The pub is not too bad. There are different sections ranging from very old, smokers gambling den and a brasserie. The place is clean and well kept. The food is not bad, I have tried the fish and chips...not bad!

The pub is on the corner surrounded by streets that have only 1hr or 2hr limits. The parking area is also very tiny. However, it is very close to the train station. We drove from Sydney and resigned ourselves to moving the car a couple of times during our get together. Although it was raining it was manageable. Initially, we gathered in the bar which is decorated with all sorts of sporting memorabilia; mainly rugby league and boxing. There were 11 of us for lunch so we did have to book a table just to be on the safe side. However, it wasn't that crowded in the dining room despite the beer garden (with view) not being that popular in the rain. The food was pretty good and so were the prices. Also, if you are a senior you can ask for a discount. I went for the Seafood Trio for around $10 and was pleasantly surprised not to have everything smothered in a thick layer of batter. Others went for the steak, which was not a special, but got nods of approval. The desserts were cakes in a display cabinet. There was no hurry to move us on after we had finished which suited us as some of us were waiting on the train and didn't want to stand at the station in the rain. I could go to four stars on a second trip if I could have seen the view from the beer garden, but to get three stars on a miserable day is pretty good.

The food is better than the usual pub food quality but only by a little bit. This place is heavy on showcasing its sports coverage, primarily rugby or afl, so if you're down for that you'd fit right in here with the other bogans and husbands escaping their wives crowd that frequent this pub. I've been here a couple times for gatherings of large sizes as well as small trio lunch date, so they can cater for all occasions. It's quite clean inside and the pricing is a little above pub average for the food but the drinks are standard. I wouldn't choose this place a purpose for a night out or anything but for a quick drop in it fits the bill.

My son was already feeling overwhelmed because it was fathers day and it was full. And he has an anxiety condition. My husband came back after ordering and the same staff member came back and asked him to take his hoody off again My husband said no. I explained that he has an anxiety condition. The staff member said why didn't I say that. He addressed my son not me! My husband heard him say "Jesus Christ" loudly as he went past. This was when my husband decided that was enough. We asked for a refund and left. Proper staff training sensible policies need to be implemented! The policy should be that you cannot order at the bar with your hoody on, and children should be exempt from the policy. I believe the purpose of the policy is for security reasons. There was no dress code on the website or at the entry going in. These things need to be rectified. Very disappointed, and we will not be back!

We were there 3 nights! The suite had: * 2 bedrooms (1 room with 1 queen bed, 1 room with 2 single beds) * pull out coach in the living room * kitchenette w/ stove & microwave * 1 full bathroom with shower & tub, * 1 full bathroom with shower * washing machine * mini dryer * TV * balcony The room was very cozy. They provided standard amenities (travel toiletries, towels, tissue, dishes, soap, etc.) They don't do housekeeping until check out tho, that was a bummer. Majority of the staff were friendly at the front desk. Parking is free for guests, but space is limited! It's walking distance from the lagoon (perfect for my toddler niece & nephews), and the pool was nice! Next time, I may want a room with the pool & ocean view. It's also a couple blocks away from a mini shopping area in case you want to buy some groceries, got to a cafe/bar, etc. The nightly rate was quite expensive though, but we did go during summer (after Christmas), but it was work it. I'd suggest to book way in advance to secure your preferred room, and hopefully get a lower rate. I'd DEFINITELY come back =)

We opted for a balcony room facing the "mountain" which also overlooks the carpark and village. There are no flyscreens but equally there were surprisingly no flies so we did enjoy wide open door to the balcony. The balcony is pretty big too. The Mantra is on top of the Ettalong Diggers but this was not a noise problem if you shut the balcony doors, The bathroom does not have an exhaust fan so you need to have the door open to have a shower. The shower can be fiddled with so that it will work properly. We had a spa but didn't use it. Kitchenette and laundry (plus powder) are also part of the room. Parking is undercover and shared with the Digger's club but there was no problems getting a park. You can get towels from reception for the pool and beach but don't lose them as it will cost $20.

Entertainment for kids (big & little) consist of organised craft & discos to swimming in the pools. We were able to spend a whole afternoon beside and in the pool. The pool slide looks as if it is a gentle enough experience but some were able to shoot out the end like a bullet. It is very deep at the slide end so little ones need to be caught in the water if they can't swim. It is also a short walk to the surf and a skate park.

This one had a spa bath tub. The beach house was immaculate and lovely furnished. This place had everything you needed to make a comfortable stay, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, bedding, detergent (although limited amount for clothing) and even a washer and dryer for clothing! I loved how the front doors were all accordion style window doors. It made it perfect to open the doors in the morning and in the evening. It does get a little cool at evening so we shut them after about 9 pm. The beds were very comfortable and each room had a fan/heater for when you needed it. The place looked pretty new. Our family had a barn dance at the barn and the staff were kind enough to let us in early to setup, as no one else was renting it. It's very close to town as well: there is a Woolworth's in town and some other good stores and restaurants. There is planty to do for families. The pool was nice and clean, though it got packed at certain times of the day. The bouncing pads were one of the kids favorites, as were the parks, go-karts, and electric bikes. It was a great stay and I would definitely stay again.

And I was ironically made aware by a previous reviewer on Yelp that it can be noisy on a Saturday night but didn't know it would be this insane. Even for a sleep deprived heavy sleeper who quickly went to sleep on around 9pm around when the party started. It's just impossible to stay asleep during such loud beating music with a crowd constantly group chanting the lyrics loudly and going "wooh". If you're a party animal who goes to sleep late on a weekend, maybe this is a big plus for you. But for me who just needed a place away from home, to sleep on Saturday night. I do regret coming here as it's literally like trying to sleep in the middle of a loud concert blasting into your room. Why am Iam even paying for this? To be fair, the staff was quite polite and straightforward and the room does have air conditioning and also some of the softest (probably bamboo fabric) blankets. It's a relatively good quality comfortable room if you forget about the noise on the weekend. And I only stayed here for Saturday night so maybe it's not always like this during the weekdays, but I wouldn't know. If you want to sleep well and it's also Saturday night. Only come here if you're actually willing to tolerate a booming noisy atmosphere from 8pm to 2am. Which they also really ought to warn you about.
