I came to China Acupuncture Clinic, because my general practitioner had no answer or cure for some burning I had in my leg. I came here at the recommendation of my nephew, who is a swimmer, and regularly gets acupuncture. I am getting some relief after two visits. I am still not sure how long it will take. I was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy about a month ago and read that acupuncture could help with the recovery process. I called on a Friday and Dr Lu saw me on the following Saturday afternoon. After a month of seeing Dr Lu 2 times a week, I am seeing incredible progress. He was dedicated to the recovery process, and incorporating STIM with the needling has been beneficial. I saw Dr. Po-Chu Lu for the first time yesterday. We drove 2 hours to get to the clinic. I had no problem with his skill as a technician, but when it comes to listening and communicating this fell short. If you wish paternership in your healthcare decisions I would not recommend. I have had a great experience here! The procedure definitely helped me. I felt more relaxed, but energized at the same time. The session was even longer than 1 hour. My husband had been having lower back pain for more than a month and his family doctor would only prescribe him muscle relaxers and pain killers. We all know that this doesn't solve the problem. Therefore we decided to look for alternative solutions that doesn't require taking any more chemicals. After some research on the web, we came across this clinic with very few reviews. We were hesitant to try at first because of the very low number of reviews. However, we know that it takes more than one session to have his problem fixed, therefore we decided to try since it was the closest clinic to us. Dr. Lu was super nice over the phone and in person too. Since it wasn't our first experience with acupuncture, so we could tell that he knew what he was doing. Just after one treatment, my husband could actually get up from the chair without so much pain. After 4 consecutive sessions every 3-5 days, he was all well. I feel like this is a little misrepresented. The older guy that started this place is no longer there and the younger guy has purchased it. The ceiling tiles really need to be replaced - you notice these things when you're laying on your back for a while to let the needles do their thing. I have been to other acupuncture places in the past and they did not hurt, this actually hurt a little because I felt like he hammered the needles in and they seemed to be bigger needles than what I've had before. However, I wrote it off because I had never had electrical currents attached to the needles and figured they needed to be in deeper and maybe bigger needles. I went about 4 times. Once my stomach bruised so badly it took about 3 months for the bruises to completely go away. The young doctor is nice and does have Chinese herbs he recommends but they aren't costly. Oh, this place is CASH or CHECK ONLY!! I think they do accept some insurance but my plan doesn't cover it. The first time was $80 I think and follow up's were $70. He seems pretty busy and legit. The treatments didn't work for me and I was going weekly and when he told me to come. I just felt like I was spending too much money to not see any relief. Might work for you though! read more

I had quit smoking and came in do to having anger issues from withdrawing. I was a first timer absolutely hate any needles so wasn't too thrilled about it but gave it a shot. The doctor was awesome at what he is good at and made sure I was comfortable at all times. I did 5 visits and it did make a difference with my quitting. I went in twice a week and it helped me with my anger calmed me down for the stress of work and while everyone else that I worked with still smoked I had no craving issues at all. I woke up wth Bell's palsy on Saturday December 21st, 2019. I immediately started doing research on what was the best and fastest way to recover from it. Luckily I found out that acupuncture is a great method and found some great reviews on Dr.Lu so I emailed him directly to see if he could help and he responded quickly that I can come see him that Monday morning. He was very nice and pleasant and took some pics just so he can see the the damage and then how the healing process went from there. I started off going twice a week for the first two weeks and once a week by the third week. I can feel and see the difference right away. By the second week my face was already looking way better and I had sensation on most of my face. By the third week I can talk a lot more clear. I still struggle wth eye dryness and my lower lip is still droopy but I will continue my therapy for at least another week. I highly recommend Dr.Lu. I've been going to Dr. Lu for years. Every time I have chronic pain that time and ibuprofen can't cure, I pay him a visit. My left arm and shoulder were in pain and couldn't comb my hair without bending my whole body to my left side. I could raise my left arm only to my waist. The muscle relaxant I was prescribed gave me temporary relief and was woozy in the mornings. I'm not new to China Acupuncture as I was treated by Dr. Zhang way back in '05 for my thyroid problem with satisfied results. I was surprised to find that a young doctor took over the practice and with hesitation I made an appointment. I found the young doctor, Dr. Paul Lu, to be very personable, polite, asking questions about my pain and with a plan directly treated me. He was sensitive to my needs always asking if I was comfortable when he saw me twitch when a needle was placed in my skin. He said the treatment would take at least 3 weeks with twice a week visits. I understood my pain wasn't going away with one visit but I honestly felt some relief and felt positive Dr. Lu could help me get my arms fully functioning without ingesting medications. With every treatment he would ask how flexible my arm was getting. He suggested using his own mix of herbal spray with hot pad on my shoulder and arm. When the 3 weeks were up I could finally raise my left arm over my head with full function!! Dr. Lu said the treatments were over. I felt he was truly happy for the progress I made and that he didn't take advantage by continuing treatments even after I felt so much better. I've seen him since for other treatments on my upper and lower back and my right knee with the help of the herbal spray and hot pad. This is not acupuncture! I went there for neck pain and left the clinic worse... it felt like I was hit by a truck! I've been going to acupuncture in a different state for years, and this place felt nothing like acupuncture. I left with dry blood all over my forehead from the needle sticks, the way he sticks the needles is very wrong and painful... he leaves you in a tiny room with no relaxing music and turns on the stimulator machine, which just numbs you... it's awful!!! I have been seeing acupuncture doctors for thirty years and am very picky about the care I receive. I've found that the best in acupuncture are doctors trained in Asia. Dr. Lu trained in Taiwan and is truly exceptional. I'm handicapped and have had difficulty walking for the last nine years. Dr. Lu listened to me about my issues before treating me and immediately after the first session, I was walking with only minimal pain. I've had four sessions with him and I'm walking better than I have in years. And my pain has been greatly diminished. I've been doing so well that I'm seeing him once every two weeks, which is amazing. Most acupuncturists that I've seen in the past want to see me at least once a week, usually a couple times a week. excellent! to prepare for tendon repair surgery occupational therapy, including laser, was prescribed by a surgeon to help reduce the inflammation. i decided to also try acupuncture and, after the initial treatment, the inflammation was visibly reduced. the occupational therapist said the acupuncture may have had better results than the laser, and the surgeon said the reduction in inflammation made her job a little easier. dr. lu is friendly and professional, i never had to wait for scheduled treatments, my experience was positive and pleasant, and the treatment had the desired, lasting results. i will definitely return if needed and gladly recommend china acupuncture clinic to family and friends. read more
