(sorry if it sounds like I'm writing a Zillow listing, but I'm…read morejust trying to get this to show up in search results if anyone else is curious LOL) OUTLETS: Plenty of outlets!!! There's a set of steps with pillows on each step with a block of about six outlets beside them, and a really comfy, sinky couch (plus an ottoman and two comfy looking armchairs and a big table in the middle) with a set of two outlets on the wall and a star shaped power strip sticking out of the ground with six outlets coming out of it. There are also regular tables and it seems like there are outlets beside them as well. WIFI: The wifi is open (no password necessary), even though they have a password listed where you pick up your food (it's just Sanctuary Coffee). I tried to use one of the locked ones (the only one that made sense), but the wifi password didn't work, so I'm not sure why they have one listed. Regardless, albeit not the fastest wifi I've ever used, it's incredibly doable. I have been working remote here for 1.5 hrs and had almost no issues. MENU: For LA, relatively cheap. I am not a coffee or tea drinker, so I got the peach Italian soda, which was yummy. I believe it was about $4.89, which is not bad at all. I went to And Destroy in the Highland Park-ish area, and I believe an Italian soda with cream (cream is free here) was maybe $7-8. I'm used to paying more for drinks because the specialty (non coffee and tea) drinks are usually pricey, but this was one of the cheapest things on the menu. Also, you can claim a free pastry with your email and first name on their website (it sends you a voucher, just show the email). I got the banana bread, which was fine. I would've gotten zucchini, but it wasn't chocolate chip zucchini. ATMOSPHERE: Not too loud, the music is nice and chill and not very loud. There's cute art on the walls and homey looking lamps. It's the quintessential living room coffee shop, perhaps even rivaling Republik Coffee in Burbank in comfiness, noise level, aesthetic, and price (which is a bummer, because I likely will never be back - we just happened to be in North Pomona today, and I have no idea when we'd ever elect to drive this far again LOL). PARKING: It's in a little strip mall, so there's an actual aboveground lot with plenty of free parking (at least I think it's free, I got dropped off so I didn't pay much attention). Overall, I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking to cowork in a cozy atmosphere for relatively cheap in the North Pomona area. It checks all of my boxes except distance from home. I hope this review helps someone, because I always try to find this information on Yelp about new places to visit and it can be very difficult to find! BATHROOM: I believe there are two single person bathrooms like not stalls just one bathroom. Cute art and aesthetic inside, there are hooks on the walls for your stuff. Both myself and my daughter…read morecalled, (the "are too busy to care for kitties AND answer the phone, so please send a text"), so we texted, created an account online (because they want to know you're "actually serious" about adopting before you can even MEET the cat you're considering adopting.) (I do understand and respect prioritizing the mental health of the cats, but I'm sure the cats, especially the adults, would prefer a compromise, like being required to fill out a one page form on the spot before meeting). Every serious adopter that goes into a pet store and sees one of this organization's animals that they are interested in adopting and is told they have to go through this and this and this step before they can even interact with the cat and know if the personality is a fit. Everyone loses out. In my experience, even if you do go through all the steps, they won't call you back, and a cat that could have had a home I know had that opportunity taken from them because of the seemingly righteous or superior attitude of the rescue people. They surely know how many people go in and out of those cat and kitten rooms at the Animal Friends of the Valley shelter. Having a few people go in one at a time to meet one particular cat, I don't feel, is any more dangerous or unhealthy for the cat than them losing the opportunity to be adopted and eventually being put down. I just don't understand rescues like this. If you're too small to actually help, then let somebody else do it.

I had a beyond expectation experience with Mindy and her daughter, even though at the end I didn't…read morechoose to go with the adorable and sweet boys Teddy and Khabib they brought for me to meet and interact with. Mindy provided a very personable, warm and extremely responsive service, made every effort to respond to my inquiry on Adopt-A-Pet and approving my application as well as just answering my questions and chatting with me about my potential cat baby's personality traits and his background story. She responded to emails as late as 11PM on a weekend and her demeanor was always welcoming and reassuring, like an old, caring friend. Mindy's words and actions convey that she truly truly love all of her rescued cat babies and she only wants what's best for them and she works extremely hard to find them good homes. I was very sad that neither cat babies from her rescue matched the particular personality I was looking for (I was trying to fill this big hole in my heart with the tragic loss of a stray cat named Cookie I cared for) and I really wished that given all the hard work she and her daughter put into, I'd adopt either Teddy or Khabib. Despite these big, affectionate sweet boys were not the best match I was searching for, I don't think any less of them, I sincerely hope they will find their forever home they deserve and I cannot be more grateful for Mindy's time, patience and understanding she's extended me and my family. If I had more capacity for an additional cat baby in the future after finding THE ONE, Mindy and her rescue is the first place I'd check out. Their organization supports many local needy families with education, clothes, and financial assistance. The architecture itself is a contrast to euro-anglo-Claremont, and showcases indigenous mud-based architecture. The bilingualism of this organization demonstrates the riches of California and especially its hardworking and community-spirited Latino peoples. All grown right there on the property and cultivated with a love for healthy eating and respect. I was thrilled to have landed there. Fruits and veggies and herbs are not cheap in the grocery store and as I am coming to learn are often genetically modified and coated with who knows what kind of chemicals and pesticides. I loved the fact in First of all the place is huge. There is a Methodist church in the front then you take a long winding road with some turns the property was beautiful and I had one of my dogs with me who was recently attacked by a much bigger dog and was clearly traumatized by the incident. Scared to go outside and body language spoke for him. Dog owners know how to read and recognize their pets To watch my sweet little soul mate excited to be outside sniffing everything so many types of plants and vegetation birds singing, butterflies and bumble bees, up and down a few paths we explored. The young man told me that I'm welcome to come back they are open Monday thru Friday and if I wanted to come everyday that would fine too I left with 2 grocery bags full of wholesome and healthy produce and my dog and I left with a little more pep in our step due to our adventure in nature at this incredible place.

After several return visits later, he advised me that it hadn't shown up yet. A few weeks later I found it at home and let them know. Shadow is about 11 years old (my kids forget she's older), has only one eye, and is very easy to recognize. She isn't just a dog to us--she has been part of our family for years. We searched for her every day after she went missing, put up signs, knocked on doors, checked local shelters, and never gave up looking. When we finally found her listing, we learned she had already been adopted. We completely understand that the shelter cannot release the adopters' personal information, and this is not directed at the family who adopted her. If anything, we believe they likely opened their hearts believing they were giving a homeless dog a loving home. Our only hope is that this message somehow reaches them. If you recently adopted a one-eyed black Yorkie named Shadow from Inland Valley Humane Society, please know that she has a family who has loved her deeply for many years and has been desperately searching for her. She has a little Shih Tzu brother named Chewy who misses her, and our home has felt empty without her. Shadow has been with us through so many memories. We were there when she survived a terrible dog attack that cost her an eye. We cared for her, loved her, and watched her recover. During my senior year of high school I was the president of Upland High School's Key Club and I was…read morehonored to join in on some of the Upland Foothill Kiwanis Meetings. Amongst the many breakfasts I intruded on, this special breakfast meeting at OPARC really opened my eyes about the world around us. OPARC (Ontario Pomona Association for Retarded Citizens) is a nonprofit organization centralized in the IE (Inland Empire) created to help those with disabilities and their families. We were given a tour of the facilities and we were able to see how OPARC was able to put these people into different programs (depending on their situation). They have a "variety of programs for people with Down Syndrome, epilepsy, autism, cerebral palsy, and mental retardation" (oparc.org). One thing that I still remember to this day is when we entered a room where all they did was putting an item into the plastic packaging and sealing it up. The faculty member at OPARC explained that these simple activities are so simple and easy that an average person would probably be unwilling to do it, especially for less than minimum wage. OPARC takes those simple tasks and with government aid, they are able to pay these disabled workers a lesser pay doing these simply BUT USEFUL and necessary work to contribute to society and to give these people meaning to their lives. That is just one of many examples of the things that OPARC does to help those with disabilities. Their mission statement is: "Enabling People with Disabilities to Achieve Their Full Potential" and this is such a valiant cause!! People with disabilities deserve every right to be emotionally fulfilled with their lives and OPARC is doing a wonderful job helping them with that despite the setbacks they are forced to face. If you're ever looking for somewhere to donate to, this is a great cause! Or maybe just do some research about it and be less ignorant about the world around us :)
