My interaction with the staff is always pleasant and they go out of their way to make sure I am happy, whether it is accommodating a room location request, extra towels or replacing lost room key. The hosts were able to hold a small block of rooms for me during a recent stay with family coming in from all over Texas. And have offered to help secure rooms in other cities as I was traveling to other locations.

I told the concierge I couldn't do it and cancel my hotel. She said she would still charge me for a night or put me in a smaller room for the same rate. Wow! I said smaller room, higher floor, and a manager in the morning since she was not on the property. Get to my room on 3rd floor and miraculously it was the same size room I first requested on the highest floor. Hmmm. I'll post a pic and let you all decide why I was told the lie in the first place. Than proceeded to go back on the agreement we had made at the last minute, they do not stand on their word and as Americans we live by our word. The room was very clean and well appointed with two chairs to sit in that were actually comfortable and had nice cushioning. Not so much as a smudge on the towels. I've stayed in much more expensive hotels that I wouldn't be able to say the same. Kudos to the housekeeping staff :-) I walked-in late in the evening without a reservation after having a horrible experience at the nearby EconoLodge (where I HAD a reservation they would not fulfill). The front desk clerk was very friendly and gave me my military discount, making the room exactly the same price as the nightmare place down the street. No problems here! The room is basic (as one would expect), but comfortable...and did I mention, clean?! One of the things I liked best was not having carpet in the room. With flooring you know what's the n the floor...not so with icky, old carpet. It was a bit noisy several times in the night (mostly cars and people in the parking lot). However, a pleasant enough place to stay overnight while on the road.
