The Yard is on the lower level of the Sheraton Austin Hotel and is a nice spot for brunch. I came here for breakfast and you have the option to get the breakfast buffet or a la carte from the menu. I ordered the Two Way Eggs which comes with potatoes, toast, and choice of bacon, pork sausage or ham. They also bring out ketchup as a condiment. I also had the tomato juice and makesure you ask for ice because they will bring it out warm. It was confusing at first because we had two different waiters who didn't seem in sync with each other about our orders but everything was seamless was we cleared it up. The restaurant also has a terrace that overlooks a park and string lights and umbrellas. It also has lounge area. I hope to get drinks here next time. read more

Food was ok. I was disappointed on the menu I looked the place up before I went and the menu was different. Less options and boring (covid menu from what I'm told). Sheraton Hotel at the Capitol, here for a convention, bombings all around us meant we stayed right at or around the hotel. It was necessary and easy to eat here at least once a day. The lunch buffet $15 is sandwich, soup and salad that changes daily. Food has been excellent, light, and tasty, and reasonably priced every time at $10 to $25 on average.There is a standard limited menu available along with the buffet that includes burger, veggie burger, pulled pork, smoked turkey, and various salads. The bar is adjacent and handles drinks and overflow patrons. They had gluten free toast on hand, and the chef went out and bought gluten free bums once he had a gluten free request. Flatbreads are no longer on the menu, but the chef did a special request and made one for my husband anyway. Excellent restaurant! Excellent staff! read more

Classic hotel restaurant food. Man, I wanted to like this so much more than I did. After seeing a few dynamite veg options, I was sold. Service- meh. I was sitting at the bar and there were about seven other people sitting there as well. Not a lot. It was about 6:30p and we were the only people in the joint. I was expecting service to be on fire due to the lack of patrons, expect I kept getting overlooked. Maybe it was because I was reading a book, but you should still check on me and realize when I'm trying to flag you down or making eye contact with you that I'm ready to order. I sat down, and was greeted and given only a bar menu. I asked for the full menu and never was given it - so I looked it up on my phone. Four other people got served and asked how they were doing, but not me. Finally when someone was filling a beer I stopped the bartender and asked about ciders and her response as she was walking away was "has no one helped you yet" correct. I placed my order for beverage and food and it all came out at the same time. Again, very odd. I ate about half my plate and no one asked how it was, if I wanted anything else or anything in between. Needless to say, I was highly underwhelmed and not impressed. I ordered the cauliflower steak with mixed veggies and there was far too much balsamic based sauce on the plate for it to be fully edible. This was basically half a head of cauliflower not cut and arranged on the plate. It wasn't even grilled or had that steak vibe to it. After finally catching down another bartender to cash me out, I promptly left and won't be coming back. read more

I stayed at the hotel and since it was hot outside (for my taste) so instead of walking to 11th street I came here. The waitress was very nice which helped a lot. I immediately notice the balsamic grilled portobello along with sweet potato fries. I took one bite and noticed it had a lot of balsamic with it. It overpowered the sandwhich. I tried to like it but I didn't want to be a bother and ask for something else. I ate the fries which were ok, it's very hard to produce the perfect sweet potato fries so I don't complain about that. The waitress came with the bill and asked if I cared for the sandwhich, I told her I didn't and I apologized as I don't like complaining about food. She happily switched it up and I had a basic burger. No complaints from here. Moral of the story stick to what is recommended, I hear the tacos and burger. Do not venture off. read more

I came in with a party of 9. One hour later they started bringing our food out. When we were all served with the exception of me, they started bringing out our appetizers. No, I'm serious... then after an ass chewing and another 25 minutes I got my 2 carnita tacos. No green salsa like they were advertised with. That took another 10 minutes. The servers are good. And the food is ok. But the menu online is COMPLETELY wrong. We went there for a graduation celebration and we're SO disappointed in the Covid menu they are still sticking with. A mixed bag. I'm staying at the Sheraton Austin for meetings and had dinner two nights in a row at the Yard. Short ribs and cauliflower/carrot mash - good for my lo-carb diet. Food was good. Second night, a comedy of errors. Order salmon - 5 minutes later I'm told they are out, but mahi-mahi and halibut are available (but not on the menu). I went with the pork chop, only to be told 5 minutes later that they were out. Finally went with the filet mignon, which was properly cooked medium rare. First time in Austin and this place knows how to set the tone. The atmosphere at this restaurant is amazing and it is attached to the hotel which is also very nice. I went with the fish tacos which was amazing flavor and it was so good i had to order another two lol. I stay at the Sheraton frequently when in Austin for business trips. This is a great bar/restaurant when it comes to hotel bars and service is great. Burger is kind of boring, but good ingredients. A 6/10. The bad: Prices are outrageous. I paid $28.90 for one beer, a burger, and a modest tip. read more

Grabbed brunch here while staying at The Sheraton. I'm usually a little skeptical of hotel restaurants but our experience was fantastic. Seriously the best service we have received in a long time. We ate breakfast here while staying at the Sheraton. Buffet is $18 and lots of gluten filled items. Gravy, biscuits, sweet rolls, cereal, etc. There were eggs, bacon and fruit that someone with gluten sensitivity could eat, but it sure is expensive for a narrowed selection. We decided to try the restaurant in the hotel because we didn't want to drive around looking for dinner. We were greeted by friendly staff. The food was amazing. The burger was cooked perfectly served on a fresh bun. The truffle fries were very fragrant with shaved Parmesan sprinkled throughout. The guacamole was made to order and served with house made chips. Chopped salad had avocado and bacon bits in every bite. The restaurant is beautifully decorated in a very nice setting. The huge windows looks out to the large outdoor seating area, which is surrounded by a nice grassy area. read more
