LOVE getting my nails done here! Best place in town by far for nails. Pedicures are amazing but I mostly go for the Gel X or gel manicure.

Ive been here multiple times before and had great experiences. The price is definitely higher than most places in Morgantown but for what I've gotten it's usually been beyond worth it. This previous time was a completely different story. I payed close to 400 for this hairstyle which I'm pretty sure I was overcharged and taken advantage of. She did go back and fix it but the fact that I walked out with my hair in the shape it was is ridiculous. The final product is also unacceptable. It was rushed and I have splotches of color all through my hair of different tones where the colors she used bled because it wasn't done properly. She did not even take the time to tone it the first time so it was a super brassy yellow and not blended at all when I stressed I wanted a natural look. When I went back I was told this was basically my fault because I asked for a "money piece" but explained it as brightening up some of my natural highlights around my face. I have also never written a review but this is well deserved. I have blurred my face in the pictures below because I was actually sobbing. I also included the picture I showed her for reference and although I know hair almost never looks like the picture for many reasons and I'm okay with that but the result of my hair is beyond unacceptable. read more

EYELASH EXTENSION REVIEW *The Beauty Bar does eyelash extensions and if you have been considering getting them done I hope this review will convince you! They are not just for special occasions and they make getting ready so much easier! I got my lashes done by the lovely Ashley and I completely recommend her. She is a very lovely person and does amazing work. It usually takes an hour or a little longer but Ashley finished in under an hour when doing my lashes. She is very intelligent and knowledgeable regarding lashes and was very informative with everything she would be putting on my eyes. *There is a 10% student discount so if you're a student be sure to bring your ID. (AFTER THE DISCOUNT) it was around $150 (not including tip) for a full set. I know this is very expensive but this is actually a great price considering the quality work she does plus the fills are cheaper. You get refills every week or two for around $50-75. *They have reference cards where if you refer a friend for lashes they'll get a free fill as will you! Yay! You just have to ask about it *There is a Keruig and fridge full of waters and soda in case you're thirsty *The salon sells boutique clothes, shoes, and jewelry *I have not had any other salon services done here so I can not vouch for their other services BUT again I would completely insist you go here for your eyelash extensions. read more

Went to get a lash lift done by Christina a few weeks ago, and everything was great, i was really happy with my experience and lashes but i noticed on one eye my lashes were falling sideways and they looked crimped or kinked. i messaged her about it a few days later and she offered to fix them no charge, so i got them fixed about a week later. Everything was fine, but now my lashes on the "fixed" eye are starting to fall out!! i mean like, legit bald spots are on some areas of my eye. you can totally see the difference in the amount of lashes and thickness on my eye in the pic. very upset.. i wouldn't have gotten it if i knew this was going to happen! read more

I came to the Beauty Bar to have acrylics removed that I had done at another salon. I found out that the other salon had used an illegal acrylic on my nail and it could be damaging to my nail to remove it. However, Sarah was able to remove most of the product and save the integrity of my natural nails. This salon is a class act! My sister-in-law had selected this salon in Morgantown for her bridal hair. This was my first time at this salon. Parking was easy and plentiful. The salon was gorgeous and had a stylish and welcoming interior. The staff were incredibly warm and friendly and were extremely attentive to both the bride and the bridal party. The bride had a private room where makeup was applied and hair was done without any distractions. Everyone was professional, organized, and confident. My personal stylist was Haley and she was AMAZZZING! I have fine hair which is challenging to work with. She not only gave my hair body, but also worked with my hair extensions to give me the perfect look. My hair stayed gorgeous all night and I received so many compliments. The bride worked with Sarah and was also very pleased with her hair and felt absolutely stunning during her special day. In all honesty, I have had my hair done at some of the best salons around the country and I have to say that Morgantown Beauty Bar is nothing short of a fantastic salon. Tonya and Morgan do a wonderful job maintaining continuing education and a positive/uplifting work environment and energy for the girls at the salon and it shows in their work! Well this is the last time I'll trust just anyone to color my hair without looking at their work. I asked for a blonde balayage.... I got grey instead. I would suggest looking up the hairstylist's previous work before allowing them to work on you. Spent a ton of money just for a bad hair color. Hopefully this will help others. read more

I brought myself and 6 other people from my bridal party to the beauty bar for hair and some makeup Labor Day weekend.. they did a decent job with the application of the makeup.. however we weren't informed to bring our own eye makeup bc we couldn't use theirs.. 6-7 of the girls hair were nothing like described or the example we showed them.. several of the girls hair fell down long before the ceremony. We felt as though our hair were rushed even though we came an hour before they suggested.. when complaints were made The owner stated "we did the best we could on a holiday weekend". a guest who had a hair appointment while we were there ended up looked better than anyone in the actual bridal party! The facility was nice and the peach drinks were tasty but none of us will be returning or referring either. read more

The salon itself is nice and the staff are kind and attentive. However, I was very unhappy with my hair especially since I brought in a photo. I will commend them on getting the blue coloring I had in my hair out, but the new color isn't really what I envisioned. It was applied poorly and in a way that just didn't look good or make sense. There was also a complete lack of communication from start to finish. I can't remember this stylist's name. I can't speak to their other services, so this is strictly about the hair salon aspect. UPDATE: I'm altering my review because I clearly just had one bad stylist. Upon contacting them about how unhappy I was with my hair, they did everything they could to make it right. I went back in with a different stylist (Tia) and was incredibly pleased with her work. They didn't charge me for the nearly 4 hours I was I there working to get something I was happy with, and the stylist was very encouraging and cooperative; she even gave me detailed tips on upkeep and how to improve the health of my hair. read more

I went to The Beauty Bar for the first time today and it was great. I had my hair cut done by the owner Morgan, who was super friendly and professional. The salon itself is clean, welcoming and has a good atmosphere to be in. My hair cut was great and Morgan asked me multiple times if there was anything I didn't like or wanted to change, so it shows that she really cares about her clients being happy with their hair. Overall just bad customer service. I went to the beauty bar for the first time because I've gone to the same salon and stylist my whole life back at home in Maryland but now a full time student and resident I decided to try and find a new place. They screwed up my color and when I confronted the owner she was condescending and rude. I was blamed for my hair being messed up and they really offered no help until I begged for it because I'm a broke college student who spent almost $200 on a bad hair dyeing experience. I made an appointment because my stylist recently moved to Ohio and a few of my friends had mentioned that they went there. My stylist was Christina. To sum it up, the experience was terrible. My bangs are absolutely atrocious (and it's my birthday in a few days! I'm mortified). I asked for a side bang (even offered to show a picture) and Christina decline because she supposedly knew what I wanted. Well, she cut my bangs so short and choppy that I look a total dork. As for the rest of my cut, she didn't blend any of my layers either. Honestly, she was more interested in chatting with the client next to us about these "weed drinks". She barely spoke to me. She got offended when I said I didn't like the cut, especially the bangs. I was scarred to let her keep trying to fix it because I practically had no bangs left (and I didn't feel like she knew what she was even doing at that point either). She also immediately started trash talking me to the other clients and stylists while I was standing at the cash. She stopped after she realized I could hear everything she was saying but I was so humiliated. Needless to say, I left the salon practically in tears. The whole thing was very unprofessional. I will never go back. Now I need someone else who can fix this horrendous mess :'( On another note, the salon itself was really dirty and dusty. The seat wasn't even cleaned before I was told to sit down. There was a lot of dust and hair everywhere. I wasn't impressed. The bathroom was also really dirty. If you are looking for SNS/dip nails don't waste your time. There are no color swatches so you are guessing what the color will look like based on the color of the powder--which if you've had this service you know is very difficult as the color turns out darker than the powder. Both times I went the color was too thin and my nails chipped within 2 weeks. After the first visit, I was given a discount because my nails broke so terribly the first time. I chose not to go back though because I have never had this issue at other salons. HOWEVER I give 4 stars because the salon is very clean, the staff members are friendly, and I received an awesome pedicure on both visits. I have also heard from several friends that Morgan and Haley are awesome with hair! I would recommend for other services, just not SNS. read more

Long story short don't go here. Went in for basic hair/makeup trial, took 4 hours, was nowhere close to anything I asked for. Went home looking like a clown with burnt hair. As I was leaving they informed me that I needed to leave a deposit for my future bridal appointments. I did reluctantly because I wanted to get out of there. Decided to cancel and they wouldn't give my deposit back saying it was non refundable. Manager lied to the owner saying I was informed of the non refundable deposit when I was not informed in any way. I have gotten keratin treatments done for years in Chicago and been very happy. It has never straightened my hair, but it makes my hair soft, smooth, and low maintenance. The treatments normally last a good 3 months. I paid about 375 for a keratin treatment in April. I don't know if was the product or the method of keratin, but it barely did anything. It more resembled using a new/nice conditioner than a keratin treatment, and it was completely gone by one month (even using the proper products). Overall, the service itself was not only bad but very expensive, and they dismissed my complaint. They promised to call me back about my complaint and did not. read more

Ever since I was younger I have had the worst hair cuts. I also have a vitamin deficiency that causes discoloration in my neck, which always made me reluctant to get my hair cut. I decided to come to The Beauty Bar because my roommate has gone here before and loved it. I also tried calling other places in Morgantown because they were closer to my apartment. After calling a couple of places I realized that their establishments weren't as professional as I would have hoped. I then decided I was going to give the beauty bar. Their appointment process was super easy. They allow you to book online which is very nice. I booked my appointment with Christina (I'm so sorry if that was misspelled) and she was super understanding about my deficiency and talked to me through the whole process of the haircut. After it was cut she even taught me how to style it to compliment the new cut. I would 100% come back again. This has been my best haircut and best haircut experience! read more

I made an appointment to get my nails done a week in advance since my schedule is crazy between work and nursing school. I was 15 min early for my appointment only to be told by Myriah that the girl before me needed more work than expected based on what she had scheduled for. Instead of having that customer come back for an appointment of appropriate length, I had to leave since a different time wouldn't work for me (I wanted my nails done for vacation and am leaving tomorrow). Went here for a balayage. The first disappointment was when my scheduled hairstylist was double booked and I was left with someone else who called me in an hour late. The second disappointment was when I declined all the extra charges (outside of the $130 I paid for the balayage) and the customer service completely changed. No more small talk, no more smiles; just a "d*mn the poor" attitude. The third and most drastic disappointment was when I was turned into a raccoon. I had asked for thicker caramel highlights in the front to frame my face; instead, she bleached them to the blondest of blonds. Only when she saw me stare at myself with a horrified face did she start being nice to me, in hopes of a tip (hey, that's fine, get your money - just don't pretend like you didn't mess up!). This place is a joke, they are extremely over priced for the area and stylists fresh out of beauty school. They have no idea what they are doing. I have gotten my hair done here a few times my hair looked okay ish and cost almost as much as my rent... not kidding and then to received horrible snotty customer service from the stylists to the girl working the desk they treat you like your stupid for questioning why they over charge for stupid things. I have also tried many times to get my lashes done here for them to fall out 1-2 weeks later, they don't know how to do lashes properly and need more training. Swear this girl straight up glued lashes to my eyelids not attaching them to my natural lashes. The lashes they use suck and are cheep, so why do they charge $75+ for a fill? This place use to be great with the old management and when it was less expensive. They all could use more training and some lessons in customer service. I can and will be going to other salons get better service for a fraction of the price from better and more experienced people. Now lets talk about their "boutique" thats a whole other joke, lol I know the exact place they are ordering inventory from they mark it up to 3x+ what it costs them and once again ripping people off.
