What an amazing venue for yoga!!! Yoga at sunset on the rooftop in downtown Orlando doesn't get more zen than that! The instructors were great and even though it was a large group it looked like everyone could keep up and could hear. My favorite was doing a flipped dog and looking up into the sunset with birds flying over head I was almost scared of them pooping on me and then remembered I had to think positive thoughts! Be sure to bring water and a mat, I also brought a towel because my mat is pretty thin and you're on concrete flooring. You can buy your tickets online at eventbrite or in person there. Cash and cards accepted. I can't wait to go again

    This sky is the limit.

I recently attended an Eventbrite Rooftop Balcony Yoga event here and, I chakra you not, it was THE BEST $11 I have ever spent. The night before we'd had some storms but thank goodness the weather held out because I would use this location for anything. Parties, weddings, work-outs, you name it. The view is spectacular and the breeze can be invigorating. The unique perspective takes you out of your average 24/7/365. If you are there and you don't mind the fact that you will be visible to those in the surroundings condos, honey, do not miss out. The Balcony is located in the same building as the downtown cinema. You may miss it because you don't necessarily expect it unless you are a downtown regular. Looking for something totally new? Find an event that takes place here, take a deep breath and enjoy the Balcony with a view.

    South Eola, Thornton Park

4 Stars for location, location, location!…read more Eola House is a historic 1924 house-turned-rental space owned by the city, right by Lake Eola. It may seem like an odd sight in the middle of the park, but in fact it used to exist in a line of historic homes that were taken down for the park expansion. Now it sits alone, right off of the walking path surrounding the Lake. The home is lovely and features a sunroom, living room, parlor, outdoor terrace, upstairs area with a balcony, bridal changing room, and more. Recently I went for a lunch meeting in their upstairs space, the Summerlin Room ($75/hr rental with a 2 hr min). It was a lovely spot and fit our group of fifteen perfectly. I'll admit that I had been to the house once before to help with another event and the room wasn't set to the specifications agreed upon so we had to move and reset the chairs and tables right before the meeting. I remember the event organizer was quite annoyed... Hopefully it was a fluke! Side note- There is no elevator and the stairs are quite narrow. This is worth mentioning in case your event includes someone with mobility issues or who uses a wheelchair. As I was heading out I stopped in a room by the front and appreciated the array of pamphlets set up- ranging from history of the house to an Orlando biking map. There were also tourist pamphlets with the typical attractions (presumably for out of town guests of weddings of meetings). Overall, this is a beautiful meeting/event space that is priced reasonably and located in the heart of the city.

You really can't get a more picturesque spot than this. On the day we visited the flowers were blooming and swans wandered the grounds. Today the house is owned by the City of Orlando and they rent it for reasonable rates for private events like parties and weddings. A full listing of the prices can be found on their website. In addition the house has a welcome center and park offices. On the day I visited the house was closed and I could only peak through the windows. This looks like a fabulous venue for weddings and outdoor parties on the lawn.

To come, you have to reserve a spot (1-2hours) so this alleviates overcrowding. During summer, the morning time until 10:30am is for 3 year olds and younger only. During the rest of the year, it is open to the other ages. Apparently, this was not communicated clearly so some of my other mom friends with kids older than 3 were turned away upon arrival. It's beautiful inside. The colors, aesthetic, layout. The play area is gated off. Everything is baby proofed. Two story play area with climbing, ball pit, low stimulation touch screen game, mini trampolines, and more. There's a small area specifically for infants. I climbed around the entire structure as well. There's at least one worker supervising and cleaning the play area. The cafe is outside of the play area, but very close where you can supervise your child. There are also 4 cameras so you can see your child even if they're inside of or behind a structure. There are 2 large companion restrooms with diaper pails, stairs for toddlers to reach the sink, & most everything is touch free. I really appreciated how clean everything was. We will definitely be back!
