I stopped by Sanctuary Coffee and ordered the Vanilla Protein Latte. It was good, but it fell somewhere in the middle compared to all the coffee shops I've tried. It wasn't bad, but it also didn't really stand out or surprise me in any way. The biggest downside for me was the price. A regular size latte came out to $8.75, which is more expensive than many other local coffee shops I've visited. At that price, I was hoping for something a little more memorable. On the positive side, the staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the coffee shop itself is spacious with plenty of seating, making it a nice place to relax or get some work done. I would still be willing to come back and give them another try next time I'll order one of their specialty lattes and see if that changes my opinion.

I was constantly driving by this coffee shop & finally had the urge to go inside. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of space this shop has. Definitely a great place to study, meet with a group, and just hang out. The baristas were very nice providing us with honest thoughts about the different drinks we had questions on. The coffee was absolutely perfect! Both coffees were perfectly balanced with the flavors and the hidden notes in the espresso. I will be back to try more flavors but please stop by this coffee shop with a great mission & vision for the community!

I enjoyed the space. It's clean and open. The had multiple options for seating areas, and games available. The banana bread was okay and the Spanish latte was pretty good. Service was a little brief and didn't come across as friendly as other establishments but it doesn't deter me from a future visit, for now

The moment I entered, great friendly service. So many great suggestions. I went with the macadamia coconut iced latte half sweet. It was amazing!! I am definitely returning and I encourage others to stop by and check it out! The paintings are beautiful, the inside area is clean and aesthetically pleasing, with so much space and a conference room for projects and privacy. I'll definitely be back! Oh yeah, it's a non profit and they might be losing the space, so definitely come and support

The first thing about this coffee that I love is that they are non-profit! I just love that they are contributing back to the community. I wanted to grab a quick coffee before heading home after trail run at Marshall Canyon. It is located next to Sprouts Market with plenty of parkings and small shops. The coffee shop is spacious and plenty tables and chairs to sit and enjoy. I see a lot of people bring their laptops to work. Their menu is simple, coffee, matcha, tea , also some non caffeinated drinks. I got the Coffee of the month which is the Banana cream cold brew. Oh it was yummy! The barista who took my order were very patient and friendly because I took some time to decide. Someone actually recommended the dirty chai and said it's the BEST. I might have to come back to try it next time.

Sanctuary Coffee is such a gem -- and even better, it's a non-profit café where 100% of the profits support charities and local communities. That alone makes it worth visiting, but the experience itself was just as great. I ordered one of their drinks of the month (July), the Blue Rose Sweet Tea, and it was delicious -- refreshing and not overly sweet. The staff was super friendly, and the bathroom was clean, which I always appreciate. Surprisingly, it wasn't too busy for a Saturday morning around 11am. There's plenty of seating, a calm atmosphere, and free Wi-Fi, making it a perfect spot to relax or get some work done. Amazing mission, great drinks, and a welcoming space -- I'll definitely be back!

Espresso double shot. Strong and good. First time here. Very cool place. The weather inside here is very nice.

Very comfortable atmosphere. Relaxing has a mixture of living library, coffee is great the name fits. Great place

Love the simplicity of this place. It was quiet and a nice place to work. It's quite a large space. Food is great.

I used to go to this coffee shop when it was across the street years ago, I hadn't gone back in so long, I noticed they moved here to this location...just as big and always clean! Customer service was great. I was so sad to hear that if they don't fundraise a certain amount, they will have to shut down end of May, since the landlord increase the rent! Hopefully everyone as a community can contribute a bit to help a good cause...anyhow, I ordered a dirty chai and a cinnamon scone and my friend ordered a matcha. My dirty chai was excellent! I had never tried matcha so I can't give my opinion on that but she said she didn't really like it. Other than that it's a great place to meet up with friends and catch up!

Sanctuary Coffee lives up to its name--it's a peaceful, welcoming space with great energy and even better drinks. I ordered the matcha latte with almond milk, and it was absolutely perfect--earthy, smooth, and not overly sweet. I really appreciate that their matcha isn't pre-sweetened like so many other coffee shops--you can actually taste the quality. Ben was amazing and took the time to share that Sanctuary is a nonprofit supporting the local community. That mission adds so much depth to the experience--you can feel the heart behind everything they do. The space is cozy and beautifully designed, with natural light, comfy seating, and an inviting, creative vibe. Whether you're working, catching up with a friend, or just need a quiet moment, it's the perfect spot. The staff is kind, the service is thoughtful, and the menu has great plant-based options. I would absolutely go out of my way to visit this place again. Sanctuary Coffee isn't just a café--it's a community haven. One of my favorite finds in Claremont.

Sanctuary Coffee truly lives up to its name. The space is open, peaceful, and full of seating--perfect for anyone needing to hunker down and get things done. Every time I come here, there is always a comfortable seat available. The latte was good--smooth and lightly roasted, with solid presentation and a warm, mellow flavor.

    Spanish latte
    Karla R.

This place is cute inside but it's very pricey for what you get. I got the Spanish latte with oat milk and it was $8 and some change. It only has ONE shot of espresso which is crazy for $8. It's very milky and sweet due to having only one shot per drink. Every other coffee shop at least has 2-3 espresso shots for their lattes and charge $6-$7.

They have delicious chocolate chip scones here. It's a nice vibe- gets super busy here!
    Monica B.

Nice service and a great atmosphere! The chocolate chip scones are absolutely delicious . It's a cozy spot with a nice vibe -- just be prepared, it can get super busy!

Lots of seating with plenty of charging plugs

Ask the Community - Sanctuary Coffee

Do you guys offer volunteer work?

    Yes we do!

Is there outdoor space that I can enjoy coffee with my dog?

Yes we have seating in the front and back of the shop. We have a number of 4 footed friends who visit us. And our executive Director sometimes has his dog Cappuccino there!

    Do you serve chagaccinos?

We did at one point but they never bought on and the cost was too high to justify keeping it on the menu.

Is there a bulletin board to post and find local events?

    No they don't.

Hi, do they carry oat milk?

    Yes!

    Are you pet-friendly?

    No, they are not.

Is Sanctuary Coffee a safe space for LGBTQ folks and non-Christians? I'm often not certain about Christian focused businesses. Thanks.

Why I keep coming back: Their food is genuinely delicious. They have really good sandwiches and so many great options if you're hungry. Also, a little insider tip: if you're feeling under the weather and want something better than a Starbucks Medicine Ball, order the Remedy Tea. It is so soothing and I highly recommend it! My recent experience: On my last visit, things felt a bit off. The staff seemed really rushed--they actually started making our drinks while we were still in the middle of ordering. Because of the rush, they missed my milk modification and the drink ended up being way too sweet, to the point where I couldn't really drink it. What saddened me most was that the cashier was pretty rude and dismissive toward us. We actually felt so uncomfortable that we didn't even want to ask for a remake, so we just headed out. I truly love the menu here and the vibe when it's "on," but I really hope the service gets back to that friendly, welcoming energy I fell in love with.

It's not awful, but it tastes frugal. I arrived at Almond Haus Cafe (Claremont) on Sunday (around 12:20PM). Parking is easy. The lot is very big. My immediate impression of the location's interior is "abandoned warehouse." There's cardboard boxes lying about; the lights are dim & gloomy; and the furniture & walls looked old and poorly maintained. There were no customers, other than myself. Staff zipped out from the back when I'd entered. There's no self-service kiosks, so customers order at the counter. Staff is friendly and welcoming. After receiving my drink, Staff vanished into the back for the entire time. The drink took one minute and six seconds. Fast!! As mentioned, the Brown Sugar Milk Tea ($5.50) with Boba (additional 79 cents) is not awful. It's big, cheap, and thirst-quenching. Although the boba lacked any perkiness, I did appreciate its very small sweetness. Concerning the ambiance, it felt sad. Chairs had mysterious black stains, dust & webs gripped the windows' corners, yellow & aged plants lazed about, and lights stayed dimly lit like a haunted house. However, there's utility. Almond Haus Cafe (Claremont) has six electrical outlets. There's also customer internet with password; details on the plastic countertop. And there's a restroom for customers. In addition, the floors and tables are fairly clean. Overall, Almond Haus Cafe (Claremont) feels like a forgotten relic of time. At the very minimum, it's an adequate establishment.
