The job gets done, but you kind of feel like a second class citizen. I've literally been asked to vacate a chair during a scheduled "couples massage" at one area salon. Hammer & Nails sets the tone, the moment you walk in. Greeted at the door and immediately offered to hang my jacket. Quick to inform they are membership based so there's no confusion. Clean contemporary barbershop/salon area that leads to a lounge with a bar or the "man cave" - a dark, moody room where they offer treatments like the pedicure I had scheduled. There's also a cigar room and a large patio with poker table. TVs come with remote so you can change to whatever you'd like. Headsets available, as well. The pedicure was 4/5. I was a big fan of the paraffin wax. My feet spend a lot of time in work boots, so they appreciate the relaxing massage and warm dip that follows. I don't cut my toenails flat across, prefer rounded. Tia was very personable and friendly, wish she'd have asked how I preferred they be trimmed. But that's my only complaint. The two services membership is very fairly priced and I will sign up for it a few months out of the year. Fellas - check this place out!

The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how cozy and small the shop really was, and how the people cutting hair were friendly and engaging their customers in conversation, it seemed as if these were regulars that were known by name - that's exactly what I'm looking for in the place where I get my hair cut. The cosmetologist cut my hair, and listened to exactly what I wanted. I'm very happy with this haircut, and don't mind spending $12 every 2 weeks to keep it up, and supporting such a wonderful, welcoming establishment. There's a cooler in the corner with drinks for $1, a nice supply of take-home grooming supplies for sale, a TV, and a nice breeze blowing through the shop. Overall, it's how I imagine the place my grandfathers got themselves groomed, but there's also a full service salon so as not to leave the rest of the family out. I'll be back for my next haircut/shave, and hope I can become a regular as Buz's as well. Be prepared with cash, as they do not accept credit or debit.
