I reached out to several companies back in May 2024 as I thought there was an issue that required window replacement, but it turned out I could fix it with caulk so I did not proceed with any quotes. My quote was done by Jeff. During my quote session, Jeff made several comments that I took as a misunderstanding of social cues, but I now know were not. Two months after my initial quote, I received a text message from Jeff's PERSONAL device. Prior to this, he had only communicated with me via a work device. This text from Jeff was disturbing, inappropriate, and concerning from a safety perspective. Jeff ABUSED his access to customer data to hit on a customer nearly HALF his age. I was hesitant to reach out to the company as I did not know these men (The owner, Mark, and Jeff) and feared retaliation; however, I did not want this to happen to another young woman so I left a review through the BBB. Mark reached out within a few hours expressing his apologies and disgust with Jeff's actions and assured me Jeff would be fired first thing Monday morning. I spent the weekend beefing up my home security system just in case. Come Monday, I hear nothing. Which was fine at first. Tuesday morning, I received an email stating that Jeff was not fired, that Jeff was a "good man", it would "be a loss for us to have to let him go", and asked for my forgiveness. Our definitions of what make a good man are vastly different. I also let Mark know that I would not be manipulated into offering my forgiveness for the sake of politeness or either of their consciences. After letting Mark know of my disappointment, I was told that Jeff never meant to send the text but "accidentally" pressed send while editing the text. This does not explain how Jeff got my phone number on his personal device in the first place. The argument they may use was "there was a discussion about his motorcycle while he was in your home and wanted to follow up on that conversation" but I invite whoever reads this to put themselves in my shoes. A man whom I do not know is in my home and is rambling about his hobby. He already inappropriately hugged me when he saw I owned power tools. Would you feel safe as a petite woman telling a strange man twice your age and twice your size "no, I do not care about your bike. Please leave"? I have already told all of my friends never to use this business due to the lack of ethics and a spine from the owner and its' employees. Your personal information is not protected and enlisting this business to do work to your home is only putting yourself, your wife, your daughters, and your family at risk. My intention here is not to get Jeff fired, but to notify my neighbors and fellow Cobb residents that this business is untrustworthy. His actions regarding this matter are well within his rights as owner and they show his backwards priorities, lack of character, and bad morals. But it is also within my right to protect other women and homeowners in the Cobb area from people like this.

I have used Atlanta Area Window & Door 2 times for front door installation at two different…read moreproperty locations. The first time, I'd give them a 5 star. But the second time, I'm giving them a 3 star. I don't have much to say about the first experience since I thought that they did a great job that I hired them for the second job. However, the second job was riddled with issues and heartache. I shopped for quotes from different companies and I awarded the job to Mark and his team. The reason I award the job to Mark is not due to the price but due to the thoughtful and experienced comments he made and when he addressed my questions. I thought that this guy was someone who care and was not in the job just for the money. However, Mark is not the one that actually does the door install. He had a different team install the door and that would be fine as long as there were no issues with the door install. But there were issues. The installation team are great people - someone you could grab a beer with and chat. But they lacked the problem solving and attitude of someone who owned their own business. Issue #1: After the door was installed, the door did not close well. I had to push extra hard to get the door to shut. I asked the installer if there is something he can do to fix that. He did what he can on installation day (took an entire day to install and they worked past 5pm) and had to come back on a different day. On the second day, they made some changes to the door sweep. This made the door close better. However, this created an issue with a gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. While walking outside at night, I saw streams of light shining from under the front door. This allowed insects to enter my house. I brought this to Mark's attention and asked him not to send the same crew to fix the issue because the installation guy had already told me that he did everything he can. Mark was able to ask another guy to come and fix the issue. The new guy showed up and fixed the issue within 30 mins or less. This guy owned his own door installation business and does the door install himself. During the whole ordeal, Mark showed up on day one to supervise and ensure everything was on track but he did not attempt to remedy the work himself. Issue #2: I paid the original door installers $xx (i forgot the amount) in cash to install a nest doorbell. The doorbell was installed but did not work because a transformer was required and they do not install transformers. I had to pay a separate guy to install the transformer. In hindsight, I would should have paid a separate guy to install doorbell who can also install a transformer if needed. This was probably my fault but I felt like I paid for something that didn't solve my problem. Issue #3: 1-2 months after the door was installed, i noticed that pads at the foot of the door had ripped. I asked Mark to fix and his response was that he would send some pads in the mail for me to fix myself. It's been a month and I haven't seen any pads in my mailbox. I paid almost $6K for doorframe and door (which i still have to paint myself). For this amount of money I was expecting a better streamlined, worry-free experience.

Further, during James' last visit, he noted that I had been cleaning/operating the door properly. This hasn't been caused my any user errors. IMO, this has been an unacceptable experience and Centor and The Window Store need to correct the issues so this can all be resolved. Dear Reader, Our experience with Nelson Exteriors was outstanding. Their references were great, but it's really their commitment to exceptional service and execution of agreed upon plans that differentiates them from - quite frankly - all others. From the jump, Jake Mifsud, our sales contact, was courteous, on time, inquisitive about what was most important to us and worked through both scheduling and project budgeting in a very timely fashion. He's positive, responsive and followed up at the end of our remodeling to ensure we were satisfied! Once contracted and turned over to the Nelson project team, Lindsey Trice coordinated our schedule and it was miraculous. One team would finish their work and 30 minutes later the next team showed up. Brilliant! Jeff Van Bever was our project manager. Boy, is he thorough and committed to excellence. We knew we were in capable hands from our very first walk through with Jeff. Given his extensive experience in construction, Jeff spied issues he knew we would need to address citing most to least important along the way. This gave us opportunities to evaluate change orders and what we wanted to fix versus what we could live with. When making a change, Jeff ensured we had the change requirements and costs within 24 (or less) hours. We found change order prices to be very reasonable. He lead a series of terrific teams beginning with construction. We replaced all of our front siding and most of our rear necessitating expert skills. Gustavo, "Cheppe" - aka Juan - and Josh were amazing. So fast and accurate, they completed their part of the renovations in what seemed like a moment. It's worth saying that they always cleaned up after themselves - a priority of ours given bad experiences with other companies. Next up was the painting crew. 5 professionals led by Gonzalo painted the whole house and deck. We installed a new front door and both their exterior paint job and interior - like the rest of the house's painting - looked great. Really appreciated that they, like the construction team, were fast and efficient. When doing the final walk thru with Jeff and Gonzalo we only noted 5 spots that needed further attention. All were immediately done and the painting looks great. The house's jewelry, also known as leaf guard gutters, were capably set in place by Oscar and Bartolo. Arriving at noon (following Gonzalo and team's departure at 11:30am), they set in place a whole wrap-around series of gutters (extensive work) by 7:30pm. I couldn't believe it, but they were done. Again Jeff checked in to make certain their work was completed as stated and that we were pleased. They're beautiful and lend a graceful finishing touch. Nelson Exteriors works with like-minded companies to undertake certain tasks. In our instance, we worked directly with a company they referred - Window Traditions in Johns Creek. Clay Godfree, their sales manager, Chris, their project manager and their crew Mikaill and Welisson were as performance and customer service oriented as the team at Nelson. So glad to have that reference. My only wish is that Nelson Exteriors did interiors. I'd hire them in a nano second! Our experience with Nelson Exteriors was simply best-in-class. On time, on budget, led with confidence by people who know what they are doing. We, no doubt, will hire them again as roofing and underdeck projects surface.
