Wonderful day joining a lovely couple on their wonderful date in downtown Pensacola! I ordered the De Luna Burrito and the maple sea salt specialty coffee. Burrito was a killer portion! I'm good for the rest of the day being real. It was quite overwhelming walking into the bodacious atmosphere, there were buzzers to get your food, a separate area to pick up drinks, and an upstairs area that sold a ton of different items. I've dealt with these situations before though! I immediately walked to the counter, ordered the first thing I saw on the specialty menu and the burrito. My friend Kyle, local expert, knew that they had premier balcony seating prime for people watching. The sauce that came with the burrito was a little bland, but they stocked the table with Cholula, so we made it work. I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast, and the servers were super nice and accommodating by getting us extra silverware and cleaning up our table. Bodacious spot! I'd come again for sure read more

I always ordered salad in store but decided to try web order today. The salad was good as usual. However, I came to the store a few minutes after the pickup time and they still hadn't started making my salad. I also added a note when placing the web order indicating dressing on the side, but I received the salad with dressing being mixed. The web order should have saved my time waiting for preparing the food, but it didn't. The staff needs to pay more attention when making the web order. read more

Very nice ambiance and seems clean. The service was friendly but slow. The food was mediocre. I ordered the açaí bowl. It did not taste bad. It was not a quality one. The açaí was soupy not thick. The bananas and strawberries were sliced paper thin. And one thin layer of granola. It did not look like the one they have in their advertised picture. It was a pure ripoff. Very disappointing. Came into the store to check out the olive oils and vinegars. Both people staffing the shop were super nice and helpful. They asked if we were looking for something, then let us browse freely after we told them just that we were just checking it out. We decided to get an oil and vinegar. One of the guys working told me to try some of the flavored vinegar mixed with water as we were checking out. Never considered it, but it was a game changer. The Bodacious Olive is just that "BODACIOUS". This awesome little shop, not only contains all things olive oil, but all the things balsamic. Although the vinegars are secondary product, the kind of steal the show. You never really tried olive oil to you try the cilantro and roasted onion olive oil, it's mind blowing. With a little feta cheese and you are in the heavens. my friend that makes a super salad and that is what makes the Bodacious Olive, Bodacious! Just the flavored oils are the draw, But, Bodacious Olive has more, they have a small,gourmet counter, that sell's bread and pasta, and for those who can't wait, they have a professional grade kitchen, where I imagine the'll be doing cooking classes. I think that staff will be able to pull it off. One of my favorite cafes in Pensacola. They have wide selection of food but I almost always build my own wrap or order an acai bowl with almond butter. The portions are always the same. Sometimes, the wrap doesn't make it out with all of the ingredients I wanted, but that's okay because I've worked in the service industry and know that customizable orders get tough... especially during a rush. The cold brew is delicious and the staff is always very sweet. Sometimes the food does take a while, so I wouldn't recommend going there to eat if you're in a rush. This place has a nice youthful energy, and overall a good spot to read, study or meet a friend. read more

Unique find. We had coffee and a light snack at the cafe then shopped for olive oil and vinegar. We had grits which had no taste at all, sad. We also had an apple turnover which was amazing. I had read and heard about this place so while visiting the area decided to stop by only to find they were closing when already in the store bummer, seeing my disappointment was told "you can still take a look around it would take them a few minutes to close", Thank You. Super glad she did while quickly taking a look around was able to try three oils and four vinegars that seemed interesting. Almond oil and an Italian infused with herbs and spices + one. Balsamic vinegars are a plenty here some of those tried Dark Chocolate, Cinnamon Pear infused a Pomegranate Pear (?) and a Cherry infused. Balsamic vinegar is something that is an acquired taste at times and have found it to be overly used at most restaurants. This was a new experience as you poured samples into tiny cups and sipped from them Wow flavors were both rich and subtle at the same time, some sweet while others a bit more complex. I really wish more time could have been spent here and will next trip. Bottles can be purchased in three different sizes and price points will vary a bit. When you are ready to purchase let a sales person know and they will pour, label and cork it for you. Samples of three are available in boxes by the register, Lavender and Olive Oil hand salve is available as is body wash. Today's purchases 350 of each - Italian Infused Olive Oil - Roasted chicken, mushrooms or veggie salad. Cinnamon Pear Balsamic Vinegar - Spin on Spinach Salad, Fruit tart and maybe even Roasted Pork. *Bodacious Olive is not open on Sunday so if you are in the store get it now as not to be disappointed later. read more

With all this hullabaloo going on about how you can't trust the olive oil in supermarkets (it's often pasteurized and you don't get any if the benefits of olive oil), you have to buy olive oil from places you can trust--the Bodacious Olive is one of them. You'll be lost in this store for at least an hour trying all the olive oils and decadent balsamics. Do yourself a favor and don't go hungry or you'll make a meal out of olive oil and bread--okay wait, that doesn't sound so bad! Another cool thing this place does is host chef cooking parties several times a month. I haven't done one yet but plan to. read more

I love this place. Friendly staff, the tasting us fun. We have shopped here a few times (the organic garlic olive oil- O M Geeee!), and attended a wine and chocolate tasting as well. The set up is really nice. I'm happy that they are making downtown more of a shopping area. The vinegars are all really unique, we have purchased for ourselves and as gifts. The oils are wonderful. Their Facebook page is informative, which I like (how we found out about the tastings). Save your bottles for a small amount off your next purchase. read more

This review is really for So Gourmet, the attached kitchen store. I went to see a tv segment filmed in the test kitchen upstairs and the space is beautiful, I can easily imagine it being great for cooking classes. While I was there I saw the shop but didn't need anything. However then my sister and I decided to cure and smoke some salmon for Father's Day--but realized we were running out of time for curing the fish and needed to get started right away. I went to bodacious olive before it had really opened, explained I had a specialty appliance emergency and they graciously took me up to the store and helped me buy a stove top smoker. This review is for the restaurant part of bodacious. The store itself is very cute and I have always found the employees pleasant. HOWEVER, Today I tried the restaurant... I heard it's also known as chopped. I was happy to try a "healthier" option Downton. Upon arriving I waited in line and reached the front of the line. The cashier (name was Rachel) was rude. She acted bothered that I was giving her my order... I was never greeted, only stared at. She also did not all which options I wanted for my wrap (type of dressing). My friend later had the same experience with the cashier. Rude and abrasive. I simply ordered a kids meal grilled cheese, a turkey wrap, and a frozen coffee. After waiting for my food for 25 mins (sitting right in front of the pick up counter) I approached the counter to try to ask the cashier what the hold up was.. she looked at me a few times and completely ignored me. I everyday waived down a cook. My food had just been sitting- cold now.. I asked the cook what happened and he claimed they lost the ticket number for my order... I understand mistakes happen. But why did they allow me to sit and wait for food for 25mins. This place is small, they should have called out the order. Instead I received the wrong wrap-soggy now and my son recieved a cold quesadilla when I ordered him a grilled cheese. I took a few bites and then left irritated that my lunch hour had been mostly wasted at this point. Will not be back for the food and certainly not the service. I have worked in the did service industry and I'm shocked people would think it's acceptable to have someone pay $25 for food that's barely edible and not what I ordered and also treat patron poorly. Amazing place. It's a restaurant but has an adjacent store that sells a myriad of olive oils and balsamic vinegars that are available for tasting. I went for the breakfast yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. It's a cafe style area that sells coffee, expresso, quiche, crossiant sandwiches, wraps, toast, cookies, and more. I got the bacon, egg and cheese croissant with a side of grits to go. My meal was ready within minutes. Large portion sizes too. The crossiant was fully loaded. The grits were enough for 2 servings. Everything was really tasty. The grits were the best I've had in a long time, instant gratification when your taste buds got some of them. Super creamy with actual corn and a slight cheese flavor. I LOVED them. The crossiant was very good as well. I think there was mushrooms in the scrambled eggs. I'm definitely willing to try other items on the menu. The cafe had limited seating. It had 1 tv. I love this store! We went in this morning mostly out of curiosity and left with a bag full of olive oils and balsamic vinegars (and three pastries and a loaf of sourdough). I went in with three young children and the staff was wonderful. They patiently answered a long list of questions and helped us to try different things. Overall it was a great experience. Definitely try the Sicilian Lemon (white balsamic) and garlic (olive oil), on their own and combined, and the wild mushroom and sage (olive oil). We had a difficult time deciding between the black cherry and strawberry balsamic, but ended up pairing the black cherry with the blood orange olive oil. read more

A must do! It's really a large complex that goes beyond the oil/vin store. We had a wonderful employee assist us; I forget her name but she was petite with red hair. She gave us a sheet of paper that told of the popular combinations of oil/vin and the signage on the vats are helpful. The employees are not pushy but they do come over often to make sure you are doing ok and to suggest flavors. Subsequently, you'd probably feel like a dick if you didn't buy something. The quality of the oil/vin is higher than our local oil store here in St. Louis. Our favorites were the walnut oil, maple balsamic, and 18 year balsamic. If you're not familiar with these types of specialty foods, you would think the price is high. However, the prices were right within the industry norm. We bought a small bottle, 2 medium bottles, and 3 rubber pour spouts for $52. They do have an online store so I have a feeling we will be refilling our order once consumed. read more

I was stunned to taste the difference between California Olive Oil and the various Italian Olive Oils. Buy USA is all I can say for Olive Oil. The infused Balsamic Vinegars blew my taste buds away. 18 year old Balsamic Vinegar? Seriously? OMG...the closest I can compare is a Culinary Orgasm times 1,000... This review is for the food only. The shop is great and so is the staff but the food is a big thumbs down. I had wanted to try the food here for some time but I won't make that mistake again. I had a breakfast bowl was so so, the egg was good and the couple pieces of spinach was good but it was all downhill from there. The "roasted red potatoes" were inedible. Cubed potatoes, cold, hard, absolutely no flavor and I'm not sure where the "roasted" was but it wasn't on those potatoes. No doubt they were poured out of a bag, I couldn't eat them. Way overpriced for what you got. I wouldn't mind the cost but when the food is that below average, I say save your money. Too many good restaurants in town to settle for this. read more
