The Bedouins is a popular North African restaurant on the North side! I've heard many good things about here and finally tried it this weekend. A new cafe tripolitania cafe recently opened inside the Bedouins restaurant too. Service was attentive and welcoming. They also provided complimentary soups and pita with hummus & mashweeya dip. The food portions here are HUGE and delicious. I had enough to eat a full lunch meal the next day. Definitely check it out if you're interested in trying some Libyan and Middle Eastern cuisine. Mix Shawarma Platter $22.99- It's a mix of chicken and beef shawarma that comes with rice, fries, salad and garlic sauce. Super flavourful and loved the spices Lamb Haneeth $27.99- This is slowly roasted lamb in a mix of herbs with potatoes and carrots. A large portion of rice came with it also. Lamb was very tender and soft Turkish Coffee $3.99- This was ordered from the cafe. You can order cafe items while still eating in the main restaurant. This coffee was very strong and bitter. It was cool to order but requires acquired taste. I wanted to order some dessert from the cafe but food was super filling. I can see why this place is rated 4.8 on google with 1.1k+ reviews!

Hands down to one of the Best Restaurant in #Edmonton THE BEDOUINS This is a great, friendly authentic place, which is really flourishing located in the North side. They are known for their friendly service called "The Bedouin Experience". We started with complimentary appetizers (yes free!) Pita Bread with Hummus & Mashweeya Dip (eggplant is well roasted, authentic, textured is so smooth) and their soup is tasty and comforting. For our mains we had The Bedouins Steak, the steak is cooked perfectly and falling-off-the-bone tender and Chicken Tajeen is flavourful, juicy and delicious! We were genuinely impressed and each bite after was a fresh burst of flavour. To end our dining experience, we sipped on Moroccan tea which the waitress served to us the traditional Moroccan way by pouring the tea from a height. We will be back, this place is amazing! Thank you Emad and Kisanet you guys are amazing!

So happy I finally had the opportunity to come here! Everything was wonderful, tasty and great value! I will definitely be back!

    Platter number 2

We had platter #2 Service - excellent severs are always checking in to so how the meal going. When was the last time you had more than one server at your table. Ambiance - pretty casual lots of room for groups Very family friendly Food. - Good. Platter combos will easily feed 4. Soup and bun are complimentary at the start. The beef and chicken kabobs not dry. Cooked perfectly. In fact all the BBQ items were good. Not sure why fries are there but they're good too. They are coated. I really had no outstanding issues with the food. But the table could barely hold all the dishes. They give cutlery but you sort of get the feeling it is a finger food meal.

I finally went to try this much raves about restaurant but was I ever disappointed! This restaurant is in the north side of Edmonton and when you go in it is absolutely beautiful. The decor and ambiance is very nice. We ordered the potato and beef appetizer to start off with. They had brought us complimentary bread with hummus and this other vegetable dip. It was OKAY-it seemed like it was lacking flavour. Then we went on to order the chicken tagine and chicken thighs. Both looked appealing but completely had no flavour and lacked salt or just seemed so bland. There was no real flavour in anything ..and I was so disappointed for my experience here. The upside is you get a lot of food but if you don't enjoy the food what's the point. I had asked for thr fet touch salad instead of the salad you get with it again it was just so bland. It wasn't just me my family felt the same way. We had to force feed ourselves to finish the meal unfortunately. I wish I could have had another halal restaurant to enjoy in edmonton but this place won't be it.

One of the most delicious spots on the northside is a small spot hidden in an unassuming plaza on Castle Downs Rd & 137. @thebedouinsyeg is a definite #iykyk gem with flavourful North African food and amazing hospitality. Our first time there, we weren't sure what to order since everything sounded so good. We ended up with the mixed kebabs (chicken & beef - normally, I'm not one to choose chicken but it was definitely the winner between the two!). I couldn't decide between the roasted lamb or the smoked/stewed lamb - so they brought me BOTH. Like, two full portions of meat - and only charged me for one. . I thought I'd prefer the grilled but the lamb in the package with vegetables was sooo tender & amazing. Both entrees came with rice/fries & salads. They also brought us the daily soups to start (the lentil was soooooo goood!!) and fresh bread & a plate of dips. And after all that, free desserts. We were SO stuffed after these super generous meals and our bill was sooo reasonable! They treated everyone who walked through the doors as though they were the best of friends and it was just lovely to be part of it. They're definitely known for their chicken tajeen and their steak, but definitely check out other things on the menu!

As first time customers we were treated to what our server called The Bedouin Experience and that's exactly what it was. Eating at The Bedouins is an authentic Moroccan diner. Our server was very helpful ad basically did all the ordering for us. We started the meal with a light super flavourful soup. A splash of lemon to cut the heat to just the right amount. At least for my pallet. Next up was the potato egg cakes. Basically like a mini quiche. We also got to sample a plate with a combo of hummus and roasted vegetable dips, served with a side of whole wheat pita. Both dips had a unique flavour twist that is different from other similar dishes I've had. For main course we shared both the chicken and lamb. Both we served in a tangine on top of a bed of saffron rice. We also got a side of two salads. One spicy and one citrusy. Both complimented the meat dishes. The meat was so tender it pretty much fell off the bone. Which is hard not an easy feat with lamb. To finish the meal we were served a sampling of amazing bit sized squares and fresh mint tea. All in all it was an amazing meal and an amazing price with amazing service. Definitely a must try.

If you are ever looking for some authentic Moroccan dishes, or to try something new, this is the place to be! Who knew that this small strip mall would have such an outstanding cozy restaurant in it? There is a a decent amount of parking, and it wasn't very busy so we were seated instantly. The hospitality here is incredible. I believe the owner is also the host and if you are a first timer, you are treated to an amazing assortment of dishes from their menu on top of your order. I cannot recommend that soup enough, it looks unassuming, but the taste... it's very bold & flavourful with the mint & lemon, I'd come back for that anytime. We also were treated to hummus and veggie dip along with side salad and a sampling of another main dish, I can't recall the name, but it was good and spicy. I ordered chicken Tajeen and hubby ordered lamb mendhi. I should've read the previous reviews here on yelp because each of our dishes would easily feed two people, but you can pack the rest for home. Also with pricing, it's an amazing value. I'm also pleased they're also available on skip the dishes too!

I cannot say their Beef Steak was extraordinary but it was good, cooked well and was delicious. The rice was not enough and French frieze was okay.

Sultan is a very relaxing place!! Middle eastern music is playing, lights are dim, and the air is filled with hookah smoke scent. Sultan offers a good variety of foods, salads, hummus and shawarmas. I took the hummus plate accompanied by warmed up pita bread - it was very delicious!!! I also drank mint tea, which was good and warming. Turkish coffee is also served, along with non-alcoholic drinks (smoothies and soft drinks), alcoholic beverages (beer, whine, shots). Finally, they have of course hookah pipes, with a long list of flavours to choose from. I decided to go with double apple flavour, but they have many other fruit and/or mint flavours. A few extra charcoal pucks are added, so you can take your time to smoke, drink and eat, while listening to music!! I look forward to coming back to try their other foods.

Both were excellent and creamy and the bread is amazing. It is made to order with the wood fire oven. Absolutely lovely. Then we had assorted meat which included meat balls, lamb chops, swordfish and chicken. All were cooked well and tasty, although besides the meatballs, the marinate seemed the same. It would be nice to get other flavours. A bulgur pilaf which was delicous and perfectly cooked and tomato-ey and a lovely dressed green salad came to accent the meat. For dessert a less sweet baklava which is perfect in my opinion and a good ending to the dinner.
