I am so grateful to have received guidance and care from Jasmine at The Body Center. I injured my ankle in November and was not seeing any progress with the PT I was receiving through my health insurance due to only seeing them once every two weeks. I started seeing Jasmine twice/week at the end of January and she slowly introduced exercises to help me strengthen, stabilize, and stretch my ankle (as well as my hips, thighs, and calves). Jasmine made a point to understand what my "normal" was before my injury and incorporated exercises that eventually got me back to the activities I enjoy doing. I really appreciate that she explained what the exercises were meant to do, how/where I should be feeling them, and was always willing to answer questions/concerns I had about my progress. Everyone I encountered over the four months I received care was helpful, friendly, and approachable. Disappointed in this company and never even had the chance to experience their services. It was the build up to, that had me cancel my appointment as they are untrustworthy. After filling out a very lengthy serves, which ended up being null, since I am no going to them for care. There was ample time between then and when my appointment was (over a week). They contacted my insurance and were supposedly told I have a Covered California plan, which I knew I didn't. They sent me my benefit breakdown and I was confused as to why my prices were higher than expected, so I called them. Mind you, they sent this THE DAY BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT. So I called my insurance provider as I knew I didn't have the covered California plan, but now they have me questioning myself. I was told, I DO NOT HAVE THE COVERED CA PLAN. I call back to let them know and they say they will call them back and get it sorted out. In the meantime, i reschedule my appointment for the next week, giving AGAIN ample time to call insurance and get back to me. This was on Thursday, I don't hear back from them, so I call them back on Friday and see if it was looked into, as I refuse to pay full price when I pay a huge amount for health insurance. I'm told it's at the top of the pile and they will let me know. I finally call them back on Wednesday, as no word from them. No answer so I leave a VM first. No call back almost 5 hours again VM. So I call again and am informed that they called insurance the previous day and was told again that I have the Covered California plan. But no call or email to me. No breakdown of the benefits or anything. So I would have showed up, AGAIN and had to pay full price without the knowledge of it. Seems very sketchy and has completely turned me off to them as a company. Cancelled my appointment and will go to somewhere I know I can trust. read more

A little overdue on this review. Last year, I began PT with Sara due to a back postpartum injury. I didn't know what to expect. My injury was so painful and limited my range of motion. I was terrified I'd have to deal with the pain for the rest of my life. Worst of all, after battling infertility for many years, I wasn't sure I'd be able to carry another baby due to how much my back hurt. Sara was very reassuring and confident that that I didn't have to have those fears. I trusted her and the treatment she gave me. I'm so thankful for her care; after several weeks of going to the body center, the pain slowly got better. What's more, my whole perspective on strength training has totally changed, and I've continued to workout since my sessions. Happy to say that I'm currently pregnant with no back pain. I just completed a round of PT with Jasmine addressing injuries from a car accident and I have been very pleased with the treatment, care and my improvement. Jasmine is great and tailored the treatment to my specific complaints. She is very skilled at manual mobilization and relief of muscle tightness. How incredibly disappointing. I never got the chance to get my kids there because I had to cancel, twice, and apparently, that is their limit. No flu, no dead phones, no broken computers allowed, just an arbitrary policy that was never told to me to begin with. I just called to reschedule, and was put on hold and then greeted by a rather condescending woman, stating that it would not be possible to reschedule due to those conditions that I was never told of. She claimed I did not call to cancel, that I was a no show, but that is not the case at all. I did call. I think, to be fair, the first time was an error on my part, but the second time, my kids had the flu. Woke up very ill that morning, and an appointment was not wise to keep. After that, my phone simply died and was in the shop for repair, my desktop is still on computer hospice care, and I simply could not manage that and reschedule. This is heartbreaking to me. They could have informed me of the policy, and I could have gone in vs waiting to call. They had more than one time available to tell me about this policy, and that's just poor business communication. They also were supposed to email me paperwork, the forms for the first appointment, and they never did. First time, was their error in taking my email address and the second, seems they just never sent it at all anyway. I understand that places need policies, I do. But not to inform a person of said policies, and then to act condescending as I literally burst into tears, is unkind. Probably better I suppose that my kids will not be going there after all. Too bad the location was perfect and I anticipated not just my own two children, but myself in the future being able to get some care and support there. read more

I cannot express enough how excellent the staff here is. I've been going to get treatment for lower back pain and I left today in tears because of the relief in pain that I felt. The way the staff listen and are in tuned with their clients is what every medical professional should strive to do. Everyone at the facility is very kind and helpful. They take their time to make sure you are using your body correctly even if everything they say is foreign to you. I had never realized that I had been using my body incorrectly my whole life. I had learned to avoid certain movements and exercise had always been incredibly painful. I couldn't understand why people liked exercise until I came here after a microdiscectomy. I now understand what 'good pain' feels like. After 4 visits and the take home exercises I'm starting to feel a mobility I'm not quite sure I ever had. I like that there are different aides helping you with your exercises. Every person has a slight different way of explaining the same exercise and I find it incredibly helpful! All the equipment is kept neatly and is well cleaned and maintained. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with the Body Center. My first physical therapy session there took place three days after my knee replacement surgery, when I was still feeling insecure and vulnerable. My appointment was with Jeff Fairley, who owns and runs the business. With his competence and calm demeanor, Jeff won me over in almost no time, so I decided to continue with him. Good decision! Yes, physical therapy could be painful at times, but I'm happy to have Jeff as my therapist - he's knowledgeable and is totally dedicated to his profession. None of my sessions were rushed. On the contrary, a few went into 'overtime', when Jeff was unhappy with my knee's limited range of motion. He also gave me homework and provided clear answers to my many questions. I just finished 3 months of Physical Therapy at the Body Center in Claremont. I was originally scheduled for 6 weeks, but I felt that I was making such good progress that I requested another 6 weeks. I have not only recovered from my surgery, but I am actually stronger than before. This gives me a lot of confidence to get back to all the activities I love. The Therapist were always great. Supportive, but pushing me to work hard. That really matters, in order to recover fully. In addition, just the convenience makes such a difference. Parking, check-in, and starting PT takes no time. I started going to The Body Center for my back after I pinched a nerve. It actually went away quickly on its own, but I wanted to make sure it didn't happen again. They quickly diagnosed me as having a weak hip flexor and poor landing techniques. Since I play about 4-8 hours of basketball a week this was a problem. The exercises and stretches they gave me to do have been very helpful. My back is much less tense, and I no longer have any lower back pain even after playing for two or three hours at a stretch. Last year I did a stint with a local chiropractor. Instead of an electrical stimulator, they actually gave me a ten minute massage to loosen up my back. The Body Center is SOOOOO much better. They explained to me why my back tenses up so much, and how to change my muscle coordination to get the proper strength and usage out of them. read more

I had a knee replacement in February 2014. 3 weeks after surgery, it was time to find someone to oversee my physical therapy. I TRIED to interview Team Physical Therapy in Rancho Cucamonga to see how they would handle my rehab. I visited their facility and was told that I could not discuss my rehab with anyone, but that I had to send an email with all of my questions to 2 specific individuals. If you are looking for a production-line, impersonal P.T. group, this is your place. However, I was looking for a more personal experience. My in-home therapist had suggested The Body Center in Claremont. So, I ventured over to their facility and explained that I would like to know more about their protocol for addressing my rehab. Sara Jacobs, PT, not only took the time to give me a tour of the facility, but she took the time to explain her course of therapy. At this point, I was already impressed, but Sara took it one step further. She actually treated me and allowed me to experience a full 1-hour rehab session at No Charge. I was sold!! The personal attention was awesome. Sara was always willing to explain my condition and what needed to be done to complete my rehab. She pushed my therapy to the max with just enough encouragement so that I would work out at home in between sessions. The 6 weeks went quickly and I have a full range of motion. Thank you Sara. I have been a patient here for a few months. The care I have received has been exemplary. My doctor Karin is amazing. She is professional, knowledgeable and was very thorough in my diagnosis and treatment. The assistants are also very good taking me through my exercises. A special tip of the hat to Nick who is also top-notch. The desk staff are friendly and accommodating and they offer flexibility when making schedule changes. It's a bit tight space-wise. They could use some more room. However, the treatment is very good and conveniently located for me. Parking can be an issue as there is only street parking so go early to get a spot nearby. read more

Dr. Jeff Fairley is as good as they come. He has an advanced knowlege of human anatomy and physiology and immediately knows the exact muscle and joint that is causing me pain each time I come in. And he's not half-hearted with his treatment. He always sparks up interesting conversation, stays late to help me with a certain motion, and and even ordered me a pizza when I missed dinner due to my physical therapy appointment! It doesn't get any better than that. Also, the assistants are amazing, as they are extremely competent and friendly. Neither Jeff nor his staff is in it for the money--they do their jobs for the well-being of their patients, plain and simple. I just started going here for physical therapy, and I really like it. I've had a LOT of bad experiences with PT (too much pain and not enough progress for the money), but after only one session, I can tell I am going to like this place. Dr. Fairley is very nice, funny, and actually LISTENS when you explain what hurts and what doesn't. He explains things in a way that make sense, and also understands that people are different (something my old PT did not seem to get), and therefore will have different abilities. As an athlete (and someone who is only 23), telling me to stop being active is just stupid, and Dr. Fairley agreed that that is stupid. This is NOT a cheap place - but if you are looking for a different outlook on PT, this is a place to try. read more

My son had spinal fusion when he was 15 and has never been out of pain. A student at CMC, I sought out a PT practice for him to get relief during the school year. From the first phone call--which was so personable and caring--I knew we'd found the right place for him and that was confirmed when his physical therapist suggested that some of his pain might have a surgical solution--and none of his doctors had even thought of it! Fast forward to post shoulder surgery, my son is going back to school and needs PT. The Body Center is jumping through hoops to deal with our new insurance company, which is less than user-friendly,and he will have his first appt within 48 hours of our call, and he gets to work with the same top notch professionals he started with last year, which is huge. I'm the Body Center's #1 fan along with my son, who trusts them to give him the best care available. read more

I saw Amanda, one of the newer PTs at Body Center. She was nice, but I felt like she never really understood the source of my problem. Also, it seemed like the PTs juggle several patients at the same time, so there is a lot of waiting and getting pawned off to a PT assistant. At one session, not only I was there for TWO HOURS (yikes!), but I left with a new pain in my left knee that didn't exist before she massaged it. Frustrated, I talked to my internist about it and she recommended I stop PT and do as much Pilates and yoga as possible over the next 4-6 weeks. After ONE gentle yoga class at the Claremont Club, my knee pain (that had been plaguing me for weeks) went away and I felt better than I had in a long time. I've continued yoga (which I never would have considered before) and have seen major improvements in all my physical ailments. I would consider going back if I had a straightforward, obvious issue due to something like surgery. read more
