Was pleasantly impressed by such a great restaurant and attentive staff. Really run like a high end fancier place. Although small in size they really give the impression of high end eatery you might find in LA or SD. We enjoyed cocktails that were crafted nicely. I've came to Old Town Temecula a ton of times and always said I would eat at Bottega Italia. Finally a few weeks ago, I had a late lunch here with family. The staff were super friendly and sat us at a table inside. Our server went through their specials of the day and one of them was a salmon pasta that my dad ended up ordering. My sister and I shared a aglio e olio pizza and a Caesar salad. The salad was the perfect portion for us to share. The pizza was delicious! Service was super slow, server Mark was horrible. Not 1 time he asked how that food was. I had to get my lime wedges from the bar because he took forever and must've forgotten. Super busy Friday night! Just popped in with my family who's in front out of town. We just grabbed some coffee and desserts. This was a "walk up to the barista" night. We did not dine in. The barista was super nice especially with a line behind us! Also, I noticed the barista washing her hands in between making drinks or when she just needed to during her process. My husband and I have been wanting to try this place but they're always packed and closed on Mondays. We finally got a chance to make a reservation on a rainy Thursday night. We were greeted by a nice young lady who sat us right away. The place was small and cozy, seemed over-staffed for a seemingly slow night. We ordered the chicken wings (nothing special), Arancini al Nero (rice balls stuffed with calamari in squid ink sauce) pretty good but better served warm; for entrees my husband got the Carbonara with pancetta (good, peppery and not too saucy) and I got the "meat of the day" for a market price of $43. Filet medallions (2 thin steaks) with sides of vegetables-potatoes, cauliflower, etc. the menu should've said "mixed vegetables with a side of filet. I have tried better tasting filets for a lesser price. Worse thing of all, it wasn't warm and when the server checked up on us I mentioned that it's not warm. She offered to warm it up. I ordered it medium rare so if she did, it will be medium??? Had she brought it up to her manager, I'm sure they would've done a better alternative. Chardonnay was alright, local from La Paz and you can't go wrong with Peroni. They offer $1 off drinks and appetizers during happy hour. Overall, I think this place is so-so. My wife wanted to try something different for Valentine's Day, and Bottega Italia did not disappoint. Food was delicious, Beef Wellington and Lobster, Linguini Ai Fritti di Mare ( I call it Cioppino) , Calamari, and their Butcher Pizza (cooked in old school pizza oven) were excellent! Service was great, thank you Mark for making my family's lunch special. Clean and well organized place, indoor and outdoor dining option. More relax and friendlier environment than Gourmet Italia. Drinks were good as well, we had the Mimosa Flight, Bloody Mary, and Espresso Martini. Their Gelato was a plus, a must have after lunch or dinner. Our hostess and server were both very warm and welcoming. We started strong with calamari and Catarratto white wine. Delicious! The Bolognese was really flavorful, I told my husband it's almost as good as his home made one, but my friends, the star of the day has to be the halibut and risotto. Wow. Best risotto I've had. Their signature Margarita STG Pizza is one of the best pizzas I've tasted west of Rome, Italy...Caesar would have loved it!! The calamari, aka "Frittura Di Paranza" was straight up DELICIOUS! It's a mixture of calamari, shrimp and a little Italian fish....fried, with a fresh lemon (to squeeze ) and tangy marinara sauce...Yum-Me!! (I made that word up ;) Ok, now the service.....uh, how should I word this...Most EXCELLENT! While all the employees were welcoming, friendly and very nice, one stands out, "Manuel" I spoke briefly with Manuel when we're first arrived and detected a Sicilian accent.... He was gracious enough to do a short video, in Sicilian, to send to our cousins in Catania, Italy....What a cool dude he is for doing this, it will make their day! Came in with high expectations but left feeling underwhelmed. We arrived on a Saturday night with a party of six around 7:40 PM, without a reservation. When we called earlier that day around 6 PM, we were told walk-ins would be fine. However, once we arrived, we were quoted a 30-minute wait--but didn't get seated until after 9 PM. Once we did get seated service was slow. we had to ask multiple times just to get water, and the server changed half was thru the dinner without telling us. As for the food: The calamari was forgettable. The Calzoni di Bufala was just okay--the bread was soggy in places and burnt in others, though the salami it came with was quite good. The tagliatelle bolognese had promise. The noodles were cooked well, and the portion was generous, but the overall flavor felt like it was missing something. Went Valentine's Day for lunch. Yes it was packed. Our server was extremely busy with all the tables however, I do feel the inside tables were neglected more than outside. Especially the ones sitting towards the kitchen. Barely saw her inside. We got the Diavola pizza. The salami saved the pizza. The sauce was good, cheese was good, salami was great. However, the pizza dough lacked! They need to crisp up that dough. It was soggy and too soft. Almost felt like a pita bread. The Burrata with tomato confit was good. Although the bread that was "toasted" was still soft. Would've been better if they really toasted the bread. I don't know what they have against toasting up their doughs. What saved my lunch date was the pasta Rollatine Alla Mirella. Great flavor all around. The eggplant was cooked perfectly not mushy at all. I would recommend this dish to try. The inside is small, they need better chairs. Those plastic seats are so uncomfortable. They are charging decent prices for them to have some cheap plastic seats. read more

I first tried this restaurant five years ago when they opened it was delicious then and it is still delicious now! The service was prompt and helpful. Each of the dishes had an authentic Italian flavor. The staff was especially helpful in making sure that I had lactose free cheese on the appetizer tray. We all loved our food, drinks, and dessert. Stopped by with some friends and family. Small group. Gave our name and it took 20 minutes to get seated. There was no one there. It was not packed @ all like other times that we had been. We have been to Bottega several times since it open, along with their other sister restaurant in town. The receptionist was very nice and kept telling us that they were getting the table cleaned up but honestly what was there to clean if there was no there sitting to begin with? We finally got to sit, ordered our drinks. One drink got sent back but it looked and tasted like OJ. Our food arrived all spread out. Not as tasty as it use to be. I ordered the Cesar Salad, super salty and not the presentation needed help. The pizza was good, the calamari was good too. But overall we could tell that the quality has gone down. It so sad to see this before our very eyes because we know exactly how delicious and awesome the food use to be. And it was one of our favorite places to go for a delicious pizza and an amazing drink. The upside is the two waitresses were very nice and attentive. They did get our order right, so no issue there.
