The kids have lots of time for play, both in the sunny classrooms with views of the river, and in their two outdoor playgrounds and indoor gym. Although the school is play-based, they also do a lot of learning through play! I've been amazed at how my son's writing ability has grown this year. The specials (library, art, music, and dance) are also a real highlight of the Weekday School. My son has been bringing home amazing art projects, and showing us the songs and dances that he learned at school. Most importantly, the teachers are so experienced and caring. They really get to know each child as an individual, and my son has bonded very strongly with his teachers. Ms. Daina, the director, is incredibly warm, dedicated, and accessible. She knows all the children, is involved on a day-to-day level, and provides a lot of guidance for the kindergarten application process. We have had a wonderful experience with the Weekday School. It is a magical place for children!

On his initial diagnostic test, his ability to focus was 'low average' and his frequency of breaks and guidance from tutor were 'often.' Bright Kids did a very good job in preparing my son and teaching him some tricks and test taking skills. Gratefully, my son scored well and is currently attending a citywide G&T school. Our child frequently got different instructors administering the lessons. After each lesson, I would be given a quick recap of what occurred. Later a more descriptive summary report would arrive via email. This was useful in helping me to concentrate in certain areas of weakness at home. Our Account Specialist Taylor was very responsive, he answered emails promptly and was very accommodating with our scheduling issues. The only negative experience we had at Bright Kids was with the Round 2 Hunter playdate. It was overpriced, with 3 sentences of vapid feedback.

Within a week she was counting in French. Within 4 weeks she was singing in French. Within 2 months she was interspersing French words into daily conversation, comprehending basic conversation, and asking us "how do you say that ins French" about everything! The artsy, cozy setting in the first floor of a brownstone, is the perfect blend of New York and France! The director is passionate about the art- and exploration-based approach to learning. The teachers are warm, knowledgeable, and nurturing. We were anxious at enrollment as this was our daughter's first separation experience from both her parents and nanny. The educators at LPE transitioned her beautifully with frequent updates - she was comfortable and excited to go to school within a week. We have found the LPE parent community to be welcoming, down to earth, and interesting. We look forward to continuing to engage with this community both in and out of school. It's like going to church and school at the same time. It's right next door to St. Ignatius Church where I attended daily mass before the pandemic. I've witnessed the results of their academic programs and recommend them wholeheartidly. Just be aware this quality education has a steep price. As far as the atmosphere, I love the statues and I'm always reading the awards and trophies. I'm sure I've captured as much as I can in my photos. It's like a museum in a school since there's a lot of history here. I have met many nice employees and feel welcome. I'm fortunate I've been able to visit inside to participate. Parents beware of Ms Larkin - This place is scary…read more I enrolled my son in Kindergarten and was initially thrilled that he was going to get a Catholic education. He is a good 5 year old and has struggles with going to the bathroom at school. His teacher was initially sympathetic to our situation and was working with us to get it resolved but then Ms Larkin intervened. We were called into Ms Larkins office where she acted like dictator with zero compassion or flexibility. She demanded we get him fully potty trained and provided no resources to help. Following our meeting, she sent us a note saying our son could not attend the school until he had no accidents. We sent a note telling her the steps we were taking including pulling him from school to get intensive training. When we returned him to school, she systematically instituted a program of intimidation to force her will on us. She went directly after him instructing the teachers and staff to pull him from class anytime he had an accident and place him in isolation where had to sit in his own excrement until we picked him up - this happened multiple times and caused my son significant distress. We then pulled him for two weeks to get more intensive potty training that involved hiring an expert hoping this would resolve the situation. When we returned him school he had another accident because the program included a laxative regime and they pulled him again making him sit in a room alone for 2 hours without changing him - I almost cried at the pain they put this little boy through. Ms Larkin personally oversaw all of this instructing the staff to do her dirty work while they ruthlessly went directly after him with no regard to his education or feelings. She also called my wife after I sent her an email complaint trying to turn the situation back in us while using intimidation and leverage over us as working parents. I have never experienced such thuggish behavior in my entire life l and no less from a Catholic institution that claims to teach the Catholic faith. My son cried at home for months as we went through this trauma and it impacted all aspects of our family life. I want others to know the type of people they could be dealing with if their children have issues. Ms Larkin systematically leveraged the full force of her staff to go after a 5 year old boy and us as his parents with the ruthless purpose of making us bend to her will. It is sad, as a lifelong Catholic who just wanted his son have a Catholic education, to see this school and associated church stray so far from its stated purpose. I feel I need to write this so that others understand the type of behavior my 5 year old son and wife experienced at the hands of Ms Larkin and her staff. My only hope is that others will read this and understand what they are getting into or lodge similar complaints if they had issues like we had because this must be addressed.

We are extremely disappointed how Diller handled their classes during pandemic. We've seen other…read moremusic place immediately shift their platform to online class such as zoom while everybody is ordered to stay at home. However, diller didn't provide any online class, the only thing we got is a weekly email with some crappy links, like mp3. With all the things start to reopen in the summer, we start to see outdoor music classes held by others. So we followed up with diller and hope they will arrange some make up classes, if not, get prorated refund. Unfortunately, their respond email is that we will not get any refunds even the classes are only held half during the semister. And we should be appreciate their emails and should be thankful as other families do. We spent around $1,300 for the whole semester, which will be 15 classes, until pandemic happened, we only took 7 classes, and now the rest is just forfeited (who will even count email as a class, not mention for a baby). Diller's class is the most expensive one among other baby music classes, the reason we chose them is that they have a piano player with each class, and we also want to establish a relationship with the school so my kid will learn instruments with them when they grow. But after Covid-19, we realized that the main goal Diller-Quaile has is to make money, they didn't really care if my baby learned any music. Until now, we didn't get any respond from them how they handle the missed classes, we only got respond because we followed up with them. But we still get their emails to donate money to help out kids learn music. We also saw that they updated their next semester registration. They will provide both online and in-person classes. And the price will be different. Our questions to Diller is that: if you have online classes, why you didn't provide it to my baby during pandemic, if the price is different, why we didn't get refund? It is obvious that they only spent time to build up this registration platform so you can pay them, but they will never refund you. Good luck to all who choose Diller-Quaile!
