I have to say, I am very disappointed with this office and doctor. I was so looking forward to my visit. Before going in, you are met with a sign on the door, "Masks are required". That was a red flag for me and a big trigger warning! We ALL know, MASKS DON'T work!! It has been proven, and no one is requiring them anymore. If someone WANTS to wear one, fine, let that be their choice...it's not mine! I went inside and was told I needed to wear one. I told them I don't wear them. They tried again, and I said no! They offered to make me a video appt. w/the doctor but that is not professional in the least, and so out of touch now. COVID is long over, and we need to go back to in person visits completely. For her being a "Natural" doctor, there isn't anything natural about a mask! I told them since this was the doctor's stance and protocol, I felt her practice does not align with my views and expectations and therefore cancel my appointment. I hate even rating Dr. Trebilcock's office with 1 star. I am a very healthy 55 year old woman. I was diagnosed with low thyroid 15 years ago. My regular OB would renew my prescription for me every year....This year, however, my blood work showed my thyroid levels were really high so she suggested I find a specialist. Found Dr. Trebilcock on the internet. Took me over a month to get an appointment. I was willing to wait. I Was informed that the initial visit would be over an hour and we would discuss my history. I was informed that they did NO insurance billing and I would need to pay and get reimbursed. Seemed like it was worth it. My appointment was July 18th at 11:00. I woke up with a severe case of vertigo. Called the office at 9:00 and asked if Dr. Trebilcock was familiar with an office procedure called the Epley Maneuver, which can alleviate most symptoms of vertigo. The receptionist said she would ask the Doctor and call me back. 30 minutes later, she called back and said that the doctor did indeed know the procedure but, because she "didn't know me" she would be unable to address the vertigo and I could come in and be put on a wellness program. I have never EVER had this happen!!!!! The front desk receptionist suggest that I go to the ER. But, the ER doctors "don't know me". Can you imagine if every Doctor refused to treat a patient because they "don't know them". This completely amazes me. I find this to be extremely insensitive and uncaring!! I found Dr. Trebilcock while looking for answers for my daughter. She brought my daughter back from sickly to healthy and vibrant. In the process, I found her to be kind and compassionate, willing to work with you (my teenage daughter could be difficult when it came to compliance), and gifted medically--or at the very least, exceedingly intuitive. I ended up going to her after seeing what an incredible job she did. However, when she went full time in Santa Monica, I didn't see her as much. I recently found my way back to her after being diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. RA is an auto-immune disease for which main stream medicine has no cure; they don't expect you to get better. Though Dr. Trebilcock wouldn't say I was cured, I don't feel a fraction of the disabilitating pain that I used to feel on a daily basis. In fact, during the process, I felt completely comfortable with my improvement, but she encouraged me to continue and try something else, feeling that I could do even better. She was right! I feel like she has given me another miracle--first with my daughter, now me. I cannot say enough about Dr. Trebilcock and her trusty staff. I have been going to Dr. Trebilcock for 1 1/2 years, she has pointed the way for me to get my life back. I was experiencing debilitating migraine headaches and three days a month in bed, and not wanting to be reliant on heavy meds, after a brief interviewing process I signed up with her. Today my migraines are gone, am on no western medication and no days hiding in bed. And i eat, sleep and live better and my husband is happy to have me back as well. Doctor: Tamara, is a good listener, reads between lines, is very organized and keeps all your charts and info at her finger tips. She is kind, strong, non-judgemental. Caring doctor who took a personal interest in my care. Yes, it's expensive and difficult to get a first appointment, but this is the norm with holistic medicine. After I became an established patient she went out of her way to fit me in for last minute appointments, spend extra time addressing my concerns, and even gave me her email address. Her office staff was very friendly, too, although she often runs late. The reason for my rating is that in spite of her attention to me she was never able to get to the bottom of my issue. The nutritional supplements helped me feel a lot better at first, but she eventually told me to reduce them as if I was recovered and I later ended up getting just as sick as before. I started to feel like she wrote me off as a mental health case, and I kept coming back with less and less answers. I have been seeing Dr. Trebilcock for a little over 2 years now. Initially I went to her because I've been the same weight for 20 years of my adult life and for no reason, 5 lbs. had mysteriously appeared on my small frame. This may sound shallow but with the weight came lethargy, moodiness, sleep issues and more. I had not changed my eating or exercise habits but I am 45 years old so yes, it was my hormones! Through the most complete health history I've ever discussed with any doctor and a little bit of testing, Dr. Trebilcock created a program for me that has changed my life. The pounds disappeared as magically as they appeared and my adrenal glands can handle the stresses of everyday life again! I now also see Dr. T for acute sinus issues, which she always improves with tinctures and supplements and she most recently helped through recovery of an invasive surgery. I whole heartedly recommend Dr. T. to anyone who has mentioned they are in need of a "good doctor" . I started to see her for my severe adrenal fatigue and other chronic health concerns in February of 2012 and since being under her care in addition to some key lifestyle changes, I have healed my adrenals. This is an epic accomplishment considering the number of years I spent with other Integrative MDs in the area and healers with very little success and considering how messed up I was feeling. (To be clear, I think Integrative MDs are wonderful in general, I just did not get the care I needed from the ones I happened to see). Almost all of the reviews are five stars with 1-3 reviews which makes me suspicious that these reviews are fake or written by friends or employees . There is no way anyone would leave a positive review for the way Dr. Tamara D. Trebilcock handles her patients. I wasn't sure whether or not to make an appointment with Integrative Health Institutes because Dr. Trebilcock was fully booked for 2-3 months but I went ahead and made one anyway. Out of the blue I was called 2-3 weeks later and told my appointment was just a fill in. Having waited this long I had no choice but to make last minute arrangements to see her on the day of the call.Dr Trebilcock charged me $500 for an initial consultation and then charged me $100 for a 10 minutes follow up phone call. She prescribed me over 25 supplement to take every day and started feeling a lot worse than when started I stated seeing her. I went to see Dr. Trebilcock for sleep and digestion and not only did I not feel better, I instead started to have more anxiety and nervousness during the day and in the evenings due to way she handled me as a patient and requiring me to take 25 supplements a day. Its worth noting that most supplements I purchased from her office I could buy online for a lot less. I called her office and sent her an email to inform them the treatment wasn't working and I did not feel good but the office never returned my calls and she never had time to reply to any of my emails. I felt disappointed first, in her demeanor which felt a bit patronizing, but more than that, she had me on a regimen of a host of quite pricey supplements and had me take a very expensive allergy panel-- none of which improved my conditions though I followed the regimens religiously. Sadly, Dr. Trebilcock seemed less interested in hearing that I was not improving than she was when I initially came in hopeful and check book open. I first found to Dr. Trebilcock 6 years ago, when I was diagnosed with osteoporosis at age 25. I was scared and frustrated with the treatment I had received from other doctors. I searched out a ND a few years ago after getting fed up with feeling sick all the time and not getting answers from my general practitioner. I knew I wanted to be tested for food sensitivities and Integrative Health Institutes' website convinced me to call them to set up an appointment. Since then Dr. Trebilcock has become my primary doctor. She helped me to navigate my food sensitivities which were numerous. She has also been able to help me with a borderline underacting thyroid condition that my general doctor tested for but never thought needed to be addressed. These 2 things alone have turned my life on it's head. I have gone from being foggy brained, lethargic and constantly sick to having more energy, clear headed and eager to continue becoming healthier. This was my first experience with holistic medicine and it was such a change from the dermatologists I've seen in the past. Dr. Gran listened attentively, asked a ton of questions, and didn't try to rush through my appointment. She was extremely knowledgable and straightforward. I have been seeing Dr. Trebilcock for over 5 years off-and-on. For the past 2 years with regular frequency. She has always been kind, attentive, helpful, considerate, knowledgeable and just overall a very satisfactory doctor. When my "western/Medical" Doctor did her regular blood test, she was quick to pull out her pad and try to prescribe antidepressants. As I am not someone who take meds unless they are not completely necessary, I choose to go to Dr. Trebilcock for a second opinion. She went a few steps further by not only doing a complete and thorough test of my blood, saliva (hormones) and stool. When I went for my follow-up, she showed me on paper, why I was feeling the way I was....tired, down, blah. Right there in front of me, the results showed that I was not imagining this - many of my vitamin and hormone levels were super low. She explained that with a little bit of help (regular vitamin plan, exercise, sleep and time for myself), I could get myself back to a happy, healthy 30-something with 3 kids...who needs all of my energy possible. I promised myself I would try anything for 3 months. In the 3rd month, I felt like the curtain of "blahs" and "tired-ness" were lifting. I was beginning to feel better. What I tell people who ask is....taking the ND path takes some time, patience and money. I've seen a lot of different kinds of doctors in my time. Dr Gran is inexperienced and seemed fresh out of 'Naturopath' school. She even forgot to ask me about my DIET. She also couldn't give me simple answers about supplements SHE recommended. Dr Gran did not give me any information I can't google on WedMD. Not to mention they tried to sell me A LOT of supplements at a higher price than I can buy from Whole Foods (which is already over priced), from the "treatment plan" they generated in 10 minutes. So, I would recommend trying to talk to her on the phone to see if it is a good fit, but it DEFINITELY was not for me. read more

I have yet to leave a negative review for anyone, let anyone someone whose in the field of transformative healthcare. Yet, I have equally never been as disappointed with a clinician as I have with Dr. Trebilcock. Initially on my first visit, I assumed that the office was just a bit disorganized that day. That the 30+ minuets I was waited to been seen, was just a result of a busy day. However, unfortunately this is by far the most mismanaged office I have ever seen. In addition to charging me for time that the doctor had me seated in the waiting room, I was also charged and given mistakenly the wrong supplements upon my first visit. Additionally, I was emailed a "wellness plan" that I had paid for separately, which was essentially a cut/pasted document that was clearly not specific to me. Our next phone consult was scheduled 2 months in advance, when I got notice from her office that they needed to change the date but had minimal dates to offer me. It soon became clear, that it would be more difficult to schedule an appointment with her, and I would have better luck having high tea with the First Lady. When we finally got on the phone, she charged me another 300+ dollars to read me my test results (test that had been paid for). When I asked about why I was being charged this fee, since I had paid for 'test interpretation' fee on my first visit, the response was again that information would be typed, and that I was paying for her time to get this down on paper. Something I couldn't quite wrap my head around, but went along with, as I was desperate to get some help around my gut health. On this same phone call, I had told her about my concerns in scheduling, and with no apology explained that her office is in a transition. Unfortunately it doesn't end there, I called Dr. Trebilcocks office due to an emergency related to my stomach. I was in a great deal of pain, and had severe fatigue. Not only did I not hear back from her until a week later, she wanted to charge me for speaking to her over the phone about my concerns that she hadn't called me back in an emergency circumstance. I was left no other choice to call my general practitioner, who called me an hour after my phone call to him, explaining to me that I should be seen at urgent care. Being doctor myself, I would never leave a patient who mentions an emergency in the dark for as long as she did, only to after give such an insensitive and cold response. The reason I came to give this review is because of how hurt and disturbed I am by this experience. I even referred two patients to her, that unfortunately experienced the same treatment. I first came to Dr. Trebilcock when regular, conventional medicine failed me - doctors told me that there was nothing I could do to improve my condition and I just couldn't live with that. Dr. Trebilcock is a very smart and intuitive doctor who brought me back from the brink. When I first came to her I was ridden with ailments. Not only did she take the time to really listen to me, but she ordered several tests that my other doctor never thought to look into. The tests shed more light on my condition and she was able to tailor a plan that best suited my needs - naturally. I have seen huge improvements in my condition -- my symptoms have been greatly alleviated and I live a richer life because of it. The staff at the front are amazing as well - so sweet, caring and supportive - not to mention well-informed and efficient. I feel I have developed a relationship with everyone in the office and they all seem invested in my health and well-being. When I left LA and moved to Texas I decided not to end my relationship with Dr. Trebilcock, so we meet on the phone and she still orders my labs for me - I just do it all remotely. I was suffering from what 2 gastroenterologists told me was Irritable Bowel Syndrome and to avoid foods that trigger it and learn to live with it. They did NOTHING else to find out what foods trigger it. I was also suffering from severe GERD. They wanted me on prescription medication for it. I believed that what was broken could be healed so I sought out Dr. T! She is AMAZING. We did A LOT of testing and found out that I actually have Leaky Gut Syndrome. We also found out what foods I need to avoid. So by doing an elimination diet and starting a plan of supplements, my IBS is all but gone as well as my heart burn!! One of the other things I LOVE about Dr. T and her approach is that she takes the time to TALK to you about everything and how everything interacts with your body. Probably the BEST part is that your regimen is continually evaluated to make sure it is working for you. Not only am I healthier, but I am also down 10+ pounds since I've seen her!! It's very sad that Naturopathic Doctors are considered out of network in every insurance plan, but see if you are eligible for out of network benefits, submit for reimbursement and see what happens. Dr. Trebilcock has been my family's naturopathic doc since we moved back to the area almost four years ago. Trying to find a doctor that really cares and actually supports a lifestyle less medical- is really hard. She is probably the most objective and supportive doctor I have ever met, and I actually look forward to our visits. Not only was she highly regarded by her colleagues and serves on the California Naturopathic Doctors Association, her patient's success stories secured my decision to go to a naturopathic doctor. Dr. Trebilcock is very attentive and thorough during your first office visit. She spent an hour and half with me, and wanted to know about me and my conditions through the years, not just the problem at hand. She had given me labs to do and a specific wellness plan with supplements to follow until my next visit. I started seeing changes within weeks of my first visit and after two months of seeing Dr. Trebilcock I never thought I could have felt that pain free. Long car rides and stressful situations do not worry me anymore because for the first time in my life, I have my health under control. If I ever have a flare up with my condition, she will always take the time to access what is going on in my life and health and get me back on track. Dr. Trebilcock completely changed my life. If I could give a 0 to Dr. Trebilcock, I sincerely would. However, the fact that you're able to book a consultation with her prior to the initial appointment warrants one star. Because in that consultation, I learned that going to Dr. Trebilcock would be a HUGE mistake. One of the most dangerous things out there is a doctor who is arrogant and doesn't listen to their patients. Dr. Trebilcock is one of those doctors. She thinks she knows it all. And she doesn't. After going through a 2 year medical nightmare, which I told her about (also due to an N.D. who didn't listen) she thought she knew more about what happened to me than I did. (Even my other doctors were horrified to later hear what happened. And they are doctors of the highest caliber.) Needless to say, I left her office so incredibly upset that people at my work noticed. And ironically enough, I told a co-worker what happened. Given she has such a memorable name, he recognized it and said, I think my wife went to her! He then called her up and sure enough, she had. Bottom line: Dr T. is a dyed in the wool genious. Not all Naturopaths are made the same. She has an incredible knack for understanding the interconnected relationships of the body and its chemistry. She is an uncommon mind. She reminds me of Russell Crowe in A Beautiful Mind when he breaks the code in the seminal scene. She gave me my life back after a devastating bout with swine flu that left me disabled with a post viral chronic fatigue syndrome at 29 y/o. Out of the 10 doctors I saw, some renown UCLA and Cedars specialists, she was the only one who helped. When I first saw her, knowing that with my illness I was given only a 10% chance of ever recovering in my life ( by traditional research) I asked her what chance did she give patients like me for ever having a normal life again. She said she had seen about 90% improved in her office. I was very doubtful. I remember asking her what it looked like when patients like me recovered, if ever, in her office. She said, it would be like peeling off layers of an onion until one day it lifted. Over a year and a half, with her performing deep testing and finding approx 50 compromised markers in my body that had been devastated by the flu, some in areas I didn't know could be tested, and by prescribing at times light support and supplementation, while at other times her pulling the trigger on aggressive intervention of opportunistic infections that had taken over my broken body, plus her researching unique aspects for my case, even so much as finding a genetic predisposition in my family that no other doctor had thought to test for, she wrestled every single one of my collapsed systems; immune, digestive, hormonal, metabolic back to life, and one day, free of infection and with 50 markers all testing within range, my illness lifted... It was exactly as she described could happen. She cured an illness deemed "untreatable" by experts and not only that, I remember weeping at my desk, a grown man, thinking I hadn't felt as good since I was a kid. I left better than before my illness. What I learned is that for many modern illnesses, it's insane to see only specialists because the illnesses themselves are not specialized and they form due to complex multi system compromises. Many people I speak to believe, like I used to, that a Naturopathic Doctor represents a branch of hippy dippy, granola, ineffective alternative medicine that sort of steps outside of strict clinically proven science. I can't speak for all Naturopaths, but with Dr. T. that assumption is far from the truth. Here's why: Science is ahead of medicine. Many institutions in medicine actually lag behind science as it takes time for new proven research findings to trickle into practices and for paradigms to update. I witnessed how Dr. T treats based on new peer reviewed understandings in science. The problem is without somebody on the bleeding edge applying new clinical understandings I'd still be disabled, unable to lift my arms or walk to the kitchen, still believing that my illness was incurable because doctors who hadn't bothered to open a medical journal in 30 years told me so. If you feel like shit everyday and don't know why, or have a complex ailment that you will do anything to have cured, ask her if she thinks she can help, she won't bullshit you about her capabilities. (By comparison, for another illness I read about, I was curious about her results and she said she only saw approx 30% of patients improve).
