What a great experience! From the phone call, I made to the end result of a great haircut and beard trim. I was in Bakersfield getting fuel and realized that I wouldn't make it to the barbershop before they closed so I called to verify their hours. Stacy, the owner, answered the phone, and I explained to her that I would be a little bit late. Without hesitation, she said "I'll wait for you." when I got there, I was greeted with a smile and throughout the entire cut had an amazing conversation .. First, no appointments, only walk-ins. Don't know how to think about that. I dig that you can go in anytime, but at the same time, like when you have a set appointment to fit in your daily schedule. Located just outside the city center, in a nice, little shopping center. The Barber Shop has plenty of parking. When inside, it's the typical Barbershop, with multiple chairs. My boyfriend came here to get his haircut and take a break from cutting his hair himself. We walked in and was greeted by Chance. I checked in so my BF could get a free scalp massage. They don't shampoo but moisten the hair in order to cut. Chance did a great job fading and cutting his hair. He also enjoyed the scalp massage. And the last thing he did was put warm shaving cream on the nape of the neck and used a straight razor to cut the hair off the nape of the neck. The haircut cost $20. In Atascadero for a few days and was in need of a haircut and beard trim. After a search and seeing the reviews of this place I decided to give it a shot. Fantastic cut and trim all for only $25. Where I'm from they are charging a minimum of $50 and this was as good as my barber. Wish I was able to go here regularly it is that good of a cut and price. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place. They trimmed my 13 month old son's hair and even though he was fussy and wiggly they were incredibly patient and gave him a great cut. He even cut me off a lock of it so I could save it, and gave us a cute certificate for it being his first haircut. read more

Rude and unfair treatment when my husband and son walked in for his normal haircut. You would think after a year of "lockdown" they would be happy to see them and welcome them with open arms. I have had 2 haircuts here. One just before Covid 19 lockdown and just recently as we are allowed. First one was a great haircut and experience with a very skilled female barber. My hair got very long during the lockdown and could not wait to get it cut when we were allowed to go out again. Had to wear a mask. The barber asked me if I preferred he wear one and i did so he did. He proceeds to give me a very good haircut including a hot shave of back of my neck with a straight razor! I had a great first time experience here and found my new place for a great hair cut. My hair was getting quite unruly and my usual hair stylist was not available. When I walked I liked the decorations with the cool antique furniture. There were three barbers waiting and the I picked the first person that talked to me which was my fortune as he was great. Don't ask me his name as I failed to ask that. I will say that for years I've been getting a "little boy" hair cut. Short all over and just enough on top for a part. Nothing fancy. I explained what I was looking for to the young man and I asked about a fade which I was always entertaining. He said that he was going to do that first and if it didn't work then he could always cut off more. During the cutting he was polite, personable, and good at carrying a conversation. When all was said and done he spun me around to see the end product and voila! Found me a new barber! Not only was I happy with the cut but all wifey could say was "that's what I've been saying for 20 years!" ....no comment other than I'll be going here from now on. I'll make sure to get the good gentleman's name next time I go in so I can give him a kudos. This is the second time I have come to this barber shop. I researched places that do authentic hot shaves in the area and this offers them! I was nervous on my first visit and Milo did a great job. He definitely made an art out of it! It was so good that I decided to come back and his daughter Staci was there to do the hot shave. I got in the chair and had a great experience with a friendly chat and one of the closest shaves I have ever had. It's definitely full service with the conditioner, aftershave, powder, etc. The price is great too! I hope I can somehow repay them with getting you yelp-ers to get a hair cut or hot shave at this location. Let me just say, I hate getting my haircut. It's a deeply personal experience that is so easily ruined by either a bad cut or a bad conversationalist. These guys were great. Great conversation, funny (even if Stacy is a Liverpool fan) and the haircut seemed to be perfect. Wow! They are open. Awesome place to get a haircut. It has a down to earth feel. I'm very picky of which barbershops I go to because of skills and efficiency of the barbers. I looked for an open barbershop during the whole lock down and found this gem in the area. Due to the pandemic I was able to try this place out and received a great haircut.
