This is my second visit almost a year since we first came to Pensacola for my husband's job. We should probably be back more often now that he's on a project here, so I will be eating at Lucy's more often. My first lunch stop was back to Lucy's, and I couldn't help ordering the same lunch as last year. Pick-two: I again enjoyed the delicious, thick tomato red pepper soup with a crisp, melty grilled cheese and a coke zero. They have a great bar but I was driving a rental. staff is lovely and I saw that the server I had last time was still working there, which makes happy to see staff that seem to love their jobs. My wife and my first visit for the snowbird season! We chose to sit outside as it was a absolutely gorgeous day in Pensacola! As it was taco Tuesday, we started with their queso and chips! I ordered one of their special margaritas and my wife, a glass of the house cab. Our queso dish came out fairly quickly with our drinks. The queso was delicious! We ordered a side of salsa to go with it. Was surprised that the salsa side was $6. Being taco Tuesday, her tacos were just under Half Off for a bargain of $3each! So I was just introduced to Lucy's In The Square this week. I have a friend who is a regular there and she took me there so I could try them out. Now one thing that is cool about Lucy's is that it's off the path of what seems to be the main downtown streets in Pensacola. We were there during Gallery Night and it was a little bit away from the busyness of that scene. Lucy's has seating outside but we chose to sit inside. We were able to easily find a seat and we were greeted by the staff. I believe the person who waited on us was named Alex. She quickly brought out 2 waters. That was very much appreciated because it was hot outside and I had begun to sweat. Alex got our drink orders and very soon our food orders. I ordered tacos because my friend recommended them or the flatbreads. I had the Steak + Blue, Cali Chicken, and the Shrimp tacos. I will say all the tacos were excellent. If I had to rank them I would say Steak then Chicken and then Shrimp. To be honest I probably ranked Steak the highest because I sate that one first. And in another case of honesty, the only reason I ranked Cali chicken over the Shrimp was because of the sauce on the Cali chicken taco. It was really good. We were downtown for a photo shoot and the photographer suggested we have dinner here. I'm glad we did because the food was very good and a little different from your normal fare. I had the Yard Bird Nachos and they were delicious! They have roasted chicken, black beans, corn, red onions, cilantro, spicy bbq sauce and lime crema. My wife opted for the Piggy Mac n Cheese. It was pulled pork, crispy fried onions, Mac n cheese of course and bbq sauce. All mixed together in a cute dish. Our friend had the wild mushroom flatbread and added steak to it and it was very good too. Our server was very attentive and didn't leave us wanting for anything. Was visiting Pensacola and wanted to have a quick snack / drink . We had to drive to Pensacola downtown ... was roaming around and chose this restaurant based on google reviews . Actually a very casual place .. we liked the outdoor seating more than indoor . Indoor was a bit cold and the looks wasn't much colorful. Parking is tough. Had to park and pay too ! They had some amazing lineups of beers/IPAs. Had a hazy IPA and it was just awesome .. margaritas were average ... we learnt that they don't use actual Liquors and they make their own wine based liquors . What a cool spot this is!! We were there the night BEFORE crazy ~ as the Crawfish Festival started the next day. Parking can be tough ~ but there is free street parking (if you can find it) and paid parking nearby. On this gorgeous spring evening, hubs and I elected to sit outside (pre-bug season in Florida!) The waitstaff were attentive and prompt! Thursday is all day happy hour ~ so that was a bonus! Hubs ordered the Picnic Piggy Mac N Cheese, and I ordered the Yardbird salad. Both were delicious and not a smidge was left on either plate. The salad tasted fresh and light ~ roasted corn and peppers, crisp lettuce, savory chicken. So good! Darling Daughter joined us and ordered the tacos. They looked great and nothing was left by the time I remembered I should take a photo! Lauren was a most attentive without being intrusive server! The food was really good. However, our server was all over the place. He took 5 minutes to clean up our table, The wait was long for food, and he even took 20 minutes to get us silverware for our tomato soups! To be fair, he had a lot of people outside on his section but I would say make sure to give more servers less sections of people so people are not forgetful :). read more

We came to Lucy's In The Square on Gallery Nights in January in downtown because Hub Stacey's was crazy packed. I was glad we found a spot but I was really confused by their menu. There was tacos and flatbreads, with the same types of toppings/ingredients. The waitress said they are known for their tacos or flatbreads. So we each ordered 3 tacos, I don't necessarily remember the names of them but one had steak + bleu, one had chicken bacon and avo, and the last was blackened shrimp and more classic Mexican food. The first two were just really random and I wasn't sure why they are wrapped with tortillas/taco shells. I also ordered the nachos and they were really sweet, lots of bbq sauce, and sweet meat (yuck!), I hardly touched it but the only other person eating liked them. To each their own? Would never order them again. Again super confused about the menu, the theme of the restaurant is what? Bbq Mexican? There are many tables outside in the pleasant front of the restaurant facing the square. Inside is very cozy, casual, pleasant. It was a nice day so we chose a table outside. We were just getting snacks so this review is limited. We also did not order alcohol. We had a flatbread which was amazing, and a HUGE soft pretzel. These snacks were delicious and very substantial. I had Lucy's marked as dog-friendly so we stopped by gor a drink before heading back to our hotel to return to the area for my wife's birthday dinner. Alex was a wonderful server--she was very friendly, open to sharing suggestions when we asked, and she even brought out TWO water bowls for our dogs (and treats). We had chips and queso, my wife a Sangria, and me a blueberry IPA. This place has a great happy hour and our drinks and food were wonderful. My wife and I were looking for a nice spot yesterday afternoon to grab a bite to eat while we were downtown yesterday and settled on Lucy's after looking around a bit. The place itself is very nice, and the atmosphere is great. It's hard to beat the location and outdoor seating especially when we get a unseasonally beautiful day. Upon grabbing a table, we were promptly greeted by a waitress who explained the daily specials which were very appealing. My wife was able to get an apple-flavored mixed drink (part of the Sunday special) and I chose from the extensive list of beer to get the Dogfish Head Milk Stout. They have a rotating selection of drinks including local varieties. As for the food, the selection was very limited. They offer nachos, mac and cheese, charcuterie, sliders, and flatbreads. We chose to get the Cali Chicken flatbreads (1/2 off Sunday) and were impressed. We would have liked to get the tortilla chips and either the housemade guacamole or the salsa also, but surprisingly they were out by 5pm. Luckily, the flatbreads were sizable enough to sate our hunger. If you're looking for a nice spot in Pensacola that's not as crazy as the rest of downtown, definitely check this place out. We decided to try this for the first time. We sat outside, which was comfortable. We were there for an early dinner and I think there was one other table dining at the same time. Our server got to us quickly and took our drink order. Since I was there with my son and grandson, I start with sweet tea and ordered the Yardbird nachos. The nachos were good but I wished there was either more Toppings on it or put toppings within the layers of chips. After the top layer, you're just eating chips. I ordered a side of the salsa and it was very good. You can tell it was fresh and homemade. The chicken was tasty, but there was very little black beans and corn. The bbq sauce and sour cream drizzle was tasty. I ordered two tacos; Steak Blue and the Pulled Pork; along with a side of the Piggy Picnic Mac n Cheese. The Mac n Cheese came in a small mason jar and looked awesome. It was delicious! The pulled pork mixed in worked well with the bbq sauce drizzle. The Steak Blue taco was good but didn't have much blue cheese crumbles, so I was missing that sharp blue cheese taste to kick against the steak. The steak was good, but not great. I didn't make it to the pulled pork taco but it looked good. Overall, the food and service was good. The cost is more on the higher side, but I think when it comes to these gourmet, freshly made dishes, the quality is worth it. The only I didn't like about eating outside was the flies. They didn't really bother us during the nachos but once the main course came, so did the flies. I am looking forward to trying more dishes in the future. read more

The flatbreads? EXCELLENT. Salads? PERFECTION. Tacos? OH YES. Our most recent trip, we ordered shrimp tacos and a Greek salad with steak added to it. Both were delicious. We've been ranking shrimp tacos across the Gulf Coast, and Lucy's is MY personal favorite. I have to say, I've been here SEVERAL times and sometimes...the service can be a little "ehhh," BUT MOST of the time it's not, and especially as of late.
