It's shaded and decorated with wisteria garlands, and there's a TV playing a chill mix of old and new music--not too loud, just enough to set a good vibe. We ordered two dinner platters--one beef, one lamb--and they were stacked. Each came with rice, salad, baba ghanoush, and hummus. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and the portions were huge--I easily got a second meal out of mine. We also tried the moussaka and it was yummmaay! Lebanese food doesn't appear to be super common around Austin, so it's awesome to have a spot like this. Rayan is a food truck with an enclosed eating area onsite (outdoor but enclosed). The food reminds me of the meals I would have at an ex-boyfriend's house as his family is Syrian and the food and flavors are quite similar. The tabbouleh is my favorite. I dislike when too much lemon is used causing it to have a strong, bitter taste. All of the flavorings are perfectly balanced. I saw this food truck across from my apartment and had it on my radar for a long time. I had just celebrated the apostles feast and it was time to eat some meat! As I arrived to the food truck the gentleman working (who turned out to be the owner) informed me that he had just cleaned and turned off the grill . It was 10:45 and they closed at 11:00. I offered to come another night but he insisted I stay and just warned it would take a few extra minutes. I am glad I stayed! The chicken shish tawouk was absolutely delicious. Parking is just a single street or the grass parking beside it that I couldn't figure out how to get to. There are a few tables as well as a covering. Food came out very quickly. Like within 5 minutes quick. There's a guy who might come and tell you some jokes. Just a warning bc he was there when I was there. I was indifferent but others should be aware. I did grab this to go do I have no pics of my food but it was a beef shawarma. The first bite was everything I thought it would be. The tang of pickles and the flavorful beef was perfect. Even moreso once I added the red sauce. Throughout the wrap it wasn't consistently this way. Still good overall. Wow, were in the area (KMFA event). Walked over to this amazing Middle Eastern restaurant parked next to a car lot. Surprised by the nice picnic tables and fire pit. The chef/operator was super kind. I made the mistake of ordering here through an Uber eats promotion where everyone gets screwed. They tempt you with buy one get one free specials and almost every time I fall for this, the food always arrives substandard. The restaurant gets swamped and the food you get is just meh? This happened to me. I ordered the item referred to as roasted chicken and an order of hummus. So I'm thinking I get another set free so I can easily get a meal for two for the price of one. Just the roast chicken was just a plain roasted chicken wrap. I was just bland chicken with some pickles to give it some pizzaz. The fries gave it some body but overall just added to the bland taste. The hummus was ok. It was creamy and I used it as a dip for my wrap and without it - the meal would be for those on a limited diet. One thing I really wish I had done was not assume that the hummus would come right something to dip like pita. I'm giving this place 3 stars because I horribly fell for the Uber eats promotion and if I hadn't I probably would've ordered something nice on the menu.
