The food and service here were amazing! We got the Nepoletana pizza (added cheese) and the Linguine. Both were delicious, coming from someone who doesn't really like seafood. Especially being able to dip the pizza crust in the pasta sauce was 10/10. I also got the spicy watermelon margarita which was really good! It's all street parking but we were able to find some right away and pretty much right outside the restaurant. Extremely disappointing experience. We were told the wait would be 10-15 minutes, so we decided to stay. Instead, we waited over an hour and still couldn't get a clear answer on when we'd actually be seated. The biggest issue wasn't even the wait--it was the complete lack of communication. SEATING SERVICE IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER ENDURED. POOR COMMUNICATION and total disregard for customer experience. My family of 6 and I walked up with no reservations and requested seating inside. The hostess said it would be a 10-15 min wait, so we wait right at the front so we don't miss our name being called. 30 mins out I check in and she says she's waiting on tables to clear so probably another 10-15 minutes more. Shortly after, other large parties with reservations get seated and we keep waiting. At the hour mark, I check in again and she tells me that unfortunately, the large tables they have were JUST TAKEN by reservations so they're waiting for them to clear before we can be seated. (?!?!?!?) I clarified if those are the only tables they designate for large parties and she confirms YES. Had I not confirmed the second time, my four kids would have waited another hour to have their dinner! I let her know that there needs to be better communication about seating and she said there's plenty of other restaurants around, and I said YES, I'm aware, and I would have gone there had I been informed of their seating limitations appropriately! UGH! The absolute worst communication from a hostess!!! Never felt strung along by a restaurant before. EW!! If you're a large walk-in party seeking relief from the July heat at dinner, BEWARE, this is not the restaurant for you! You'll end up waiting forever and getting bumped by reservations because they're not equipped to serve your party and somehow do they don't care to let you know you're up for a long wait time. Note to the establishment owner: TRANSPARENCY on wait times is very important for families and most, if not all, customers appreciate the heads up about your capacity. We made a quick trip to Temecula and after winetasting had dinner in Old Town. Started with Beery Italian cocktail and it was excellent. I highly recommend if you enjoy drinks that are slightly more on the sweet side. Had the Regina pizza with prosciutto, mozzarella, arugula, and cherry tomatoes. The cherry tomatoes were especially delicious. We sat outside next to the bar window where we enjoyed watching the bartender making fresh strawberry syrup from scratch. I asked him what he was making, and he was incredibly friendly taking the time to explain the process and how they use syrup in their cocktails. He definitely deserves a five star shout out for his friendliness and willingness to share. For the most part, the food, service, and ambience were fine. Last night, three of us tasted the spaghetti and meatballs special, and unfortunately, we all had the same reaction to the meatballs. They were very tough, not very flavorful, and honestly some of the least enjoyable meatballs I've had. I'm not sure what blend of meat is being used, and I understand that some restaurants add pork or sausage, but these did not have the texture or flavor you would expect from a good Italian meatball. I then noticed the same flavor coming from the Bolognese meat sauce. The small bits of meat have the same flavor not so noticeable because being small bits. My husband and I have been wanting to try this place but they're always packed and closed on Mondays. We finally got a chance to make a reservation on a rainy Thursday night. We were greeted by a nice young lady who sat us right away. The place was small and cozy, seemed over-staffed for a seemingly slow night. Filet medallions (2 thin steaks) with sides of vegetables-potatoes, cauliflower, etc. the menu should've said "mixed vegetables with a side of filet. I have tried better tasting filets for a lesser price. Worse thing of all, it wasn't warm and when the server checked up on us I mentioned that it's not warm. She offered to warm it up. I ordered it medium rare so if she did, it will be medium??? Had she brought it up to her manager, I'm sure they would've done a better alternative. Chardonnay was alright, local from La Paz and you can't go wrong with Peroni. They offer $1 off drinks and appetizers during happy hour. Overall, I think this place is so-so. When we called earlier that day around 6 PM, we were told walk-ins would be fine. However, once we arrived, we were quoted a 30-minute wait--but didn't get seated until after 9 PM. Once we did get seated service was slow. we had to ask multiple times just to get water, and the server changed half was thru the dinner without telling us. As for the food: The calamari was forgettable. The Calzoni di Bufala was just okay--the bread was soggy in places and burnt in others, though the salami it came with was quite good. The tagliatelle bolognese had promise. The noodles were cooked well, and the portion was generous, but the overall flavor felt like it was missing something.
