What an absolutely refreshing Company! This Family Owned Business provides 10 Gold Star Old School Customer Service! Steve and Susanna were Santa's Helpers on Christmas Eve! Our kids and grandkids were visiting us and when our 2 Grandsons were ready to go on a bike ride in our neighborhood, Only to discover one of the tires on our 5 year old Grandsons bike would not hold air. He also had hoped his bike would have a kickstand too. I promptly loaded up the bike in my vehicle and on Christmas Eve morning, called ahead to confirm they would be there and I headed to this bike shop hoping I would not get caught in traffic and or find a line out the door or told tube not in stock sorry we wont be able to help you. INSTEAD, I had the smoothest drive from Port Saint Lucie to Stuart, no lights and when I pulled in the parking lot, I backed in and walked in with the bike. Only to find the two owners hard at work on bikes. They were both warm and friendly and in the midst of multi tasking they took care of customers on the phone, the bikes and put not only a new tube on the tire of the bike I brought in Steve put a kickstand on it too! Bravo and 10 Gold Stars to these two!! They literally saved the day and made our Grandsons Visit even better! After living here on the Treasure Coast for a Decade, this Shop is our New Bike Place!! I had a problem with the rear sprocket of my beach bike. I took the wheel in to get the sprocket replaced or repaired and a gentleman at the counter, looked at it got a screwdriver out and fixed it for me at a very reasonable price all in 10 minutes. That was great service and was really appreciated as I didn't have to make a trip back to the shop. read more

The gears on my old Trek Navigator froze, and since I don't have a car, they picked it up. (I live in Stuart. No idea why I am listed as San Francisco) A few days later I was called and told bike repaired. Cost? $208. I fell to the floor. Could I get a senior ore veteran's discount? No. Why didn't you tell me how much it would cost? You didn't ask, Steve said. I won't pay it , I said. We will hold it for 30 days and then sell it, Steve said. A day later I emailed him and asked if he sells it for $300 can I get $92?. No answer. So now I will be looking for a used woman's bike. That's because I now have difficulty swinging my leg around to get on the bike. Thanks Steve. read more

Stopped in to try and find a new saddle as mine is not working for me. The lady that helped me was amazing.. she asked all the questions she needed to help me pick one and she has a ton of knowledge. She even suggested that I just adjust mine which might help before I buy a new one. I would have clearly thrown money at the problem ... whatever needed but when she said her most popular saddle was a really reasonable price... I went for it and so far am very pleased . I will tell you I have been to my share of bike shops and they are often not pleasant... either not customer centered and only interested if you want a new 10g bike.. or are a triathlete ...The honest customer service and friendly atmosphere will definitely bring me back. Love this bike shop! They carry Giant, Scott and Cannondale.. these are the ones that I recall anyway. I wanted to get a decent road bike and need d some help. The staff here is very knowledgeable on bikes and is super friendly and helpful. I like that it is an independent business. Steven and Reese helped me out and let me test ride a few bikes. I picked out a Scott bike with their help and I love it. I definitely recommend The Bike Shop. read more

Initially, I went to a competing bike shop around the corner. Even though I made it clear to the employee that I was green to biking and didn't quite know enough about bicycles to know the best kind/brand for me, he still treated me like an idiot and was condescending. Within ten minutes I walked into The Bike Shop and it was like night-and-day. So friendly and helpful. Within five minutes I had a bike picked out and accessories to help make it mine. And a week later, when a faulty part broke, they went above and beyond to get my bike back on the road, free of charge. I'm so impressed with their customer service and they have my business for good. read more

Brought my bike to T.B.S. on 3/20/20 to fix a flat tire. On 3/27/20 I had to bring the bike back because the same tire was flat again. When I picked the bike up I was informed the the rim liner was bad and caused the tube to pinch be damaged. I protested being charged again for the same service and was told there is no guarantee on tubes. When I returned home I checked the bill from 3/20/20 and found that a new rim liner was installed at that time. If they installed a rim liner on that date the second flat was caused by a faulty liner that was a week old, or I was charged for a liner that was not installed,either way I would think that it would be good business to not charge for the second repair. Of course I will never use this shop for any repairs on my two bikes, and I will inform anyone with a bike in by condo complex of what to expect form T.B.S. Robert Gardner read more

On march 20 I brought my bike to the bike shop to repair a flat tire. On march 7 I brought the bike back to the bike shop because the same tire went flat When I returned to pick up the bike I was informed that a rubber band the protects the tire was bad and that caused the flat. When I questioned being charged again the owner said tubes are not covered, then proceeded to berate me about arguing the charge in these bad times, so I left promising the owner I would never return. When I returned home I checked my march 20 receipt and found that I was charged for the rubber liner which leaves me with the conclusion that either I was charged for the liner but it was not installed, or that liner was defective, either was they should have been responsible . Very dishonest. Went in mid week looked at a bike. They said they could assemble a7 speed of the same model. I asked if they needed a deposit. The man said no. I asked if he would hold it and not sell it to someone else. He said ,SURE They said we will call when it's ready. I got a call late Friday. They said bike is ready. I said great . Are you open weekends. Yes we are here till 5 on Saturday. I did not make it back on Saturday. I went in Monday. They said oh we sold that Saturday. Thanks for the courtesy. I guess if they need whatever little profit they make on a bike from China that bad. They did the rite thing . read more

These guys are pretty ruthless. I manage a bike shop up in New Jersey and had to get a part from them, for a customer of mine, who was doing a ride down in their area. Now, I've worked in shops for 15 years, and in three different states, and it's usually a professional courtesy, when getting parts or bikes from one shop to another, to give a price break. When I asked, the guy Steve for one, he said "we don't even do that for local shops," and to "stop giving him a hard time." Maybe I was expecting too much, but, if that's how they treat other guys in the same industry, then I can't imagine how they treat their customers. read more

Needed a complete drive train replaced on my Road Bike. Went to another shop closer to my home but they were outrageous. I called The Bike Shop spoke to Steve and he came up with a reasonable solution. I also had an issue with a sticky shifter that the other shop wanted to replace at $300-$400. Steve said he would try his best to get it working before we even talk about having to replace it. The work was completed flawlessly, the shifter works like a charm (and it never worked that well since I owned the bike!. When I am ready for the upgrade or need any additional work on my road, mountain or families cruisers they will get all my business. Oh and they were VERY reasonable and finished the work on the day they promised it would be done. Customer for Life! read more

We needed some tires changed on a bike and I was very happy with the speed of their service (took only a day), the woman who helped us get the bike out of the car and the quality of the tubes and tires they used. I thought the labor charge was very reasonable. It save me an hour and a half worth of dirty work removing the front and back tires and putting on new tubes and tires. It's the best bike shop I've been in in quite a while. read more

Went there because we try to frequent locally owned business, to buy a Christmas gift for our son( a bike for $200 not a special order) . Unfortunately his grandparents bought the same thing and gave it to him before Christmas . I figured no problem I will simply call the store and explain the situation, (I only bought the bike 48 hours ago) and I can get my money back . The owner told me no way ,it says no returns on your receipt. To which I respond "no it does not". She then tells me there is a sign somewhere near the register but she is not sure where. She tells me "they have had this problem before and they just deal with it." Bottom line , no customer should have to "deal with it ". I say a big NO to The bike shop. read more

I purchased a rear-view mirror from the shop. The clerk told me that the merchandise was exchangeable, but not refundable. I found the mirror did not work on my bike and they didn't have any other options that worked for me, so I called and asked if they would make an exception to their policy. I had just purchased the item a few hours earlier, I was visiting the area on vacation, and I had no other bike accessory needs at this time so I didn't want to hold the shop credit. The owner Steve said he would do it, but was quite nasty and condescending. I said, "I don't appreciate how you are handling this." He said, "Keep the mirror" and hung up on me. So I made the mistake and came here to have my sons tire replaced. First they installed the tire and told me it couldn't be done with our a new tube also. Picked it up and day later the chain snapped another repair charge. Then two days later the chain guide snapped another repair charge when I complained the repair person told me it was a cheap bike and the owner chimed in telling me they're in business for years and didn't appreciate my attitude . I've been to Beyond Bikes in Stuart three times since fabulous store honest repair work pleasant service and once made a minor repair free of charge. read more

i had the privilege of using The Bike Shop while on vacation in Stuart. I had my bike shipped to them. They expertly reassembled it and gave it a proper check. They then rented my wife a bike, but only after making sure it was the right fit and that she was comfortable with the fit. Textbook customer service !!!!!!!!! When it was time to send my bike home, there was a slight mishap. NO WORRIES, they promptly made it right. I can not recommend these professionals enough. I will use them again next year without a doubt. read more

On a Wednesday, I dropped off my bike to have them check the front tire, because I was having to pump it up every couple of weeks, and to also give it a tune up. Steve, the owner, said that you have to pump up every once in a while when not using it often. I asked, then why did the back tire go flat? He is such an idiot. I should have walked out with the bike right then and there. I asked if it would be ready by the following Tuesday because I was going out of town with it. They said definitely it would be. I called the following Monday morning to see if it was ready and they said they have not looked at it yet. I reminded them I needed it by Tuesday. Thirty minutes later they called me to say it's ready. I was skeptical that they even did anything. I asked about the tire and how can I be sure the air won't leak out again. Steve said "It's fixed". I suggested maybe I should leave it there overnight to make sure. Thinking about that suggestion was pretty silly considering they said it was fixed. However, my friend had to pick it up for me that day so leaving it overnight was not an option after all. Why should it be? They claimed they fixed it. Two days later while I am out of town with my bicycle, went to use it, and the tire was flat. I called and spoke to Susanna. She asked ME what THEY did. I thought she was talking to her husband Steve because I would think THEY know what THEY did. But she was actually asking me! I stated "How the heck should I know what you did"? I said good bye. Steve calls me right back and says, "Didn't we discuss you leaving it here overnight to make sure the tire is fixed"? I said, "Didn't WE? It was ME that suggested it and why in the world would that even have been necessary in the first place if you supposedly fixed the tire"? I ended up having to buy a new tire and putting it on elsewhere. When I went back to ask for a refund, they refused and asked me to leave the store. Very disappointed in my last visit. I had previously been to this shop and wrote a positive review based on my experience with Dave. He is no longer there and based on my experience with the owner and his wife I can see why. Quite honestly they are rude. Very disappointed by their customer service. I purchased a second bike from this store after my husband's bike was stolen. After repeatedly discussing in every phone contact with both owners the bike seat I would like to have installed on the bike, they delivered the bike with the wrong seat. I specifically made a point of mentioning the bike seat in each and every encounter. When I called to express how disappointed I was that the wrong seat was delivered, they were defensive in their response and were attempting to justify why they installed the wrong seat. They were not willing to do anything to correct the error other than a solution that inconvenienced me, the customer. Their manner of communication is abrasive and once they sell you a product they are not interested at all in your satisfaction. They should consider a quality improvement initiative in their business that focuses on improving customer service. That's provided they would even care about their customers. read more
