While shopping found my way to the second floor to the new Macy's Backstage area and was able to get a pretty good discount, after all this is going to be a gift. I had never heard of Macy's Backsage and the girl that rang up my purchase said "Macy's Backstage, it's an "off-price" (aka discount) concept that sells clothes, housewares, shoes, cosmetics, and other goods at discount prices." Being that Macy's at the Fall's Mall always looks like it's two clicks from going out of business, it seems they are doing the right thing in trying to find or redefine themselves in the South Miami are. In this day and age, good manners can be hard to come by, so I was extremely impressed with the employees. In particular, Sophie and Claudia stood out. Unfortunately, one of the balloons slipped from my hand and floated straight up to the ceiling. Without hesitation, these two young ladies insisted on getting a ladder to retrieve it and they were successful! They truly went above and beyond. Not only were they incredibly helpful, but they were also pleasant and genuinely interested, even asking about the celebration. I hope their manager reads this. The best part, there is poor reception in this particular location so you are distraction free as you peruse the aisles for your next decor find. This location has furniture, and there is always a good mix. If you purchase something large, they have a friendly carry out team that can help you load your car - and I realized they offer delivery, too!
