Very intentional signage, recreation / playground, swing bench seating, and restroom facilities all make the beach-going experience better. Huntington Beach has less of a crowd in the Winter, but it is just as alluring a Summertime visits. Huntington Beach is directly across the street from the local forest and nature center (part of the Cleveland MetroParks).

But if you're in Vermilion or have spent your summers there your whole life as I have, it is easily your favorite beach, even if it's not as big and glamorous as Northeast Ohio area beaches. I wouldn't recommend coming here during a "popular" time because it can be very overwhelming. I love this little beach because it's clean, well-maintained, and the water is nice to swim in. Once you get over the insanely uneven rocks on the way to the water, its soft sand. Wear water shoes if you have them. I love to bring a floatie and just cruise around in the water. In the background you'll find a grass hill which houses the local Vermilion Maritime Museum. I've never been in there, but imagine kids will love it. There's limited parking here, so be prepared to walk a little. The beach also has a little rinse-off station before you head to your car. Pack a cooler, chairs and towels and enjoy this cute little beach, a gem in Vermilion.

Every thing about this place is truly blessed by God, the counselors ,the staff, the buildings, the campers , and it honestly has been there perfect example of humans from around the country and different ages connect and strengthen their foundation in Christ in a modern world. I have made so many friends who I don't see at all during the school year but treat me like no time has passed when we see each other again the next summer I can't wait to become a counselor and share Jesus's love to the younger generation as was done for Me. The lodge house was built in the 1920's. It's old, but well maintained with hardwood floors, lots of guest rooms, and an old style lodge style living room. The community bathrooms are updated. They are very nice with stalls and showers, and shower chairs are available. The rooms are nice size, and have a full bed and a bunk bed. There is a dresser and lamp and overhead light in each. I entered the lodge from the front door, and there are steps into the building and to the second floor. Across the street are the meeting buildings with dining room and kitchen. The beach neighborhood is nice to walk around. From the beach you can see Cedar Point.

Plenty of parking for cars, boat trailers, and golf carts. We were there on a Friday afternoon, so it wasn't super crowded and everyone was kind of spread out across the beach. We saw a blue heron, and my friend fell asleep on her towel. We also went back to hike some of the North Loop trail. A good time was had by all, minus the incident with the poorly behaved off leash golden retriever. There's almost always one of those, though..... Note that the beach is not technically dog friendly, but there were a few there.

Has many stairs that you have to carefully use to get to the beach. It often is very slippery. The waves make things wet. It isn't much of a beach. This is pretty rocky. Swimming is allowed. The water is very dangerous looking. It's not a place for amateurs. This also isn't just a dog park. It's okay for people to hang out at. They have a few tables at the entrance before stairs. It can be hard to get here. Parking lot is across the street. The park is like someone's back yard and there's many locals who seem to like to be here whenever.

There is a small entrance to drive in and a beautiful shaded parking lot right next to the sand so you can drive up and step right onto the beach. There was even a lemonade food truck parked there. Woot! nice The geography is fascinating here due to the nautical entrance from the US to Canada. There is a canal where boats float in and register with customs. Watching the boat traffic in and out is fun! The beach is large and deep as well with tons of room, but not much for shade after you leave the parking area. The water looked ok and fairly clean but check the swimming reports in the area before jumping in, as all the beaches in the area are prone to warnings and closures occasionally.
