We started with the Pretzel Bites and for dinner we ordered the Perch Platter, Walleye, Taco Salads, Sandy's Shrimp, Summer Salad and Chicken Pasta. Everyone enjoyed their dinners, portions were large and presentation was done well. All the shrimp entrees had a large portion of shrimp which you do not see everywhere. I had order Perch the night before and the Crews Nest was definitely the superior dinner. Perch was lightly breaded and cooked just right, so the fish was tender and flaky. The taco salads were off the lunch menu and they still made them for our table. Overall it was a lovely dinner and the service was attentive and prompt. If you have the opportunity it is worth a visit to the Crews Nest.

On this particular morning at 6:30 am it was just us and the seagulls. It is also nice to take a break from Cedar Point when it gets crowded in the afternoon, and walking on the beach is our favorite way to relax. Although the water was too cold for swimming on this trip, in the summer heat it is very refreshing to take a swim in the lake.

Some years they have various activities, like games on the beach, or festivals, like lit up blow ups for a light festival and silent disco. It is a great place if you want to swim in the lake and you have beach access if you are a guest at Breakers. This lake tends to be a bit chilly when ever I go, but temps might vary. This is a fun place to take a break, or if you can get here without going to the park, a fun time to eat at Breakers and play at the beach.

We attended Golden Spikes 2024 tourney here…read more Good news... It's a well maintained and managed facility. Games ran mostly on time, announcers did a good job during games. Maintenance crew did a good job. Dugouts were clean and well maintained. Small bleacher areas at almost all fields. Bathrooms were clean and stocked. There's a ropes course, putt putt golf, and nice playground on site. There are several nice batting cages. Rules about behavior for adults and kids are strict. Bad news... Umps were late a couple of times, frustrating when teams are ready to play on time. The tourney tshirt vendor was out of popular shirt sizes on day 1. (Sports Force probably has little, or no, control over these two things). Biggest complaint is that the posted rules say no coolers, no outside food or drinks - not even water. When you come to the field to stay for half a day or more, it stinks to pay $7 for a slice of pizza and $5 for a bottle of water, especially considering the $11 per day entry fee and steep price to enter a team to play here. With the allowance of outside food and water, this place would easily get 5 stars. Great place to play!
