I've coming here for a long time, but every year that goes by the service and coffee gets worse. The cashiers are surly at best, no smiles, no greeting, I actually want to leave. This last time I ordered a signature drink, I dont know if it was made wrong, but it tasted horrible, I could taste the grounds. So, I asked for a new drink. No apology for making a terrible drink, just charged me for a new one and literally told me it was my fault for ordering something bad. Customer service has become terrible, not worth the stop anymore when I'm back in town. There are better options. Seriously, how hard would that have been to fix the situation and offer a refund or not charge me for a new drink. read more

Review Visit: October 28th, 2014 The Blend is... A nice combination of upscale, cozy, delicious and comforting. Offering a nice selection of coffees and baked goods to choose from, you'll find something there that will tickle whatever it is you are craving. Everyone that I know that has been to The Blend loves it. I wouldn't say I love it, but I really do enjoying there for some reason. I can't quite put my finger on it, but the place just feels nice to be at. Between plenty of seating, free wifi, a large and varied coffee menu, board games (I think they still have them), it feels like a big chain place, but maintains that small town comfort. I have only had coffee here and wait... I usually try something new every time I go. I don't always love the new ones I pick but how could you not want Snickerdoodle coffee?! They offered quite some fun combinations of flavors for wild tasting coffees. Overall, a really nice and cozy coffee place. They have one of those 'stand alone' shacks also in Washington, so if you are in a rush, you can go there and stay in your car while getting some deliciousness in your belly. Definitely a recommended place if you love coffee and are in the Central Illinois area. read more

Have only used their small drive-through location across the street from the main location, but their Wake Up Call coffee is hands-down, the best coffee around! For commuters that only pass through Washington, it's out of the way and not on the main north/south highway but well worth the small detour for great coffee and friendly service. read more

Beautiful cozy cafe with the right atmosphere complete with private spaces, study nooks, and enjoyable staff serving up a wonderful blend, pun intended, of tasty looking dishes and quality brews. I had to do the house made pumpkin latte. Not even into autumn yet but for a second I thought I might make it there with an extra couple minutes it took them to craft up my drink. How spoiled am I used to typical cheap and chirpy fast pump action coffee spots? I rather got expectations up between chatting with a friend and assuming they had to pick a fresh pumpkin out back and bake it into syrup. Spoiled kid aside, totally worth the wait! Pumpkin and espresso made a festival drip to go while I noticed my dining in friend got the artistic work in a mug. I love the in house syrup! Not overly sweet like most factory plastic bottles stuff, plenty of happy pumpkin notes, put together in twenty ounces so tasty and enticing will have to get through Washington again soon. read more

The Blend has always been my favorite locally owned coffee shop for a long time. The coffee is always excellent, the staff courteous, and service top notch. The only reason I do not give a full five stars is the recent decision to implement serving guests only outside on the patio during the week after 6pm. There have been some very hot and humid days where this plainly eliminated any consideration for my business. I would rather get a Dunkin Donut or a Starbucks coffee through a drive-thru than sit on the patio on those scorcher evenings. Within the last year or so new local coffee entrepreneurs have opened shop and they are giving The Blend a run for their money in terms of great coffee and service. We hope The Blend is up to the challenge. read more

The prices here keep going way higher than what I consider any cup of coffee should cost. It now costs almost 10 dollars for a latte here ... I don't know if the owner is completely out of touch or just greedy. Each time I come here; a different kind of milk is out of stock, there's always a line, not enough tables, kids screaming, and dust EVERYWHERE. This small coffee shop is PHENOMENAL!! Not only is their coffee smooth and delicious, but the ambiance is awesome. I've been to the trailer location before, but today was the first time I went to the brick and mortar location. I was just kind of having an off day, and the young man behind the counter just killed me with kindness. He was friendly and helped my daughter pick out her Cremosa flavor. My coffee was delicious, as always. They have such unique crafted drinks. read more

Let me preface this review by saying that I did not try any coffee, tea, muffins, pastries, etc. I do not eat or drink anything except for beef and water. When I visited The Blend, I bought a few bottles of water. This review does not take into account the quality of their coffee or food whatsoever. The Good: - The WiFi is free and fairly quick. - The booths are comfortable and clean. - The baristas are friendly and good at their job. - The music is soft and creates a peaceful environment. - The bottled water is reasonably priced, a fair markup for resale. The Bad: - They keep the place a few degrees colder than what is comfortable. It's probably nice in the summer, but much less so in early November. Bring a sweater. - If you are paying by credit card, there is a $3 minimum purchase. Initially, I ordered two Dasani's. When I was informed of the minimum purchase, I ordered a third. However, imposing a minimum purchase violates the merchant agreements they made with the credit card company. It's really not that big of a deal, chances are you won't have any problems spending at least 3 bucks, but I'm still not a big fan of the practice. - The bathroom is not located in the shop, but outside the shop and down the hall. It is, however, clean. Overall, it's a fine little shop. Bring your laptop and relax for an hour or two. You won't be disappointed, but you won't be wowed either. read more

Six or so years ago I would have picked their coffee over literally anyone else's. It was amazing. The same roaster at that time also supplied Kade's Coffee, which stuck around for a few years near Barnes & Noble in Peoria (think 2009 or so). The coffee then was amazing. That's when I lived near Washington and could patronize their cafe fairly regularly. I was in town recently and treated myself to a pound of their whole-bean Snickerdoodle for $14. Six years ago it was worth every penny. This time around it was nothing special. The beans were very dry and tasted like any mid-level bean you could by at a grocery store for about half the cost. When I grind them I get this weird chaff that doesn't happen when I buy beans from anywhere else, mid-level or high quality beans. I also can't say I'm pleased with the decor changes they've made. I used to feel comfortable when I walked in - now I feel like I'm in an expensive living room in a model home. It just feels pricey and awkward. They peaked at around 2010 in my eyes. Sad! read more

Came here a year ago when I first started getting into decent coffee. I don't remember much of the coffee, but I do remember it being decent. I also remember the barista heating my French pressed coffee using a steam wand, which I would've knocked off at the time. I came in again today to give it another shot. Their coffees and coffee merch seemed to expand since the last time I got here. I was very impressed. This time, I got a cappuccino, and it was surprisingly very good. The ambiance is great and the baristas are very friendly. I ended up getting a 16 oz bag of Tanzanian peaberry, which I'm excited to try. For a pound of quality, locally/recently roasted coffee, at $13, it was cheaper than several other of its competitors. I also got a muffin and a peppermint tea, both of which were tasty. It's probably the most welcoming cafe in central IL and probably my new favorite place to study. It's a shame it's a bit far from Bradley, but I will definitely make the trek once in a while to get some stuff done. Keep it real, The Blend. read more

WOW! I was impressed! This cafe makes coffee and chai better than starbucks and caribou. The cafe is adorable. I did not try their baked goods, I will when I go back in August because they looked fantastic. I will update the review when I do. The service was exceptionally friendly and prompt. This would be a very successful chain. Its hands down better than any of the coffee shops I have been to in Northern VA. I would LOVE to see one here in VA. YUM! read more

I stopped in here to try their breve. It was good!! I was very pleased. Aaron got a chai latte and it was good, but not the best I've ever had.This place also has a wide selection of other drinks that looked delicious such as an Andes Dark Mint Mocha-yum!! I will definitely be back to try something else! The only negative I give this place was that they served their drinks in a styrofoam cup..that's not good for the environment guys..however I don't know much about the financial difference between styrofoam cups and paper cups. Maybe it's a lot cheaper and saves them money in the long run. Still...let's try to think of our impact on mother nature. All in all, I will be back. read more

One of my favorite things to do while visiting is to try new coffee shops. I don't support Starbucks anymore due to moral convictions, so local coffeehouses are a must for me. The Blend is about the only coffee shop in Washington, and it's a great option. The coffee is smooth, but packs a punch. Thankfully they use Monin and Ghiradelli syrups...usually if a coffeehouse uses Torani, you can expect mediocre coffee. I got a medium "White Out" with two pumps of syrup. It was very good with just the right amount of sweetness. The Blend is a good coffee shop, not my absolute favorite in the area, but a good cup o' Joe nonetheless. There seems to be a good amount of seating and a decent selection of snacks and pastries. They also have non-coffee options like smoothies and Italian sodas. read more
