I had initially stopped by because I was looking for an oil burner, but what I found was so much more and left with an armful. There were pillows and African fabrics, Japanese china and Moroccan lamps, candles and jewellery, handwoven baskets and hand painted frames. The textures and smells hypnotized. I could see a spot for each found gem in my place at home. I need this right? I kept telling myself. The staff is friendly and the prices are affordable. Don't forget to head upstairs for larger pieces such as dressers and stools. They take cards and cash so don't worry and prepare to spend some time.

Their descriptions online were completely accurate - they pointed out a stain in the arm of the sofa which was not even that noticeable when it arrived - and their prices were totally fair. They delivered, on a Saturday too, and bang on time - even giving me a call 24 hours before to discuss the time. All in all, from order to delivery, we were sat on our new sofa with 3 days and all my fears subsided! It was clean, comfy and the TV unit was actually a really strong and well made thing - no plywood or dodgy loose connections! So, seriously recommend this place and I am so happy I have found somewhere I can buy from again and don't have to trawl through the awfulness of Gumtree again!

The website is awesome in so much as they have some beautiful original fabrics - stuff that could convince even those with the greatest sewing phobias to get inspired to learn. Rather than ordering online I decided to got to the Chatswood store and check out the material in the fabric flesh. It's a pokey little shop upstairs at the back of a raggedy mall. I guess because the online shop is so clean and fresh that I expected to enter a palace of imperial fabrics. Not the case. The fabrics are gorgeous but the actual store looks like any other material/sewing shop. The young shop assistant gave it a bit of that 'fashionable' edge I'd been absentmindedly seeking. Hilarious given I was looking for cheap block out fabric. I found it too in the bargain bucket. $10/metre which is pretty good. A lot of the beautiful fabrics I say were more like $50 and up. I imagine this is a hub for young designers to find pretty fabrics without having to go far. I'm feeling the urge to create... and shop ;)

And it's not far from the station. There is fabric on two floors of this small shop. The quality of their fabric range is top rate. If you sew alot, this is the place for lovely and reputable fabrics and notions. Their staff are helpful and know their stuff. The staff love sewing as much as their customers:)

As my most recent visit was the Saturday night before Halloween, I clearly wasn't the only person searching for last minute props or inspiration, but there were an equal amount of shoppers who probably had no idea about some misappropriated Pagan festival. Usually by the time I hit the buttons sectionat the back of this huge store I am fantasising about all the fabulous clothes I could make, and my imagination went into overdrive on Halloween but unfortunately I didn't have time to bring any of my ideas to fruition. This is a particularly good Spotty too, it's large, has a great selection and the staff are super friendly- I always leave with thousands of potential projects running through my mind. Tip: try not to pay full price for the fabric- they have really decent sales pretty regularly!
