This is a great place to visit to just meet the most friendliest and accommodating people in the world. They offer a free tour of the Baillie house. They are very proud to share the history about the home. As a person who did not grow up in Canada , I found it fascinating how people lived in the western world in the 1930's. What's even better is you get to touch and try some of the things they put on display: my daughter liked the mechanical mixer :)
In the same location, just outside the house, you can use the open space as a picnic area. They provide chairs and tables. They even offered free lemonade to the kids. You can play the giant jenga, corn toss, and other activities.
The visitor center/store offers ice cream and many unique treats for people looking to discover a new treasure to own. Many of these items have been donated tot eh city.
I'm so glad we came and explored this place. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to learn about Merritt and a little about BC history through show and tell. read more
