Unfortunately my old coffee and bakery photos are historical - this is no longer a bike shop and cafe, and just a bike shop. I really hope they bring it back, being able to hop off the bike trail quick for an amazing cafe snack was a delight. BUT for $180 ($120 + $60 in parts) this bike shop did what most could not - get my poor bike to shift properly without chain rub! I have a mix of parts on my bike, kind of a hobroken configuration and every bike shop for a decade now would charge me to do their best and it still wouldn't work right. These guys figured it out! The bike shifts great, it's silent now. Very happy with it. They also discussed technical things like cadence and wattage with me, neither of which I know anything about but I'm sure they're part of understanding bicycles real good. read more

From the moment you walk in your greeted and people make you feel welcomed and take care of you immediately. It was very simple and straightforward, and there was no pushiness or upselling. At one time, I thought this was a decent bike shop. Wrong! I recently brought my bike in for a tune up and after having the bike for a week, they finally called to say it was ready. They aren't THAT busy. Most times that I had gone in there, the mechanics were doing more socializing than wrenching. I took my bike out for the first time today, since picking it up. 1. My computer sensor had been moved on my spoke. Mark the location if you are going to mess with it. 2. My back brake wasn't adjusted right and I had less than 30% braking capacity. I know- I can adjust it with the barrel adjuster, but it had JUST been "tuned." 3. My rear derailleur isn't shifting correctly. I am getting missed shifts and ghost shifts. Come on guys! 4. Seven miles into my ride, my front derailleur cable broke. Don't they check shift and brake cables on a tune up? It must have already been a bit frayed, as some of the braids show rust. Yes, I know - I should periodically check my cables. But, again, "tune up." read more

Sorry for repeat....realized I was signed in on a different account... I bought a cruiser about 3 years ago and it came with a free tuneup. I called after owning the bike for 16 months and was rudely told that I needed to have the tuneup done in first 12 months. I spent $600 between the bike and gear. I took a mental note to never come back. Well today I had to return. I needed a lock for a new bike I just bought. My old one was stolen. I asked the guy where the locks were and he showed me. I wanted this lock that had Velcro straps to mount the lock to the frame. I asked if he would put it on fir me and I kid you not his response was 'if you will pay me'!! Not a tool needed fir this product and I was half kidding with my comment. Anyways, I bee lined for the door. If you ain't a spandexed out hipster you are ostracized at this place. No joke. 2 awful experiences. I love to support my local community but in this case I'll gladly save $40 by patronizing Amazon. read more

This place was close by to where I was so I decided to stop in and get some work in. It's not really my style of place as I love the warm and cozy coffee shop style places. I needed to get some work done, so I grabbed a spot right in the front of the shop. It was pretty empty the entire time that I was there which I always really enjoy, lol. I ordered an Almond Joy Latte which I personally didn't love. I should have known as I'm not a big "chocolate" person. I also ordered a Blueberry Muffin which was divine after a long day. I've never had service done here. However, I have had my bike serviced by one of the mechanics and by the owner (when they both worked at another shop) and they did a great job. Everyone who works here is capable, experienced, and knowledgeable. The owner has been working with, racing, and advocating for bikes and cyclists in the Tampa Bay area for a LONG time. This shop is his dream, and honestly once I walked in I saw that it was my dream shop too! The space itself is amazing: thoughtful layout, wonderful decor. The products being sold have been carefully chosen. There's a curated collection of vintage bikes on display and the owner also restores vintage bikes to be sold. Moots is the custom built brand he has chosen to sell: titanium bikes built to order in Colorado. This is a full service bike shop, and they work on all bikes. A tune-up is $75. Here's the super awesome part: the bikery is also a coffeehouse! You can get amazing coffee, pastries, sandwiches, and in the very near future...draft beer! The lines are already run. So stop by, it's convenient to DTSP and probably no more than 35 minutes from Tampa proper. There's no place else like The Bikery...I hope you love it too! read more

I've been training for a bikepacking trip and discovered The Bikery in these months. Along with selling important things for cycling, they are also a coffee shop. It's a perfect place to take a rest during a long bike ride. I can get water, use their bathroom, and get an espresso in the same pit stop. Who knew the aroma of coffee beans and bike rubber would work so well? What I originally thought of as a hokey idea for a hybrid business has quickly become my go-to spot to grab coffee on the way to work. The cold brew, nitro and hot drinks are all fantastic and the owner's deep love for serving coffee shows. Prices average standard pricing for local coffee shops with $4-5 for small/large cold brews and a bit north of $5 for nitros. The coffee bar also recently added taps for beer and, on last visit, had Coppertail's Free Dive and Motorwork's V-Twin as some of the highlights. I personally have never utilized the bike repair or purchase side of the business, but have friends who have spoken highly on the professionalism, price and advice given of the repairmen. read more
