I got to spend three weeks here and it was the absolute BEST TIME of my life. I wish I could come back here as often as I could. And as a single female I feel totally comfortable in this environment. We rented a John boat with a trolling motor so my guys could fish whenever they wanted. The paddleboards and kayaks are free and you can use them whenever you want. The house was very clean and well organized when we arrived. We had zero issues with checking in or out--very smooth process. The escape room was fun and a good way to get out of the sun. We mostly just relaxed by the big lake and just soaked it all in. If you want a real East Texas getaway--Deer Lake is the place!!

When we visit them, we do not spend much time on the lake because we like to stare at it while sitting in their big swing sipping Prosecco. There are cranes, feral hogs, deer, unique birds and other wildlife in this part of Texas. Should I mention we heard banjos playing in the pines...? The "Ranch" development offers a golf course, restaurant, tennis courts, miniature golf and boating. Lush dogwoods were in bloom when we were there recently, along with beautiful wildflowers and tall pines. I think when I die, heaven will look like Holly Lake Ranch.

There is a gas grill outside and we grilled steaks and sat around the fire pit. We brought some movies to watch since there is a DVD player. The hot water never runs out so it was nice to take a long hot shower. Nice weekend getaway. Would definitely stay here again!

Our cabin had two window AC units that were NOT sufficient to cool the cabin, we asked management to resolve the problem, and they gave us one portable fan. Did nothing to take more steps to making our stay more comfortable... Stay away from Cabin 9 until they fix the main AC. Another member of our group had the tank of the toilet break and completely flood the cabin, and management gave her towels to dry the water. They had no way to turn the water off and we had to find a wrench to turn the water off ourselves. The other members of our group checked the toilets in their cabins and two others had cracks in the toilet tanks. Lots of improvements needed to make this place enjoyable and we have decided it's better to go elsewhere. You can find better also.
