Super easy experience at The Blade Smith. The building was easy to find. It's Suite #1 right in the front. I was in and out in about 10 minutes. Great customer service from the front desk to the owner. He came out to talk and explain some info above knifes . Very reasonable pricing. I had 8 knives sharpened for $42. I took a handful of kitchen knives to The BladeSmith. They were five dollars apiece to sharpen. There is a sign on the front of the door that says to go around to the back if no one answers. That's what I did and it was not a problem. They finish sharpening the knives in about 10 minutes and they were very helpful and nice. I will definitely go back. read more

Difficult to locate using GPS or Google maps, but if you'll just look for the address as you drive down Northcrest, it's pretty easy. There's also a big sign out front for Northcrest 85 Business Park, and Bladesmith is in the first suite. I took a chance and just drove over on a Monday. Sign on the front door says that if no one answers the knock to go around back. So, after knocking on the front door and getting no response, I did the same at the back door. I could hear grinding, so I knew someone was there, but I had to time my knocks for quieter periods before they heard me. Super nice and took about 10 minutes for 7 knives. read more

After trying another sharpening service, I have returned to the Bladesmith...they just do the best professional job in the ATL area....I take my Shun, Global, Wusthoff, and Henckel knives to Cooks Warehouse and they come back with a razor sharp, durable edge...occasional honing keeps them sharp...it is really nice to have someone who does such a great job on expensive knives that I value! read more

I think the disconnect between those of us who are satisfied customers and those who are giving 1 stars has to do with expectations. They are simply the best in the Atlanta area. That is why Cook's Warehouse, and some other stores use them. However they are not a retail operation by any stretch of the imagination. They service a great deal of restaurants in Metro Atlanta. If you ever go to their shop you will see this is a serious blade (knives, scissors, other cutting instruments) sharpening operation. They will take in walk in traffic on Monday's only. This is their small concession to non-business customers. It is imperative that you call right before you leave to make sure they are there. Personally I don't like leaving my knives at a store and then going back to pick them up. So every year, right before the holidays, I do the cat and mouse figuring out which Monday they are for sure at their shop and I run up there, get them all sharpened and I am done. The place is in a warehouse district that in of itself takes a bit of patience to locate their shop. I am grateful that they even bother with walk ups. read more

Also happened to go on a Monday and had a great experience. Sharpened 12 knives in about 20 minutes. I think I met both the father and the son. Both were very pleasant and good to work with. In the future I will start at the back door since that seems to be where they are mainly at. It will be the only place I use for knife sharpening going forward. read more

Unprofessional. Nobody is here during their work hours, I even called ahead of time and left work early.

Great sharpening, fast. I took 8 knives over and sharpening was completed within 15 minutes. I had a variety of knives, including serrated ones. Based on other comments, I just went to the back door rather than going to the front. They are open M, Tues, Thurs and Friday according to the gentleman working. Went on Monday with 6 old knives. Factory sharp in 10 minutes. $5 a knife. Have to go on Monday. Best in Atlanta.

Called the guy, he doesn't ravel to my area, but he says he's in his main location on Mondays, tell him ill be there with all my knives the following Monday. I show up...nobody's there. Call the number and leave him a voice mail asking that he call back and let me know if he comes in so I can bring my knives to him Never got any response, much less an apology for wasting my time. This business is horrible! Totally disrespectful to their customers and completely rude on the phone, which goes unanswered for days at a time. It takes them weeks to get back to you while they hold your stuff hostage. I've never been so aggressively spoken down to like I was by the owner of this business (the father in this father-son partnership). How they run this business and how they behave while doing so are the very definition of "unprofessional." My sincerest advice: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THE BLADESMITH. read more

I've only had my knives sharpened by them once, but I'm not planning on going elsewhere. I dropped off a mix of Global, Shun, and no-name western knives at Cook's Warehouse in the morning. They were ready for pick-up that evening. The blades were smooth and seemed angled well. They're holding their edges well (with appropriate steel use). I called and left a message. Within 15 minutes a very pleasant person returned my call, providing me with direction to their location. I told the the person behind the desk that i would like to get 6 knives sharpened, expecting to hear that I could pick them up next week. She asked if I wanted to wait.
