The Backyard Reservoir feels a bit more polished than the other establishments in the Z Compound. It doesn't have that careless, rough, street look that the other
establishments have. That's probably understandable because The Backyard Reservior's menu mostly serves like an Italian bistro, with pizza, pasta, and sandwiches. The food looks more put-together than a typical hole-in-the-wall find, and that's what made it interesting for me. However, I wasn't that impressed with their food. I ordered their La Onioni pasta, which was mushroom and bacon in cream sauce, and it tasted just fine. It wasn't anything new. The cream was too heavy for me and needed more flavor and a hint more of salt. Their Iced Tea though, P100 for a pitcher, was a pretty good steal. It didn't taste like it came from a powder mix which is always a good thing. All in all, The Backyard Reservoir could improve more on their flavors. read more
