This is regarding the Boca Raton store on Palmetto Park Road not Palm Beach. Gardens made an appointment for blowout due to a medical illness. I was called to come in earlier, which I told him I could not. I was just walking out the door for my scheduled appointment when I got a phone call and I was told to come in later on and I told them I was cold earlier to come in earlier and now you're calling me to come in later I said, do me a favor to cancel my appointment. Remember, this is The Boca Raton location. I would not recommend them. They're unreliable. She told me I didn't know anything about that phone call earlier today I said well then you should talk to the girl who called me very unprofessional. read more

Extremely disappointed with the service here. The stylist was very unwelcoming and barely spoke 10 words to me the whole appointment. I'm not someone who needs an in-depth conversation, but the lack of communication made the appointment quite awkward. Her greeting to me was pointing at the chair and saying "here". Also, when I booked the appointment, I was told it would be an hour long, but it lasted only 25 minutes. I could have forgiven both of those things but the resulting blowout was not good. I got a 1:30 appt and told the receptionist it was for a 4:30 event; I was ensured that curls could last if I told the stylist. Long story short - the curls were all but completely gone after an hour or so. The picture attached is immediately following the appointment after walking to the car; to me, the curls appear sloppy even here. There were other minor things too - the stylist dried my hair with a towel she had dropped on the ground, she got conditioner in my eye during the wash - but mainly I was unsatisfied with the outcome and it did NOT feel like a luxury experience. read more

I went to the Blowzone for an updo and full makeup. I had used them for the same formal event last year and had wonderful results. This year was not the same, and I won't be back. The stylist I had last year was unavailable, so I booked with the stylist that the receptionist recommended for my updo and makeup. I took pictures of my dress and jewelry, and had pictures on my phone of the low bun with height (backcombing) on top and some soft tendrils around the face that I wanted. I even Googled updo for thin, medium-length hair so that I wouldn't be asking for something that my hair just wouldn't do. The pictures I came up with are the pretty typical formal event buns; something most stylists have done numerous times. Firstly, I was surprised that she washed my hair for an updo. In every salon I have ever been in, when backcombing and updo styling is the plan, they leave the hair as is. I'm not a stylist, but I think you achieve better backcombing and height when hair is not so clean and slick. Whatever, I thought, I'm not the expert. The first bun I received was nothing like the picture: tight, barely any tendrils around the face. I showed her the pictures again and said that I didn't feel like I had anything like what I asked for. She started over and it was acceptable; not what I asked for, but I didn't feel like we were going to get to the end product I wanted. Then we went to makeup. The same person who did my hair did my makeup. She asked if I wanted "natural." I said that I'm going to a black-tie event, so I want more than "natural." I explained that last year the stylist put on eyelashes, and I liked them. My eyeshadow was nice, but the eyeliner was really thick. Then she put on the lashes. I wear glasses and they don't have mirrors that magnify well, so when it was time to leave I paid my $200 dollars and headed home. When I got to my own makeup mirror with a light, I saw that both lashes were pulling up on the inside and I had a smudge of black. My eyes had watered earlier in the store when she was applying mascara; she couldn't find a tissue (what!?!); I had to pull a napkin out of my purse to stop the mascara from running. I called the salon to let them know that I needed the eyelashes/smudge fixed and they said they had a 5 minute window in 45 minutes. What!?! I just paid $200, and I have to work around their time for their mistake? What about my time? I said that to the receptionist and asked if this is good customer service; she found a 30 minute window I could come in. The lashes were fixed and eyeshadow corrected. I never received an apology for having to come back and lose valuable time from my day. Overall, I did not receive an enjoyable experience and was not happy with the results. Save your money. Go to a different salon. read more

Excellent!! I called last minute and the girl stayed to do a blow out! She was going to see her daughter's basketball game but squeezed me in. I forget her name but without much direction from me, she did a perfect blow out!! I have been here 3 times over past t years when I come into town. Totally recommend and I am very fussy!! read more

This is a cute place and obviously busy and there are certain stylists experienced with certain types of hair but reading the reviews it's a hit or miss experience and I'm wondering if some of the google reviews written by clients with only one review are personal friends. It's expensive but average cost for the area I suppose. The reception is courteous and organized and smooth operating. I however did not notice brushes being cleaned between clients or soaked in barbicide and the brushes were full of hair that wasn't mine. Granted this isn't the easiest job nor is my hair easy but my stylist although agreeing to my suggestions was unhappy and reluctant to. I take excellent care of my hair and because of this it's very healthy and I only like to frequent places that care about the health of my hair. Some Stylists obviously need more training here on the structure of hair or customer service. She insisted on brushing my wet hair because she said it was quicker when it's very damaging and a wide tooth comb should be used. Hey I know time is money but to build client repeat business you need to take care of clients hair. Also there wasn't really any consultation she rushed me back to shampoo without even wanting to evaluate my hair first which was up in a ponytail, her only concern was that I booked the right time. Is there a manager here? My blowout was mediocre but what ever I thanked her, tipped generous and give her props for working hard and I'm sure she's giving her best. Give your employees the tools they need to excel to avoid turnover and grow your business and perhaps your employees will be happier and so will all your clients. To me this place felt like a factory assembly line, not a pleasant experience. read more

This is my 3rd blowout place and the best by far. They were the only one to clip sections of my hair and blow out smaller sections instead of speedily grabbing hair. I would definitely recommend this place but remember to be specific with your instructions. Show a pic of what you like. read more

I will not be coming back here because I don't believe that this is a business that is transparent about their business practices, something which I don't respect and is inexcusable. I made an appointment for a braid on my birthday to test out this establishment to potentially use for my rehearsal dinner. When making the appointment I was told I need to show up with clean hair. I showed my stylist some looks I liked and she proceeded to curl my hair, pin it, and continuously redo one braid on the side several times as she grew frustrated and agitated. After finally getting the braid done I noticed it was thin, a concern I originally raised due to my own thin hair texture, which was brushed off. I didn't love the end result but I didn't hate it. However, upon checkout I was told that I was being charged for an updo, which was more than double the cost. Now granted, I admit I may have showed looks of French and Dutch braids that were updos but why would it not be communicated to me that I would be receiving a service that I did not originally book? Why did I come with clean hair then? Almost $80 for about 30-40 minutes of work because the stylist redid my braid 3-4 times after sighing nonstop and getting pissed off? Very uncomfortable and not worth it. I didn't cause a stink or say anything because it was my birthday and I didn't want to be late for dinner but I was very upset and disappointed. read more

Parking was a little difficult. It was a Friday afternoon. The inside was nice and clean. The girl who did my hair maybe spoke 5-10 words to me. I have hair extensions NBR ones. The girl washes my hair like I didn't have them in. I kept telling her pls b gentler. She then started to brush my hair. From the scalp out. Catching my extensions I kept saying pls be mindful. She then actually stopped brushing and continued to dry my hair. So I had a knotted dry mess. Also my extensions have some metal and she would leave the blow dryer on my hair and look away and my scalp was on fire. I kept pulling away. My hair came out flat and the curls were weird. She curled from the bottom. Kinda old school curls. Not my style. I'm In The process of moving back to palm beach gardens and choose this place Bc I was in a hotel and let's be honest those blow dryers take forever. I had a 4pm appt and was about 25 min early. I was willing to wait. They told me no need, we will get your stylist for you. Then out came Soeurette. She was happy to take me right away. She was very outgoing and personable. She shampooed and conditioned me with and amazing head massage. She was completed with my hair in about 30 min and let me tell you, it looks like a million bucks! I am so happy Soeurette did my hair and can't wait to come back! read more

PLEASE avoid if you don't want to be discriminated against. They are NOT SUITED FOR TEXTURED HAIR. I travelled to west palm for a family wedding last weekend. My brother from South Carolina, my mother from Chicago, and me and my partner from NYC. We all took my 4 year old niece to this blowzone for a blow out before the wedding. We expected to pay $30 for the kids blow out as listed on service menu. My niece has fine, long(about bra strap length) kinky curly hair (she's half black and half white). It took 2 women nearly 2 hours to complete the style. My niece was hysterically crying the entire time because the staff was roughly pulling hair while styling it. The staff offered her juice in order to distract her from the crying however I must admit they both seemed inexperienced with styling ethnic hair. My niece has had many-a-blow outs for trims and special occasions yet this job was subpar. Her hair came out frizzy and lifeless. When my mother and I went up to pay we presented a coupon, which I found at another store in the plaza that offered $25 for first time customers. The cashier told us they were unable to offer a discount although the coupon was valid because my niece's service took much longer than other customers' average appointment. She also explained that she needed to charge us an additional $5 for the extra time. We essentially paid the base price of $30 plus a $5 fine for the staff's substandard skills with working with black hair. Since this company charges for time rather than the flat rate for the service they should change their service menu. They should also hire stylists who are able to manage a multitude of hair textures. UPDATE: after reading this review the owner reached out to me to apologize and offered to refund the costs of the service. I was impressed with her genuine apology however, she later asked if I would take down my review since she gave the refund. Unfortunately, i do not feel that getting my money back has changed my niece's experience or can change the service at this salon. Therefore, my review remains intact. read more

Had an amazing blow out from Damaris. They have Oribe and R&Co products which is HUGE! I am so used to going to places with unknown low quality products, but they have the best of the best! Very courteous and attentive as well. I think they'd benefit from TV's , but it's not a huge deal to me, most people are on their phones any way. Hairstylist Grace is very good at this location. You have to try different stylists to know who you like, or ask queestions and really communicate to her what you want. Went for a blow out and requested that in my appointment (I specifically said I just want a standard blow out with the big brush that gives larger curls). The stylist tousled my hair dry with no brush - I kept waiting for her to take a round brush to it but she finally turned me around and she had just curled the hair with an iron and used so much product that the curls looked crunchy. My hair feels weighted down with all the product. When I told the stylist I had wanted a blow out, she said well you said you wanted curls. I had specially said I wanted the curls from a round brush look and all she said was "well that was a waste of time then, we could've been done a lot sooner." The front desk was just as unhelpful. My hair isn't horrendous and the salon is beautiful but i certainly didn't go to a "blow out bar" to get my hair tousled dry and curled with an iron. read more
