What bothers me is the fact that I received no sympathy card upon my mother's passing, just one month after moving her from the Vantage. Maybe it isn't policy to send a card when a resident doesn't pass away in a facility but it seemed strange since she had been there over six years. Even the person in charge of memory care commented on how long she had lived there. If it isn't policy then maybe it should be. I'm very disappointed in this facility after having a long relationship with the staff and caregivers. Very disappointed. I suppose since the money wasn't rolling in anymore they don't really care.

My grandfather is a resident in their memory care center, and I'll admit that I didn't really know…read morewhat to expect walking in. My mind immediately went to horror-movie scenes. Fortunately, my worries were completely unfounded. I came in at lunch, and chatted with the staff for a bit. They all seemed intelligent, compassionate, and helpful - they knew my grandmother (who was also visiting), greeted her by name, and were happy to see her. We went through the access-controlled door, and the residents seemed happy. The center was carpeted, there were plenty of seats people were sitting on, reading, talking with friends, etc. My grandfather was far more well-kempt than he ever was at home, and seemed in good spirits. I also loved that outside of every room, there were shadowboxes of information and memorabilia about each resident. It helps humanize each resident, even if they have advanced dementia, and I appreciated that. The staff and visitors should never forget that they're caring for engineers, doctors, soldiers, teachers, etc. Yelp's rating system says that 5 starts is "as good as it gets." I don't know if that's true here, because I don't have the experience necessary to compare. However, if you're looking for a memory care center for a loved one, be sure to check out Riverside.

The reason for 3 stars is the upper management communication is terrible. Numerous emails sent, maybe 1-2 responses. No VM or in a meeting ! They have had lots of change overs !!! The maintenance guys are great and Bert activities director. Care techs are kind but only a few really do all they should do. Families and residents pay lots of money so everything that is suppose to be done should be done. No one is unkind but laziness is coming through. Lately the rooms are not being cleaned daily as in trash, bed made general sweeping. Numerous!!!!!! Times!!!! Pay more to the good techs and get more help if needed! Hence the bad review. A suggestion is to get bigger bingo cards! It's assisted living . It's Not the paying residents problem , if low staff! Give more pay perhaps or get management to stay after work and do it. Better yet enough reviews on this matter may get the investors attention. It has not always been like this but going downhill . Perhaps future will be different. Maybe it's a phase.

This place literally neglected my mothers health and ultimately caused her death. There were times…read moreI would have to call to let them know that my mom was not her self and have to ask them to check in on her due to me being out of state and they obviously she was had been neglected and over looked. Never saw the house doctor the entire time she was there NEVER!!!!!!!!!!! When i had to finally insist that they take her to the hospital..... she had sepsis. uti, c-diff, was dehydrate and many other things. Naturally after her death, everyone there, wanted to say how much they loved my mother. Well BS!!!!!!!!! No the fuck yall didn't. if yall did yall would have took her state more seriously before it got to the point of no return. Did I mention she had aspiration Pneumonia when she arrived to the hospital? Some of the nurses were nice and others were not helpful at all. Also, we spoke with someone named Ashley when trying to get mom moved. She was not responsive and when I did finally speak with her she was not pleasant and seemed annoyed by the questions I was asking. I should have taken that as a red flag, but she wasn't a nurse and would not be taking care of my mom. If you truly care for your family please consider other options.
