First off, the young man behind the counter who helped us was very nice. The store is clean and they have a wonderful variety of delectable in the cases. They also have a points system when you enter your phone number to get a treat when you get a certain amount of points. I ordered a red velvet cake for our holiday party. I usually order the same cake for every occasion and always satisfied. This time not so much, they raised the price to double saying it's now a special order cake, so it was $95 instead of $48. The icing was also different, they used butter cream and didn't taste like cream cheese frosting at all. The cake presentation was nice, but the cake taste awful especially because of the icing. No one wants to eat a chunk of thick icing with a red velvet cake. I asked if the frosting was cream cheese when I ordered it, the person taking my order said yes. So I wasn't happy getting a cake I didn't pay for. It totally ruined my $95 red velvet cake. Next time I'll stick to Nothing Bundt cake for a red velvet cake. The explanation for the new $95 cake was because it's not a popular cake so that's the reason for the up charge. I got a few cupcakes here as I was randomly driving by and was pleasantly surprised. I loved the lemon cupcake the most but all the others were really good too. We had a chocolate, a strawberry champagne, a regular strawberry and one each of vanilla and chocolate cake with cookie dough topping as the icing. I just want to give a shout out to this fabulous bakery! I was given the task of ordering my step dads birthday cake on Friday for his party on Saturday! Yep! 1 day notice! Who does that?!? The pre made item, inside of the plastic bag, was thrown in the microwave for a couple of minutes and then given to me....Honestly, it was awful and you could taste the plastic...They gave this with chips and 2 side condiments!!! I yelped around bakeries and found this gem!!! They have a wide variety of baked goods. It took me a whole 15 mins to decide because everything looked so delicious. I ordered 2 slices of cake (I cant remember what they were called but it was so good), lemon bars and macaroons. FYI, their cake slices are huge!!! It took me 2 days to finish a slice. The cakes Ive tried were very moist and werent too sweet. It has just the right amount of sweetness for my taste. The lemon bars did not disappoint! Its probably my favorite. For the macaroons, they were good but too pricey for the size. $2.25 for a small piece :( Oh, cant forget their Thai Boba. The BF loves Thai Boba. He said it was the best Milk tea he's ever had. I get an email from Samantha about 10 mins later. I give her my number and ask for her to call me so we can speak directly otherwise I had no interest in giving their bakery my business. An email back stating she would call and 24 hours later I still never got that call. So I gave up and gave my business to Sweet Doh Bakery where Evelyn the owner took my order for the cake smash AND will be creating my desserts for my daughters 1st bday in April. Samantha is kind and has helped me in the past. I even gave her a 5 star Yelp review after my first visit last year but sadly a year later the customer service in this business is as awful as it can get. It is unfortunate when a well planned event goes wrong, at no doing of your own. Which is what occurred on Sat. 11/9/19. The order placed by our family was detailed and self explanatory and there was emphasis on the events theme, which was Woodstock. Yet, upon pick up, the cake and cupcakes were no where close to the expectation. Mind you, this is the morning of the event and there is little to no room for mishaps. However, she misinformed me about the company's policies. They want the entire price of the cake including the delivery charge paid up-front 2 weeks prior to the event. And they don't offer any wiggle room whatsoever. I spoke to Jessica today and it was like speaking to a lawyer about buying a home. "You must come in, in person, so I can go over the contract with you, in person. You must pay in full and agree to everything on the contract. When the cake arrives, you must review it and make sure it is what you wanted and sign a contract that you are satisfied with what was delivered." All of this over the phone and she still wants me to come in so she can go over the contract with her AGAIN. I wonder how much more must be in this contract. None of this was ever explained to me by Melissa and it's very inconvenient. Like many other small businesses, this one will not last because they have zero concept of what customer service is. This company should explain all of their policies before they take someone's money. When I tried to explain this to Jessica, she said I should go to Costco or Walmart to buy a cake. The owners should be aware that they have a very unprofessional person working for them and she should be replaced with a competent employee. read more
