This incarnation of the Bird Cage Theatre is a museum. The gift shop in the front contains a lot of cool items and the host gives a great introduction on the mic that covers the corporeal and ghostly history of the building. Many emotionally turbulent events took place in this historic structure. A sliver of Fred White's soul is tied to the dirt outside this building where he was gunned down by Curly Bill Brocious. The ghost of a working girl, Margarita, lurks in the corner waiting for her lost love. Lady Matilda could hear Margarita's heartbeat and tasted copper on her tongue as she passed through the museum. The site is ripe with PK energies lifted from the collection of relics and exhibits behind the pay wall. It gave Lady Matilda a headache so we were unable to stay long. Still, this is a must-see location if you want the least tourist-focused history of the town.

Horrible host. No bathroom, more than bored for an hour and ridiculously cheesy. Place hadn't seen a dust cloth since it opened. It was interesting enough the building, but the hostess just wanted to go home and you could tell by her attitude. Steer clear!

We had to come see the famous Bird Cage. We stopped inside and listened to a docent talking about some of the history of the building. We chose to take the museum tour and it goes back behind the divider. There are a couple of sections to it and lots to photograph. The. You exit through the giftshop. The employee was very nice and told us about some of his encounters working there. I didn't do the ghost tour but my friend did before and liked it.

It's like walking over a 150 years into the past. The 14 birdcage cribs 7 on eachad that is where the soil dubs detained angels and the falling ladies-of-the-night applied their trade in the birdcage theater. It was gambling that's all theater hand painted.Stage front and back stage is all original as it was over a 150 years ago. It's like walking back into time.Everything is original. The birdcage theater has a original seven bullet holes what is in the front bar on the far?Hand side is a bullet hole and still if you can get a light you can actually look into and see the bullet hole it's worth your family package deal. The region I know about the bird cage theater.I used to work for them.Enjoyed miss paula and papa bill RIP

It was a top favorite historical place we visited. There is so much to look at and read about. Turned a ten minute stop into a hour long history lesson. Definitely take the time to enjoy this place. Original bar and holes shot in the walls. I took lots of pictures and bought some books.

Place is amazing! Steeped in history! A little creepy but fascinating! Worth the price of admission.

Everything in the self guided tour was amazing! Hope you can see this in real life if you plan on coming.

Wow! If your visiting tombstone this is a must to stop by. The only original building left! We went inside and they told us about the history. And we took the self guided tour. Which was even more interesting. The grand piano. The stage. Even where doc holiday was! Staff was amazing and they dressed up to fit the theme. This is definitely worth going to!

I have wanted to come check out the Birdcage Theatre since I saw it many many years ago as a teen on one of many ghost hunting shows, not only was I so interested in the history of this amazing building with seemingly endless stories of tragedy and passion in its many forms but also of course the lives and history of the people, men an women alike who spent their time in this establishment. We opted for the ghost hunting tour and were so lucky to end up being the only ones on the tour. We had to purchase a 3rd ticket so the tour would run and let me tell you it was absolutely worth it. Not only was our guide so kind and incredibly personable but she was so knowledgeable of the stories of some of the most well known people who still linger in the birdcage. Every inch of this place is riddled with stories-and bulletholes. After our incredibly informative guided tour we sat in the main room behind the stage with some ghost hunting equipment and the lights were all turned out. The energy at no point was negative, the flashlights were the most active part of the session, with some intermittent attention from the k2 meters on the table in front of us and the rem pod set up by the stairs chiming to get our attention a few times. Though the patrons and performers may not be in our same plane anymore they certainly still enjoy entertainment! After our guide had told us a story earlier in the night of them wanting to hear her sing,I decided to ask myself if they would like a song, it was so much fun to see the flashlights flickering and lighting up as I sang. I wouldnt miss the ghost tour as it was a truly special experience and was the highlight of our trip to the area. I just hope I can find my way through to hop on one of the ghost tours again!

We had a great time visiting the historic Bird Cage Theatre. We loved watching Ghost Hunters back in the day, so it was a blast getting to finally see this theatre. The self-guided tour takes about 20-40 minutes depending on how much of the descriptions you want to fully read. No trip to Tombstone is complete without visiting the Bird Cage Theatre!

Despite how touristy Tombstone can be, the Bird Cage Theatre is worth the stop. It is one of the few original buildings that is still standing. It operated from 1881 to 1894 and was frequented by notable people like Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday. Bird Cage Theatre had performances nightly and held the longest poker game in history in the basement. One thing that is cool is that you can still see the bullets holes in the walls. There are lots of cool artifacts and old photos from Tombstone's history to see inside. They also have a haunted tour during after hours.

He has a…read morefamily connection to this place, but although maybe not objective, it was a good recommendation. If you bring your coffee cup from Cowboy Coffee you get a dollar off the normally six dollar admission price. However, even without a dollar discount, this stop is very worthwhile. There are Yelp complaints about a rude person who was collecting tickets, but we encountered a very hospitable woman, so maybe that guy is gone. There are three period rooms that are worth seeing, but I enjoyed the other displays even more. They have a lot of family artifacts from the gold rush error, including my favorite, an assay scale used to measure gold dust. It claims that it can measure the weight of a pencil mark on a piece of paper! Another interesting item is a check made out to the very not politically correct "last Chinaman in Deadwood." There are period guns, dresses, elaborate locks, and many other items that really are museum worthy. The namesake to the museum is the rose tree in the courtyard. Or more accurately, the rose tree and the court yard are synonymous, because it covers the entire court yard. It is supported on a giant trellis, and it was planted in 1895. It's enormous and it was in bloom. Honestly, this place is more interesting than it looks on its website. I recommend a visit when you are in Tombstone.

The staff who I believe were the owners, were fantastic! They were personable and knowledgeable and took great care in wrapping my delicate items (I purchased a fully articulated bird skeleton in a delicate glass case as well as a taxidermied furry bat) as well as some odds and ends, crystals, Buffalo teeth and some AMAZING buttons ! Marshall Applewhites "Beam me up"! Baaaahahahaha! Everything made it back to San Diego with no problem ! They also gave me a few free incense sticks and a tombstone sticker. I can tell that the owners absolutely love their store and one even commented that it was his dream to have this place. The energy is palpable and gratitude is genuine. I also appreciated hearing the gal very lovingly dispel stereotypes to a curious customer regarding voodoo/witchcraft and energy and spell work. The passion is noticeable. I encourage anyone to visit this store while you are in tombstone and see the cool museum in the back that is really neat! Support these folks ! Blessed be.
