This will be a bittersweet review. I am someone who considers marriage as sacred. Unfortunately…read moremy ex-wife of 25 years didn't believe so during the last few months with her adultery. And with her not willing to save our union, she left me no other choice than petition for divorce. My assigned attorney Keith Johnson and his assistant Crystal Aparicio, in a sympathetic tone explained to me that despite my feelings, this needed to be treated as a business transaction with my interest taking precedent. The result was a final divorce decree that took place faster than the minimum 30-days; my pension left untouched, and stipulation that I could live with. Yes, that whole time felt like a living hell, but the staff at the firm were always available to contact and made the whole process as smooth as possible. I would never recommend needing a divorce attorney, but if there is no other choice - please contact these folks. They provide a degree of light during a dark time in life, and I thank them.

He kept things in a true perspective of what is actually possible, and what is just a hope for the future. I recommend him and he is just a very nice guy as well. He is licensed in Utah & California. This update to my original review of the law firm of J.D. Milliner is in response to J.D…read more Milliner's post of 9/2/2020. J.D. Milliner claims that my review of his law firm was largely based on information obtained from a rather unreliable source. I find this to be quite comical considering I based my review on my own personal interactions with the employees of his firm along with emails as well as invoices that were sent to me for payment of his firms work both when I was in fact a client of his firm as well as when his firm was retained to represent the client that his firm represented at the time this review was originally posted. These emails and invoices covered a time span of close to one year and came from the attorneys and employees of his own firm. I based my review of his law firm on what was supplied to me by his own employees as well as the personal interactions that occurred for close to one year with the employees and attorney's in his own office so I guess in essence J.D. Milliner is telling everyone who reads his reply to my original review of his law firm that his employees are the rather unreliable source that provided me with the information that I based my review on. J. D. Milliner states that the billing practices and procedures of his law firm are clearly set forth and that his firm provides detailed monthly statements each month to their clients. I also find this somewhat questionable considering in December of 2019 I personally disputed 2 invoices in a meeting with J. D. Milliner that were submitted to me as well as the client that was being represented by his firm due to unclear and questionable charges on the bills that were submitted by 2 of his attorney's that were working the client's case he refers to at that time. The result of the dispute was J.D. Milliner himself making the 1 particular bill in his own words "Go away" J.D. Milliner also states in his post that he must follow the instructions of his actual clients or withdraw from the representation of that client. This statement also comes into question due to the fact that the client he is referring to in this case submitted to him along with the attorney assigned to represent her as well as the paralegal employed by him a detailed letter that contained written and precise instructions of what the client wanted J.D. Milliner to do regarding their representation of her as their client. 6 days later the client in question received a letter from J.D. Milliner and assoc. informing her of their decision to withdraw from representing her as their client. In the letter that was sent to the client one of the reasons that was cited for withdrawal of representation was due to the bad review that I had posted here regarding his law firm. In summery it seems that the law firm of J.D. Milliner and associates retaliates against the clients they represent by withdrawing from representation of them when anyone associated with that client exercises their right to free speech and the right to review his law firm regardless if the review is good or bad. This is the worst experience I've ever had with a business. I googled to find an attorney and got…read moreJeremy Eveland. He's wonderful on the phone. I explained my situation and decided to hire him. I didn't have the money yet but I called back a month later when I did to pay him and proceed with the help I needed. I was not allowed to talk to him without paying $75, so I just told the receptionist I'd pay the $1000 retainer plus $179 for the filing fee and he could call me for the details needed to file my "lift of stay" so we could evict some people that have been squatting in one of our properties for 8 months now. It took a week and a half for anyone from his office to call me. When he finally did, he was very apologetic and restored my faith in him and his firm. I was told we had to give the other party 30 days to object to our filing. I waited and found at the 30 day mark that they had filed what I paid for but then immediately withdrew it and did nothing for me. I lost 30 days and $1179 on a very important transaction in which we stand to lose about $200,000 in equity if we don't complete the proper legal steps to evict the people squatting in our home. I spoke to Jeremy after the other party's attorney told me what was on record at the court (nothing) and he was confused and said he'd look into it. His partner Ryan is the one that was supposed to complete the filing. I gave him 2 weeks to look into it and emailed to find out what resolution he had come to. No response. I waited another week and emailed again, still nothing. So basically, I paid $1179 and lost a month for absolutely nothing and this firm is unwilling to make any of it right. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!

I just wanted to point out that the exact same response was provided by Jeremy Eveland. He obviously didn't read my review or take it seriously. Again this shows their lack of concern even regarding my complaint(s). "Mathew, I was just notified that you posted negative reviews of me and my firm on the internet. Please explain why you did that? How can we resolve this amicably? Thank you, Jeremy" That's the amount of respect they have for someone writing reviews? If you want to know why I write a bad review.... Try reading the review before sending out a response. Oh and the good news is that they had contracted at 25% discount as I found their firm through an Employee Assistance Program, and well, they charged me the full amount of fees. Again, I recommend going to someone else somewhere else. They have no respect for their clients and even the disgruntled clients don't even get any attention regarding a horrible experience.
