Trek bikes in Seminole is the best. We lost our bikes in Hurricane Helene and Anthony Scott at Trek Seminole helped us out. They were able to rebuild my husband's bike and Anthony fitted me for a new Verve. I loved my old bike(s) but this one is even better. My husband gifted me my first Trek bike ever. I arrived to pick it up yesterday evening. Being a novice in the world of cycling, I was REFRESHINGLY greeted with an extremely warm, engaged and knowledgeable staff. Anthony (there was also an incredibly kind female staff member who helped me but I didn't catch her name!) greeted me and walked me through the basics of the bike; taking time out of what he was previously doing to offer help and adjustments to the bike if I had wanted. Jonathan (and Sean) took me under his wing to give a step by step explanation of ideas on how to enhance my riding experience - even later showing me how to disassemble the bike and safely load it in my car. Each staff member was friendly and approachable. *I had previously visited a DIFFERENT bike store looking for help and was met with quite the opposite attitude and approach to customer service. So the experience at Trek Bicycle Seminole allowed me to again be excited to ride and dive into the cycling world. Edit: Trek (Allen) reached out to me based on the below review and asked what they could do for me to help counter any negative experiences I had. They comped me two days of rental and made sure my rig was correctly dialed in, specifically, the camber and toe-in adjustments. I had an amazing experience and it fulfilled the promise of a Dumont Catrike ride. Here's another star, thanks so much! Please note that the chain did jump the highest gear (smallest rear cog) and got bound up on the frame twice so I avoided that throughout the ride. I still think the stop isn't dialed in as much as it should be. Original post: My wife and I came in looking for a fat bike to replace a stolen one and we were talking to Donovan. I don't know how much he knows about bikes but he has top tier customer service skills. I can be sold on that. The Dumont trikes happen to catch my eye. I'm down for adventure and love the idea of a long distance trek using one of those. Decided to rent one from them for a few days to try it out. When I came in to rent it I was asked if I had filled out the rental form online. I'm not a fan of this as I'm not sure which one I should get, what's the best size me me, etc. so I usually want to talk to the professionals to get me on the right rig. He said that he can't help me unless I fill out the online form and I said that I didn't know which one to get so he sort of helped me go through it on my phone (albeit reluctantly). I finished the online order so they started getting my trike together. At this point they were so rushed and throwing everything together without any real care or concern. The first rig chain kept jumping the rear cogset because of improper tension so after a few false starts on the trail they started getting a new rig together. The new one had only two false starts as the boom's lateral movement was a bit sketch so they had to really cinch it down. I watched about 200 hours of YouTube videos reviewing Dumont and by all accounts the brand and manufacturer is top tier. I know the jankiness of the bike was due to the build and improper adjustments, not the manufacturer. 1. Neg- the toe in and camber was off making the rig swing side to side under torque. I checked the manual and verified the measurements, the specs are out (build issue) 2. Pos-Relatively stable on higher speed downhill despite improper specs 3. Neg-No storage for even basic stuff. I have an iPhone, my wallet, and two extra water bottles. Had to Jerry rig my camleback to the back of the seat. Watch out for this otherwise you'll have everything on your lap. Which isn't as bad as you would think :-) 4. Neg-The stops are out of spec so I couldn't use the highest gear for fear of rear derailleur throwing and binding up the chain on the frame. Front derailleur stop is also out so had to really pull full on gear lever to get the chain on the highest gear 5. Pos-Tire pressures were good and consistent 6. Neg-rig consistently pulled to the right, which I assume was related to the toe-in and camber not being correctly set. 7. Pos. - gave me bottled water and I feel tried hard to make my situation right but it was obvious their patience was running out for me. 8. Neg-their check in procedure consisted of asking me how the ride was and bidding me farewell. I'm a paperwork sort of guy as want to make sure they got their rig back and documentation showing that I returned it. You know who didn't know how to help me on that point but Donovan got me effortlessly squared away. There is one more point to make; from a summation standpoint. Because of all the issues, I had a chance to stand around and really see how they were treating customers. At one point I heard someone say, "don't worry about the phones, we are taking care of our customers here." But what if I was a customer calling in? Stuff like this tells me everything I need to know about what my customer service is going to be like if I make a major purchase there. read more

The service used to be excellent but it has died in the last 3-4 months. I took my bike in, they kept it for a week and did nothing. I took my bike back so I could keep riding and they said they would call me to get it back in service rotation. After 2 weeks they had still never called. I'll find somewhere better! read more

You aren't going to find a nicer, more helpful bike shop in the st Pete area. They are great here, from the sales department to the Techs!!

I was out biking on the pinellas trail and pulled off to the side to take a quick break before I was going to turn back around and a girl asked if I was alright and when I told her I was just taking a break she said the bike shop was just up the trail if I needed a cold drink. I went in and the shop is huge and so well stocked and everyone was really nice. Thanks for helping me out when I was hot and dehydrated! I'll definitely be back in to shop because you guys have some great inventory! read more

Went looking to test ride recumbent bikes. This is one of the bigger recumbent dealers around, but of course they carry "regular" bikes aplenty. Lots of bikes to test ride, though one particular recumbent I wanted to try was not in stock. Nice thing about this place is the back door opens onto the Pinellas Trail... the staff will spend plenty of time with you, and let you take test rides on the trail, trying several bikes. I was limited in time so I didn't ride too far, but it seems like they encourage you to ride each bike a serious distance. Nice store doggy there too. read more

GREAT bike shop. What else is there to say? They carry quality products, are knowledgeable and very friendly. I was upfront and honest about not being able to buy anything at the moment, but I was curious about a few things that they carry (only shop in the area to carry certain things). Needed to get the bikes fixed up as they had been sitting outside for a while in this relentless Florida heat. Called several places, and this was the only place willing to take the bikes that day. Upon arriving, they took the bikes into the back for me and helped me settle on the cheapest and most efficient way to get my bikes up and running again. Everyone there was very kind. The store looked stocked with ample bike equipment, and it looked like they even had a bike-friendly healthy cafe thingy in the back. The bikes were done super quickly, and was very cheap considering the shape they were in. The staff even helped me out to the car with the bikes. I will be going back, despite being a little bit of a drive, I've never gotten such a friendly vibe from a bike place such as the service I got here. read more

This place is a rip-off. I took my bike in to have my handle bars raised because of a shoulder problem. I spoke to two gentlemen who gave me a price of $150.00. I said OK and they immediately told me it could take a while because they were really busy. They also told me they would call to give me an update as to when the bike would be ready. No calls. After 3 weeks I called 4 times. They said it will be ready tomorrow, it's on the rack etc and etc and etc. Each time they kept saying they were busy. We'll have it for you tomorrow. Woops, I smell a rat and a "DIRTY DEAL". Finally I called and asked if the bike was finished. They had to check on it, the computer couldn't find me. A young lady called me back and asked what she was supposed to repair on the bike because she couldn't understand the work order. I explained what was to be done to the bike. Then luckily, I asked her how much it would cost. When she said around $300.00 I stated the estimate was originally $150.00. Then she stated with what I needed etc and gave me more excuses. I said I'll be there in 15 minutes to get my bike. So, I would never recommend this bike shop to anyone. It's a BAD DEAL...don't take your bike there. I took my bike to another shop in the area. I got what I want and had my bike back on the road in 2 days at a cost of $114. Get the message?????? read more

It was a typical sunny Florida day when I walked into the store which is conveniently located right on Pinellas County Trail. I was greeted by Adam. I have been shopping bikes for a few weeks, so I knew what I wanted. When I showed him the bicycle I was considering purchasing, he responded, "You know, that bike goes on sale in 2 days." Well, actually, NO....I had just left another bicycle store that was going to be having the same sale (another authorized Trek dealer), and they neglected to pass on this information. Needless-to-say I was very comfortable with Adam and Bicycle Outfitters right off the bat. We talked shop for a bit. He was educating me on some of the new models and technology that Trek had to offer, and before I knew it, he had me taking a test drive on the bicycle that I was interested in. When I got back I was introduced to the many helpful and knowledgable mechanics on staff. They give me that warm-and-fuzzy feeling that should my bicycle need any maintenance, it will be in great hands. Long story short, I walked out a customer. The guys at Bicycle Outfitters took the time to make sure I was well informed of my purchase before making it, and I couldn't be happier. You'll feel the same I'm sure, because they treated everyone that walked through their doors just the same as me. I look forward to doing repeat business. If you are considering, buying a bike, renting a bike, getting bike maintenance done, or getting some bike accessories, I strongly suggest that you stop into Bicycle Outfitters. While in Florida I needed to rent a recumbent trike-too crazy to ship mine from Boston.They gave me a very fair price for a month's rental considering it was high season.The bike was in excellent tune and the people I spoke with were courteous and knowledgeable.I just read the newspaper article about the shop owner assisting amputees to ride trikes on the trail.That's a great thing.Good karma coming! read more

Brought in bike for a quick tuneup. Initially they said they were busy and it would be a few days. When I told them I couldn't wait, they agreed to do a 'quick check' and spent about 10 minutes on it. The cost was $39.99 (labor only.) Recently Adam and Richard worked with me regarding a tube purchased from Bicycle Outfitters. Initially apprehensive because of the nature of warranty issues with tubes and tires, my first thought was, just give them a chance to use there expertise and come up with a recommendation.
