Like all shows, this one has seen a definite decline. I arrived early, I highly recommend this to beat the crowds. Parking was easy and straightforward. The staff friendlty and helpful. Variety was decent with a mix of some antiques, collectibles and some junk. If you are looking for furniture or other larger items, skip this show. There is far less furniture now than in years past. Very heavy on glass and china. Thin on unique items. Prices variable but dealers seemed flexible.

But my experience is that it's over-rated and misnamed. It's really a long string of flea markets. Most of the stops are either higher-priced items, specialty collector items, or picked-over items (you can get all the cheap glassware and worn-out pots you want here). I prefer real yard sales, where you can obtain good quality items, are dealing with the original owner, and are paying original prices, not ones marked up by each hand it's gone through. And the goal of the seller isn't to make a big profit -- it's to get rid of items and have relaxed conversations with their neighbors --- that's the real spirit of yard sales.

You might find rabbits, goats, cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, pigs, peacocks, and who knows what. Today they had duck eggs for sale by the dozen and that's the first time I have seen that! I bought a case of asparagus for $3.00, a case of tomatoes for $10.00, a huge bag (50)lbs of sweet onions for $20.00. I bought some miscellaneous items too. You just never know what you might find. It is so much fun and being out in the country without all of the junk in the air is good for your lungs which is also good for your heart. Bring a cart or a wagon, (if you're like me) and remember those neighbors and friends and family members when you see those great buys. I love sharing the big bags of fruits and vegetables.
