are run off their feet. There were only two waitresses on shift for the Wednesday lunch rush, their busiest time of the week. Though the waitresses are VERY good, the place needs to hire one more. read more

Amazing Fish!!! The batter on the fish was exceptional and perfectly crispy!!! Best battered fish I've had in Alberta yet. My husband had the haddock and I had the halibut and both were awesome. Tartar sauce & coleslaw were also super good. Service was top notch! The manager also went out of her way to check in on everyone so you could really feel they cared about their customers. This is always worth the drive to Fort Saskatchewan. The food 100% top notch! This includes yesterday with the exception of my husband's Jiggs Dinner. I think the entire salt shaker fell in. Now I don't usually use a lot of salt myself so I do find things salty sometimes but even he said it was VERY salty, not salt meat salty but they added a lot of salt salty. I regret taking a friend's advice and coming for dinner one night a few months ago. There is nothing fresh about the food coming from the kitchen. I'm sure the salmon is prepackaged and frozen. The obligatory carrots and peas certainly came from a freezer bag and the minute rice on the side was definitely not worth savouring. If this is your idea of home cooking, I feel for you. We come here occasionally when we have a craving for fish. My daughter, who is a little picky, loves the food here as well. The restaurant is cosy and basic, with nice accents of Newfoundland to decorate the interior. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and went out of their way when we informed them that someone in our party has allergies. First time I have came here. Came on a recommendation from a coworker. My father is from newfoundland and couldnt find any good newfie food in the city. We came out to the fort to try the atlantic kitchen and was not disappointed. We had the fish cakes and my father said they brought him back home. Very hospitable staff and very friendly. The place is very small and cozy and even the other customers are very pleasant and make it a great place to eat at. I will definatley be returning. read more

The fish is still good. The chips weren't the best during a recent visit, but they are the soft and kind of limp chips that many Newfoundlanders seem to prefer. If you like that kind of chip, then you should be happy enough with the chips that you're likely to be served at The Atlantic Kitchen. Service is still very friendly. read more
