I love The Bar Method. I have been going for about 4 months now and I feel overall more flexible, healthier and happier. The instructors are incredibly friendly and like to have fun joking with everyone before and after class. Once class starts they get serious. They make sure you are in the correct position and help encourage you to push yourself. The classes are tailored to every level. They offer ways to modify to either ease into the exercises or push yourself into trying a harder position. One of my favorite parts is that they offer challenges clients can participate in. This helps keep me motivated to come especially on the nights where all I feel like doing is sitting on the couch after work. :) I've gotten to know many of the clients and it's nice to see familiar faces in class as well as meet new people. During the hour you are constantly moving but after you work an area they take time to make sure you stretch it out. If you have any injuries they help work around them so you still get the benefit of class. You work every part of your body especially arms, thighs, butt and abs. Every day is a different exercise so I never get bored doing the same thing. If you are looking for something new to try in the new year, I would give The Bar Method a try. I discovered Bar Method while living in Chicago and was a loyal customer for three years before moving to Indiana. I was sad to leave my Bar Method family and the best workout I have done. I was ecstatic to learn last year that Bar Method was opening a location in West Carmel! I was there day one and have been loyal since, as I was so happy to have my favorite work out back in my life. I am not someone that enjoys exercise per say, and I have tried many gyms and exercise programs through the years. Bar Method is the only workout that I have enjoyed and want to keep coming back to. While the class follows the same format each time, the actual exercises that you do rotate day to day so that you are always able to discover a new muscle and reach a new level of soreness (the good kind). Another positive aspect to Bar Method is that the teachers are highly knowledgeable and very thoroughly trained. They are always there to offer you corrections and advice to ensure you are doing all exercises correctly and safely. It adds a personal touch and you really feel as though you are a member of the Bar Method family. I would recommend this work out to anyone no matter what your age of fitness level. I have been a faithful Bar Method client for over 4 years and still love and look forward to each class. The workouts are challenging and always changing so you are always being pushed to work hard. Bar Method's primary focus is on proper alignment/form to ensure the exercises are safe for your body and that you get the most out of the moves. The exercises are designed with a physical therapist and the instructors are knowledgeable about anatomy and physiology. It is truly for any fitness level as the instructors will help you modify the exercises around your injuries and flexibility. The Bar Method workout is unlike any workout I have ever done. I thought it was for dancer girls--I am not. I did my first class earlier this year and am hooked. I noticed changes in my body almost immediately. I had always been a runner but when my knees didn't want me to do that anymore I was stuck. Bar Method is tough but I am able to do almost all of the exercises/stretches with hurting my knees. The staff is very friendly . They help you get into the right position and are encouraging. Bar Method is fantastic. I get an excellent workout without straining my joints, knees, or back. I also cannot say enough good things about the instructors. I have taken a class with many, and I am impressed with all of them. Each one brings something unique and different to the Bar Method class but all are excellent. I've worked out for most of my life in group fitness classes. Zumba was probably the most fun and I loved Pulse fitness but I'm seeing the most results from Bar Class here.
