I got my first tattoo at Black Lantern a few weeks ago and it was a really great experience! I admit I was a little nervous, but everyone was so reassuring and helped me feel very relaxed. The shop itself is very clean, modern and comfortable. My tattoo artist was Jon Marquez and it didn't take him very long to complete the tattoo on my left arm. It was designed by a family friend and he made sure to stay true to the original. The fine lines were precise and very clean and I didn't experience any discomfort. Jon gave me precise details about how to care for it after it was completed and I have had no problems at all. It's cliche and redundant to say tattoos can be addicting but finding a place that can remove all the hassle and initial nerves of getting your first tattoo is hard to find. I got my first tattoo here, and could not have had a better experience. First off, the shop is clean and professional. During my appointment there was a comedy routine playing on the TV which kept things light. I was very nervous walking in, but the guys were welcoming and put me at ease. Having had zero experience with tattoos, Josh was able to walk me through everything, printing out multiple different fonts for me to choose from. I had come in with a basic idea of what I wanted but had no idea about specifics. He showed me several different versions until it was exactly right, and helped me with placement. My tattoo is small so it took maybe half an hour to finish, and it looks great. Even my mom, who is anti-tattoo, says she loves it. Thanks Josh! read more

This shop and group of people are so kind and professional it's ridiculous. I think people forget they are getting a fucking tattoo! Like this place is so nice, clean, and has a great location. You almost forget it's a tattoo shop. Like you're average tattoo shop is usually unfriendly and you get crap work. There's a reason these guys charge so much. It's because they are the best, period. A tattoo is something you get for life. I have been going to London my whole life. And just one time I went to another shop because it was cheaper. Big mistake!!! I plan on having what I got covered up. So everyone who wants cheap prices, go get your cheap tattoo. I understand we're not all rich, but tattoos are forever. If money is the main factor, you probably don't really respect the art of tattooing and sure as shit don't respect yourself. Work a couple extra shifts and save the money. Don't be fooled by the Karen's of this world. I don't just look at London as a tattoo artist, but a man I aspire to be like. If you knew him on a personal level and saw how far he has taken himself with his hard work and dedication,(also staying humble and kind while doing so) you'd probably have a different attitude. This is my favorite tattoo shop I've been to. I came here to see Sean Hall, who created a beautiful geometric/floral wrist band for me. The atmosphere is so nice-wide open, clean, and very welcoming with a really comfortable waiting area for clients. Sometimes there's music playing and sometimes you're watching a movie, which I think is genius. Nothing distracts from the pain like scrolling through Netflix and watching an awesome Marvel movie! The neighborhood is also really nice with a lot of food and drink. I had an awesome experience and I'll definitely be recommending and coming back. read more
