Portions were very large, we ended up sharing two plates between the three of us. Chicken thigh plate and Chicken kafta plate was amazing. There was also a layered lotus biscoff cookie trifle that was out of this world. They come to your table and pour a complementary deliciously sweetened black tea to go with everything as well! Parking was a bit of a challenge as the area was super busy. Chicken schwarma wrap was yummy but heavy on the sauce (would just asked for less sauce next time) Garlic potatoes were good! The smaller, crispier ones were the best. The chicken schwarma plate was awesome - chicken, rice, salad, potatoes, hummus and pita bread. My husband ate the whole thing but he said he could have shared. Price was just a little more than McDs which is awesome. Way more food! The restaurant was busy!! I came here because it was close to my hotel, and OMG! It was DELICIOUS! I ordered it to go, and I didn't take any pictures because after the first bite, I couldn't stop eating. I got the chicken and doner mixed plate. It had hummus, salad, rice, chicken, doner, and garlic potatoes. I would highly recommend this place!! I'm a big fan of Jerusalem Shawarma. They offer tasty, healthy meals with lots of vegetarian options at an affordable price. The portions are very generous. My husband and I were able to share a falafel platter with a side of dolma and it was more than enough food for both of us. Everything tastes fresh and flavourful. The food was AMAZING! We had the lamb Kafka platter and it was so filling! The tahini was creamy and nutty. The potatoes and the garlic sauce is stellar We are so full. They make the best baklava I've ever had. We were brought lovely little cups of tea, that was so soothing. We finished the meal with a mint lemonade that was refreshing. We've been coming to Jerusalem Shawarma since it opened. My wife and I come here regularly because the food is so flavourful and delicious. Even though the restaurant is a pay and sit, there are still servers that come around offer the most delicious tea you will ever taste, bring you your food and then continue to be attentive. The ambiance is fun and happy due to everyone having great conversations and the Arabic music being played which is quite festive. My wife and I highly recommend this place as we love coming at least once if not twice a month for the top notch food and service. read more

My partner and I stopped in at Jerusalem Shawarma for lunch. It was surprisingly large inside with lots of tables. One glance above the food preparation area at the menu photos will leave you with information overload. However the main wraps, shawarmas, and donairs are shown just above the pay area so focus on those for more limited choices. The other selections are probably for shared dishes and various bowls. There are a lot of choices. After placing our order we waited by the food prep area while making selections just like in most smaller donair and shawarma places. You can choose veggies, sauces and spice it up at this point too. They then put them in a press to toast them lightly and then they're done. We took ours to booth that could easily accommodate six people and began to eat. I was very pleased with my chicken shawarma although after asking for banana peppers and hot sause it wasn't particularly spicy. It was flavourful though. My partner enjoyed her beef wrap but said it wasn't very warm. The decor was pretty nice. It's bright, clean and the lighting is on theme and quite nice. Sorry but I didn't check for WiFi. There's plenty of free parking which is no surprise as it's located in South Edmonton Common right next to the huge Canadian Tire Store. I rather enjoyed my shawarma so I know that I'll be back for another one or to try something else. Overall Jerusalem Shawarma is a nice addition to the Edmonton food scene. read more

Has the tastiest smoothies! I always get one when I go in, you literally get what you pay for here and more! The owner is super sweet and their facilities are always so clean & tidy. I had the Meat Lovers Platter (chicken, beef and donair), plenty of food and good. Really enjoyed the toum (garlIc aioli) as it was fluffy and light. Okay, just craving a falafel. Just some falafel. These guys are amazing. Hubby had a beef shawarma, literally HUGE. All the pickled things, garlic sauce (oh my) hummus (oh my). Did I say huge? I loved the busy atmosphere. There were so many selections, I narrowed on a conservative selection of Beef Shawarma. Unlike a beef Donair, they use beef cuts that is sliced and seasoned nicely, the pickled vegetables that give it a fresh acidity, but the best of all was the quality of the bread wrap that was crispy and flaky on the outside, but soft and chewy in the inside. Overall, it was quite a delicious experience. I was not aware that I had an allergic sensitivity to tahini, as it be by lips tingle. I had been at the waiting area and keeping full attention to what the names they were calling. About 35 minutes later, I was told to wait for another 5 mins - the person did not even check my order. This place is amazing. The size of the shawarma wraps are massive and delicious. I could not finish it. I love that the wraps are made to order in front of you so you can pick all your toppings. They gave me a small falafel sample and I'll definitely be getting that next time. My friend and I stopped in at Jerusalem Shawarma South Common to get a donair. When we got there I observed some very nice looking platters were being made. We had come in for a donair. We each ordered a donair, and sat down to wait for them. A nice gentlement brought us a cup of tea. They have very good tea there. We got our beef donairs ordered with lettuce tomato onion and sweet sauce. There was literally no tomato, one skinny piece of onion, and the skimpiest almost non existant meat in the donair. Donair meat is shaved very thin, and has multiple layers. This had one thin thin layer. It was almost tasteless. I couldn't taste any sweet sauce , and to top it all off...the lettuce which there was more of then the thin layer of meat...was slimy. This was hands down the worst donair I have ever been served. It was $27. for two donairs that were discusting. We were starving, and so terribly dissappointed that ANYONE would serve such an awful sandwich to us. We took a few bites because we were so hungry, but honestly it was discusting. My friend wanted to leave to go find some edible food, and did not want me to speak to anyone there about it. I felt I had to speak up, as no one should ever be served a donair like that. It was so dissappointing, considering other food was being made that looked very good. The man I told about the donair wanted to have them remade, but my friend was already out the door, and wanted no part of any more food from there. I did not ask for my money back although in retrospect, I should have. I won't be back to this establishment, as this was the second bad donair I have had there. I thought the first time, although it wasn't as bad, was just someone having a bad day. That day I ate half of it, and threw the rest away. I feel that it is very easy to make a good donair. They have everything at their fingertips, and there is absolutely no reason to make it so down right awful. Other locations serve much better food consistantly. Food is good but had bad experience last time we went there... we literally lost our appetite to finish our food... crew told us that in 30 mins they're closing. But annoying that the crew kept on coming back every 5 mins... we are closing in 25 mins... we are closing in 20 mins... we are closing in 15 mins... it's not a shop or fast food! My overall experience was good. Very tasty rice, tawooq and salad. However, the bbq portion is still limited. I ordered bbq for five and received limited beef and chicken portion. The overall portion including rice and the different salads were great at the end. Will try the shawerma soon read more
