A few were unavailable but most were not doing wedding hair any more for one reason or another. When I called Rumors, Amir picked up the phone and immediately said he would love to do my hair for my wedding. Off to a great start! We visited Amir about a month prior to the wedding to do a trial run. I showed him some of my ideas and he expressed it would be super easy to do. He also suggested doing some highlights to make my hair look "sun kissed" which we ended up spending most of the trial doing. They turned out great! Later, when I told him my hair was feeling dry due to the highlights, he gave me specialized shampoo and conditioner to help heal my hair as a wedding present. So kind and generous! The day of the wedding comes and he shows up ready to get to work. He was fun and expressive when he worked on 2 of my bridesmaids and myself. He worked with each of our needs and types of hair with ease and experience. My hair was incredible and exactly what I wanted, a messy, casual bun that had grace! Plus, now here's the best part, it was COMFORTABLE! He used a bunch of bobby-pins but it didn't hurt at all! Even after 8 hours of wedding and dancing and my hair felt amazing! I don't know how he did it but I was very impressed that he was able to make that type of up-do feel good. Amazing work! He was willing to drive to our hotel (St. Orres) as well as go to the venue to do my husband's hair. He even did a great job with my husband's hair and made him look so handsome! Thank you, Amir! I had acne that I treated with my go-to "harsher the better" philosophy: Retin-A, Accutane, Oxycycline, Pro-Active, and so on. Now my face is pissed off at me and refuses to produce oil like a normal person. Dry as hell yet very, very oily. Kit lovingly listened to me and told me what she recommended for the facial, which I agreed to. The space for the facial was absolutely peaceful, super-clean, and wholesome. I began to feel like I was in Lothlorien, and upon another glance at Kit I saw striking physical similarities to Galadriel as played by Cate Blanchett. Kit's hands gently cleansed my skin, and prepped me for a soothing steam. Truthfully, after this point I just began to surrender to the facial and just relax instead of analyze and fear. I remember her loving hands attending to my face like some sort of sacred ritual. It was filled with beautiful scents, gentle sweeping movements, calming massage, and utter peace. She added a hand and wrist rejuvenation treatment that included massage, essential oil, and warm mitt infusion. Then she told me that she would throw in an eyebrow design as well. Good right? I started freaking out because this Korean girl's been blessed with a moon-face that was considered beautiful in 16th century Korea, but in this age makes her want to grow grow grow her eyebrows to make her face look smaller so birds birds stop flying into my head. I told Kit my fears and she totally understood and told me what she was going to do and why. Kit used hard wax which I love b/c of the lack of pain and the gentle stripping off the skin. It felt great and I just hoped for the best and relaxed into it. After a soothing crystal mask and some other treatments, she propped me up and said, "now for the best part." Uh, typically that statement is not one I associate with Lydia sans makeup but what the hell I grabbed the mirror and inspected my bliss-facialed face. Holy mother of Jesus, my eyebrows were freaking perfect. I guess in my effort to use my eyebrows to make my face look smaller, they had gotten Wookie on me. But now, wow, Kit made my top arch higher and cleaned the under and some other stuff that made my eyebrows frame my eyes and face much better. The skin on my face didn't look angry anymore. It looked nourished like it had just taken a deep drink from the fountain of Galadriel. I had that glow and even the muscles on my face had softened. I looked and felt serene. I guess I was tense before I got there and didn't even know it. What can I say to sum up this wonderful experience? I came for a basic facial and I left feeling nurtured and peace by Kit's loving tending to. It's like I thought I was just going to get a sip of water, but I ended up with a wholesome and thorough satiation. I highly recommend Galadriel's blissful facial!
