I grew up listening to this radio station while I got ready in the mornings as a child. There is a…read moremorning show until 10AM which gives the school lunch menus, if there's weather cancellations, and news and sports/ This is VERY helpful to figure out what to do during the day, if schools are cancelled and what news stories are happening locally. Also, local businesses call in and talk about their businesses and do advertisements live. As I have grown older, it is obvious that this radio station is very conservative, but in terms of getting stories out and informing the public- they really are second to none. In terms of sports coverage, there is a group of guys who have been doing games - especially high school football - for decades and are incredible. The area is all about high school football and this station is an incredible edition covering 4 different sports football teams of the area, in addition to broadcasting Redskins, Ravens, WVU, and Frostburg State games. Incredible wall to wall - not sure how they do it, but I do know if I need to check a score they are there!

The staff was just so friendly, and you can tell their passion for all things reading. They have worked at this spot for 20+ years, which goes to show the dedication to this special place. My kids enjoyed the unique books, along with the comfy seating in the back of the store. In addition to a great book selection, they have a variety of gifts and unique puzzles. We ended up buying a few books along with a fun, Japanese, dog-surfing puzzle that both our kids agreed was a really fun one. The prices were very reasonable and the store was just so well curated. The bonus side to this location is that they have plenty of staff working around the location to make sure you're getting what you need or assisting you when you can't find that book you were looking for. This location has a coffee shop located on the right-hand side of the bookstore and has a few tables for you to sit and hopefully not read the entire book before putting it back on the shelf... Anyway, the café was clean. I did try to go over there but the line was long and not moving fast and I was feeling impatient so I decided not to get anything. In the back of the store is where you'll find your movies, cds, and vinyl. I was pretty impressed with the selection of new vinyl they had in the store. I'm always shocked though at the prices of their DVD's and CD's knowing how cheaply they can be purchased elsewhere. The rest of the store was neatly organized in the traditional B&N fashion. Everything listed at the top of the bookshelves making it easy for you to find what you were looking for or maybe you'll stumble upon a book you never knew you needed. Either way, this location will suit you just fine.

Honestly the best bookstore I've ever been too... tons of great stuff, good prices on…read morerare/antique/vintage books, and the most incredible customer service I could ask for. There was a small hiccup/misunderstanding with a large set of books I purchased from them (it was missing one volume out of 150) and the owner went out of his way to make it right. He ordered me the missing volume and had it mailed to my house since I live two hours away. This was my second trip to Blue Plate and I will always make sure to stop by whenever I'm in the area.
