We came here for a military event for my cousin, who is a fallen soldier. The staff at this event was top notch. The event center is beautiful and we enjoy our visit year for the rededication reception. We were able to park up close to the entrance. We were very lucky, as there were numerous events going on that weekend. So it was crowded. There were plenty of directional signs everywhere and the staff was there to greet you and show you exactly where to go for your event. The staff checked on us as soon as were seated and the manager came around also to check on us during the reception. She was so kind and was very attentive. The food there was absolutely amazing. We had salad to start and the entree consisted of beef and chicken, with rice, carrots and green beans. Both, the beef and chicken were so tender and everything was seasoned really well. We also enjoyed the bar, as the bar tender was really friendly and made great suggestions. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit, as the event space was large, clean, and had a great ambiance to it. The scenery outside was also breathtaking at night. This place is a gem. read more

This event center is gorgeous, 5/5 location and spaces to rent. Their catering is pricey but is always delicious. Staff seems to do a good job handling multiple events simultaneously and keeping large groups separated. Drink services are atrocious, I've been there for multiple events and the bar line is always extremely long, super slow and over priced. The bartenders are working hard as best they can but management fails to properly staff the bars with enough people or have multiple bars. I've had events where most people only were able to get one drink the entire evening and call it quits early solely because of the bar. If the Bibb ever gets their bar situation corrected they'd be a 5/5 event center hands down. read more

We held a Christmas party for our staff at the beautiful facility over looking the river. It reminds me of a place you might find in Seattle. It's an event space in a small town with a much larger feel. I would recommend the SPACE in a hot minute. Billing for the room on top of the food and bar was a bit much but if you can get people to pay, why not. Having done events all over the world, paying for the room was a first. The food was descent maybe good for Columbus and the staff was attentive enough. Now I draw the line when I see people I am paying eating off a buffet I paid for. My guest can't take any of the food with them but employees of the Bibb center can help themselves, this is unacceptable. I've said before and I'll say it again, the work force in Columbus is substandard. So I guess I should expect anything less. read more

Went to a wedding the other week and the scenery was beautiful! It was set to rain so they had to move everything indoors. The event space was large and there was plenty of space between the tables, bar, photo booth, and dance floor. Definitely a special place! read more

The Bibb Mill Event Center - Venues & Event Spaces Near Me - Columbus, Georgia

I was so excited about this venue and all I can say now is AVOID BOOKING WITH THIS VENUE AT ALL COSTS!!!! We communicated with Kim for the majority, and although she was nice, the amount of time it took to get a response via email was absurd. At some point, we got passed along to Gracie. Gracie promised so much and made me feel like she would go above and beyond for us. After our food tasting, Gracie became our point of contact. Again, the time is took to respond to an email was absurd. Our initial contract stated the menu consisted of a meat, chicken and fish dish and 3 different salads. It wasn't until our tasting in July 2022 that we were made aware of the fish being cut with no price adjustment, but we could add the fish at an additional cost. The menu was also cut to 2 salad choices. I was told MULTIPLE times that the day before the wedding, I could start bringing items in as early as 9am so that we didn't have to do it on the morning of the wedding. We were also informed that our reception room would already be set so that we could go ahead and place our center pieces. I was instructed that there would be an event on our side, but not in our reception room, so we had access to that room AND the bridal suite so that I could go ahead and put my bridesmaids gifts in the room and lock things up. We got there around 11am and I went to the office to let Gracie know we were there and she then informed me that the Bridal Suite was being used, so we couldn't store our items in there. Our reception room was not set, the head table wasn't out and the linens that I requested, were not on the tables. As we were trying to set up what we could and bring things in, the bridal party had an issue with us being there and went to the office to complain. Gracie then came to me and told me that they were upset and that we needed to finish up. Kim then came to chat with us about it and said that this event had the Bridal Suite booked the whole time, but because Gracie wasn't handling it, she didn't know. I'm not sure how they continue to run a venue and not know the details of each others bookings. The diagram created for the ceremony room layout was for 15 rows of 8 per side; however, there were only 15 rows of 6 each side. We were told twice that Bibb provided a locked box for gift cards with Bibb retaining the key for security.  The box was never put out, so guests continued to come up to us throughout the night asking what to do with their gifts/cards. We had a split bar (open to a certain amount and then changed to a card bar) and guests were made to pay for beer and wine at the beginning of the reception! Some were told they were out of beer because it was all consumed by the groom and groomsmen prior to the wedding -- Brandi, the Food and Beverage Assistant told the coordinator that the groomsmen and bridesmaids consumed almost 3 cases of beer. My dad and step dad were in the room with groomsmen and said that was impossible. At one point, my dad went to the bar and was asked to pay, a guest said "this is the brides dad" and all of the sudden, the beer was "on the house". My mom had to attempt to locate servers to start the dinner service. Food was being plated by ONE employee and at one point was instructing people to serve themselves. They ran out of sweet tea, even though we informed them that majority of the guests were only sweet tea drinkers! We had SO MANY LEFTOVERS, but never received a to go box. After questioning as to why, we were told that they do not have that noted in the file or on the BEO that this was requested. Unfortunately, this isn't everything that went wrong. Prior to our wedding and after, I have done wedding makeup on several occasions at Bibb Mill and almost all of the brides have complained about their experience with Bibb. We used the Highlands Chapel and the Bibb Room for our January wedding, and it was absolutely perfect. I started off my wedding planning while I was living in the Caribbean and Beth made it so easy for me---she even took videos of the rooms to email to me since I couldn't be there in person to take a tour! She definitely went above & beyond. When Beth went on maternity leave, Brittany & Jessica stepped in for coordinating purposes and they were fantastic! They were very responsive to all my last minute calls and emails and so friendly & accommodating. Even the day-of, they were calm and professional and if there was any hint of stress creeping up on me, they dissolved it immediately. Definitely go for the Milner Coordinating Services, it's one of the best investments we made for our wedding! I can't thank yall enough! The food was outstanding! My guests are still raving about our meals. Best wedding food I've ever had. And they sent me & my husband away with to-go boxes piled high with food! I love that the caterer was included; it was just one less vendor I had to find, which is perfect for non-planners like myself. I love the location, with the exposed brick and large windows and wooden beams, it was just a beautiful ballroom. The grounds overlook the river and there are plenty of spots for beautiful photos. My husband and I did our first look outside and the photos are amazing. read more
