I have gone to many massage therapist and chiropractors for various reasons over the last 50 years…read moreand I can say with complete honesty that Liz Card of Soma Healing in Louisville is the best of the best!!! She really cares about her patients (I consider myself her patient vs. customer). She goes out of her way to make sure you are comfortable while she heals you. If what she is doing hurts, she immediately backs off and goes at it in a diffent manner until you are in fact healed. You never feel uncomfortable about telling her if something she's doing is " too much". I have gone to her feeling like I was 100 years and left feeling like a kid again. Compared to some chiropractors, she is an angel come to earth to help us poor suffering humans... I will never waste money on a chiropractor again!!!

This form of massage also relieves swelling, reduces muscle tension and toxins which can build up in the body's soft tissues during demanding athletic performance. 2. Hot Stone Massage Therapy: This type of massage involves the therapist using heated, smoothed, flat Basalt stones which are placed on key points of the body. The stones are also used as the therapist holds them in their hands during the massage itself to help rejuvenate and relax the tissues quicker. The stones are immersed in water and heated in an electric heating device until they are within 127 to 135 degrees. Basalt stones are usually the size of a large egg, and are rich in iron, therefore they can retain the heat for longer periods of time. 3. Myofascial Release Treatment: A safe and highly effective manual therapy that involves applying slow, sustained pressure to help release tension in the fascial layers using little to no lotion. Fascia is a connective tissue that surrounds each muscle and interconnects all internal components of the body, such as the organs. This tissue specifically can store physical or emotional memories due to trauma (such as surgical procedures) and by helping to release it physically, some believe that it may help eliminate emotional components.

I called ahead to book with "Sherri" who I got a great Shiatsu massage two weeks ago. I was in one…read moretime before and noticed the Shiatsu bars overhead so I asked. They said yes for an appt with Sherri but then when I got there, they tell me she does not work there anymore. Another woman said she would do Shiatsu but she only did two passes with her feet using the overhead bars - not much Shiatsu, just regular Asian massage with a lot of kneading which I don't like. No stretching my back which I've also had with Shiatsu. The woman who did my massage was in and out a couple of times tending to the door. Not sure it was the full 60 minutes. The worst part is that they have a sign suggesting you tip 25 - 30%. I got daggers after only tipping 20% after they mislead me on my appt, availability of Sherri and what I expect for Shiatsu. I will not be back!

I ended up staying for a one hour reflexology session. There are individual rooms for body massages, but the foot massages are done in an open area with two chairs. it still feels very comfortable, and relaxing. The therapist was friendly and professional. Prices are very reasonable, though if you pay with a credit card, there's a small extra fee. This place is quite comparable to Bamboo Massage in Lafayette, and I am happy to have it so close to my home in Louisville!
