They offer wine tastings on Saturdays (and Fridays I think) and there is a fun selection of mirrors, signs and flattened glass bottles. He also has a great sense of customer service. Once, when I asked to see if there was a type of wine that he would be able to get, he wrote it down and purchased an entire case and put it on the shelves! While prices may not be as inexpensive as the Costco across the street, I feel great about supporting this local business. This is my primary source for brews, wine & spirits! Go check it out!!!

Family owned and operated. If you aren't from the area than you don't realize what this liquor store offers. If you are from this area or the one in West Allis, then you probably are spoiled with what they have to offer! I rarely go in and not find what I am looking for (except at times beers and sometimes wines). That's not a knock... what place provides you with any wine you want? What sets Discount Liquor apart is the knowledge experts in wines. They were voted as 50 best wine stores in America... you have a question, ask and you shall receive. Price is good on most, cheaper than some but the variety is unsurpassed... maybe besides Total Wines. If you can't find something talk to an employee and they will help you with ordering it or find a close replacement. I have been looking for Rombauer Zin and they made a suggestion to go with Truett-Hurst Zin and we agreed, it is a close match. We entered and meandered as we always do entering a Kwik Trip. We made our rounds looking at all they had prepared. The store was clean and actively being tended to by their staff. I had my heart set on a sweet tea, but alas the tea had not been brewed with a note saying unavailable for today's date. We jokingly dramatized our grief for this occurrence and were overheard by a staff member. Enter Xavier. I quickly told him it was totally fine, and I would certainly live without it. He checked all the tanks and even agreed with me that the unsweet tea (the only full tank) was disgraceful and a sin. I carried on selecting one of their numerous other quality beverage options, and before I knew it Xavier had returned with a coupon for a free beverage. I was astounded and grateful to receive that albeit totally unnecessary. How kind was he! It was as if he took personal accountability for the mishap; what company integrity and behavior! I thought this gesture was so sweet, and while not expecting anything for such a silly little event, it's certainly a nice change of pace in our current world of customer service. Upon checkout, the cashier, Maya, handled the our transaction just as pleasant and friendly as ever. This location certainly has some of the best staff across the brand and makes us feel appreciated as customers so matter how small the purchase.

She attempted to take $1 off, I corrected her and said it was a can of Zyn for $1. She then proceed to charge me $1.29 before tax. I asked what didn't she understand about a can of Zyn for $1 and why she wouldn't scan the coupon. She insisted she couldn't scan the coupon because of some company policy. I took my coupons and left. I'd rather not deal with this woman or location at all. How this woman still has a job here is beyond me. I've been coming here for years and she has never once smiled, has never once properly greeted me or other guest and gives a stupid stare when you ask how she is doing. If you have been to this location, you know the woman.

I watched her try and redeem herself with a group of people she basically told to leave upon entering. You could tell they had already been drinking and wanted a night cap. After negotiating (read: arguing) with her, she eventually agreed to serve them if they would "drink quick." The staff act like they're doing you a big favor. Every time. It also seems they overestimate their people skills. Maybe they don't care? Who knows. I just know this place could be so fun but the toxic vibes make me question if I'll go back. Too bad.
