My husband and I came here last week for a couples massage while we were in VA Beach for vacation. We are from PA. I work in the spa industry ( I am an esthetician and a colon hydrotherapist) whenever I go on vacation I always find a place to go to for a massage. I wanted to write this review because I loved this place so much and I am so sad I cant come here on a regular basis.I had Ashley for my massage and my husband had Jennifer. We both loved our massages! It was much needed as I was long overdue for one so I was very nervous that I would not get a good massage but luckily that was not the case. Ashley did a great job at working on my trouble areas. Pam so soooooo nice! When I talked to her on the phone we I scheduled she was so plesant I was beyond impressed and in person she was the same as well. It was also very nice to get hot towels and organic tea when we came in the reception area. If we ever go to VA beach for vacation again, we def will be coming back here for a massage and possibly other treatments! read more

About a month ago, at another salon (not Aveda), I had a bad experience with highlight and cut. My hair was burnt and needed several inches cut. I called Best Body Co. for an appointment for a haircut cut and partial highlight. I explained my bad experience while my appointment was booked. About 45 minutes later, the same lady who booked my appointment called and said the salon could not accommodate my needs, and I would have to go elsewhere for services. I was shocked and near tears. She said I needed to find another salon for my needs. She ended the conversation by saying, "I'm going to go now; goodbye!" The moral of this story is don't tell them anything negative about a past bad hair experience because they will hold it against you, and you'll be discriminated against. I'm sure they think once a complainer, always a complainer, and it wasn't my fault my hair was burnt. So unprofessional and unfortunate. Be wary. read more

I am a fan of this establishment. I almost exclusively come here for haircuts, color, shampoo products and massages. I had a massage here yesterday and the gal who did my massage (I cannot remember her name but she had a short reddish bob haircut) was fantastic. She was very friendly and nice and helpful, showed me a few stretches to do after we finished up, and took her time with me. The massage was excellent. What I did not love was the fact that the members of the gym upstairs apparently have their weight room above the massage rooms and when they are lifting really heavy weights and throwing them on the floor it sounds like someone is using a jackhammer above the massage room. Not fun when you are listening to Yanni and trying to find your inner zen. It went on for about 10-15 minutes of my 60 minute massage, so it wasn't the whole time, and I have been here for about 3 other massages and never had this happen, but this time it was very loud and very obnoxious so I wasn't very happy with it overall. It stinks because I love Aveda products and massages and the scents and smells of the establishment but I might just have to find another place to go for my massages because it wasn't relaxing to jump out of my skin every time a huge weight crashed down to the floor above me. This is a great massage place, very clean and modern looking like a top-notch spa. There are many rooms available for massages, which makes it very easy to get an appointment without much advance notice. For example, I woke up with a sore neck and was able to get a massage the same day during my 1-hour lunch break. That kind of convenience is hard to find at a spa. I was lucky to receive a gift certificate to Best Body for Christmas. What a nice gift. I got a 1-hour combination that included a 20-minute foot massage, 20-minute facial and 20-minute body massage. What a great way to pamper yourself! I don't have a favorite massage therapist there. I usually just take whoever is available and have never walked away unhappy. read more

So, what does a girl do when she is in training far from home and has a long lunch break? She finds the nearest, higher rated spa in the area and gets a full body massage!!! :D I called this place and made an appt within 30 mins. Upon arrival, I was promptly greeted, asked to fill out a form, and offered herbal tea. Then, one of the girls bout me a hot, aromatherapy towel. Nice touch. I was taken into the massage room on time and we started on time. I was on the table for a full hour!! Some places advertise 1-hour massage but you only get 50 mins. My massage therapist was Kayla. She had very strong hands! She was awesome! Since I was returning to work, I asked for lotion instead of oil. They use Aveda products and I was very pleased since I did not feel greasy afterwards. This spa was bright, clean, cheery, smelled great AND they offer a military discount! If I am in the area again, I will definitely return!!! read more

This is a Class "A" spa! The massages are the best in town. Meticulous, soft lighting, soft music or nature sounds, heated bed, non-allergenic lotions and oils Aveda products, warm cloths heated constantly in crockpots, and excellent staff. My favorite massage therapist (who is also a RN) is Kathy. Kathy has the strongest hands in the world! Her personality is very warm and inviting. Best Body Co is in the same shopping center as Wareing's Gym. I've worked out at Wareing's for 12 years, but I had never stepped foot into Best Body Co (not sure why)... until last night. The atmosphere is very cool & modern. They're an Aveda salon, so they use all Aveda products, which I love. This review is based solely on the manicure & pedicure I received last night. And I do need to preface my review by saying that I only went to Best Body Co b/c my regular place, Salon Vivace, didn't have a last minute appt available & I was in desperate need... So I was comparing Best Body to Salon Vivace throughout the entire mani/pedi. The Best Body esthetician was very friendly. Overall, she did a very nice mani & pedi. However, she did over-clip my cuticles & the manicure seemed rushed. The pedicure was much better. However, for only $4 more at Salon Vivace I can get a complete pampering luxurious mani/pedi. I just got the basic mani/pedi from Best Body ($60). I get the Hydrating Mani/Pedi from Salon Vivace for $64. The upgraded mani/pedi at Best Body is $90! That's crazy! Even the most expensive mani/pedi as Salon Vivace (which includes hot stones & a lot of other stuff that the Best Body one doesn't) is less, $84. But to be fair, Best Body was able to accommodate me at the last minute (same day) & overall it was an enjoyable experience. read more

My husband and I just went for a 90 Minute Couple's Massage with Casey and Dawn. Both my husband and I feel very relaxed. The tables are really comfortable and get you in the zone. The mint massage oil was also a good aid in relieving our tension, which we both have a lot of. Our 12 hour drive from Boston didn't help! Our only wish is that you couldn't hear the noise from the gym upstairs. Overall very relaxing though. We'd go back! read more

This business took my remaining gift card balance because I had to cancel an appointment. A cancellation fee was never disclosed to me when I made the appointment. Yes, it was same day cancellation, but as a service business they should be understanding that life happens sometimes. I really wanted to keep my appointment, but unfortunately had to cancel. AVEDA salons are my favorite! I have visited this location twice now. My last visit I called on a Sunday (one of the FEW salons around open on a Sunday) and they fit me in that afternoon. I got a haircut, highlight, and pedicure. I loved that they did the pedicure while my highlights were setting in (multitasking at it's best)! I have used two different stylists and loved them both. They have a lot to offer at this salon: haircare, nailcare, massages, facials, wraps, and more! Check out their website...so many options! Husband wanted a massage while we were on vacation, so he did some yelping and made an appointment for a 60 minute couples massage here. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted with warm essential oils infused towels and peppermint tea. For our massages, husband was with Jera and I had the pleasure of working with Heather. Heather took a look at my information form and asked if there was any area I'd like her to focus on, and I told her that my neck and shoulders could use some attention. Heather was very professional and made me feel comfortable during my entire time at the spa. She definitely worked out any kinks I had in my shoulders. I felt like a kobe cow or a lump of pizza dough being kneaded. It felt so good. I docked one star because husband felt like he did not receive the same kind of attention that I did with Heather. If my stylist wouldn't have had the professional courtesy to track me down and let me know that she was no longer at this salon, I would have shown up for my appointment and she wouldn't have even been there! I have been coming to Best Body Co. for haircuts for over a year now, and wouldn't imagine going anywhere else! I live over 20 miles away in Norfolk, and make the drive to this salon every 6 weeks because it is just the best. The entire staff is warm, welcoming and enthusiastic. Of course, the salon itself smells wonderfully of Aveda products, and every time I enter I get offered tea or water. My stylist, Allyx, is extremely skilled at every style of cut, men's or women's. Recently I went to the salon for a Brazilian wax, and had the most wonderful experience. In addition to the friendly staff (Ashley), this wax was more thorough and less painful than any I've recievedbefore (and I'm a seasoned veteran with Brazilians). This salon has always done a nice job on blowouts on my long hair--the ambience is very calming and the stylists are friendly. They also use Aveda products, which I love because they are more natural. Most importantly, however, this business operates with integrity. When I had an experience during which I was overcharged for a service without consultation beforehand, I wrote a letter to the manager. She called me as soon as she received my letter and apologized, letting me know that she would refund my money and use this as a training opportunity for stylists about communicating with clients about cost. I really apprecited this gesture--my letter could have gone ignored (prompting a negative review here!), but instead my concerns were dealt with promptly, with honesty and integrity. My first impression was good. Then I got a hair cut which I thought was OK. But when I got home and showered, I saw that my sides were really uneven. So I went back two days later and asked for a correction. The woman at the desk said jen was with someone and it would be awhile. I said I just wanted the 25$ hair cut to be corrected, just fix it. Recently, while trying to schedule a place for mani/pedis for myself & a friend who I had not see in 30 years I was disappointed by my first and second choice of spas. Both high end places that I have used before. Neither could accommodate us for the service at the same time. What's the point of going together if one has to wait while the other rec'vs the service?? A third place was able to accommodate us, but after visiting I decided that it would be too noisy and not relaxing (long rows of stations with loud music playing). Finally, I went back online and found the Best Body Company. I've lived in Virginia Beach for 20 yrs and had never heard of it before. Thank goodness I did this time! When I called, I was almost disappointed again because I was told they did not have enough staff to do the services at the time we could schedule. But, this is the DIFFERENT part of the story.....instead of saying "no" outright, they said they would try to work something out and would call me back before the end of the day, and they did! My friend and I arrived on a drizzly, cool morning to warm welcomes and a mug of hot mint tea. It was the beginning of a wonderful spa day for us. We had a great time, professional service and fun conversations with the staff that did our services (Natalie and I wish I could remember the other woman's name, but she was middle aged with a stylish strawberry-blond bob hair cut). After our services we were completed we were told to sit and relax as long as we wanted to let the polish dry. This was different as most places rush you out. Three of us were visiting VA Beach a couple of weeks ago for a girls weekend away and the first thing on our agenda was a 90-minute relaxation massage. All three of us were VERY happy with our massage therapists, the atmosphere of the salon, and our overall experience. None of us are pushovers, and will be able to speak up if something isn't quite right - but all we could do all weekend long was marvel about how wonderful the experience was for all of us! Aside from the massage therapists being thorough and top-notch, the front desk staff were all very personable and welcoming, and the hot towels we got as we were filling out our paperwork were a great little touch as well. We even got some great recommendations for eateries and things going on for the weekend we were in town. I think I can speak for my friends when I say that next year, when we visit Virginia Beach again - a stop at Best Body Co will be the first thing on our agenda as well! read more

WOW. My husband and I went to Virginia Beach to celebrate our anniversary of 34 years. We thoroughly enjoyed a couples massage, thank you Jennifer and Nate. From the minute we arrived we were acknowledged, greeted, engaged and offered a wonderful cup of tea. The swedish massage and reflexology was superb. The setting was comfortable and soothing.
